The members have said the guys in the black represent ARMY. We run with them, we fight with them, and we are always at their backs. I love the symbolism! 💜
I thought the people in black represented death, how it's final potential , is always present. So they are chasing death back, chanting : NOT TODAY !! NO NO NO !!
Btw, the choreo is by Keone Madrid, the same choreographer for Jung Kook's Seven and Standing Next To You. (Back in 2013 the three main dancers of BTS - JK, Jimin and J Hope - attended a dance workshop run by Keone and his wife Mari - and they forged a bond that still exists to day as Keone has done a lot of BTS choreo). Remember, BTS stands for Bulletproof Boy Scouts, so even though they are getting shot they aren't getting hit - and the other guys in black are taking the bullets for them. Btw, both the quarry and the parking garage in the mv are rather famous and have been used in quite a few other mvs in Kpop. As for BTS ever disappointing - well, there is one - a collab with the girl group GFriend in a commercial for school uniforms called Family Song.
Not today is one of my all time favorite BTS song. My fighting song. Whenever I feel down...i listen to this song and tell myself...not today. You like the choreo?...should watch the dance practice. The choreo is clearer and I love the sound of their feet when dancing. Great reaction as always. 👍☺
He would enjoy both versions of the MVs for ON, the Kinetic Manifesto one and the original cinematic one with all the religious and cultural references.
Hi Joe E. ! The next one should be ON kinetic manifesto: come prima. You also have the same song with the original mv. They are both great but Kinetic manifesto hits differently. It’s choreo madness !
They're both definitely awesome, and I think Kinetic Manifesto is more approachable in general (especially if you are heavily into choreography.) For me the original MV is where it's at though, because I am into the Biblical, Jungian, and Alchemical symbolism of the video. It adds just as much as the backdrop and imagery of Blood, Sweat, and Tears
@@thetalantonx Oh most definitely ! Like I said, they are both great , but for different reasons. If you love choreo ( which Joe E. enjoys ), the Kinetic Manifesto is your thing. If you enjoy deciphering a good video, then the original mv is for you. I find that you cannot go wrong with either one. Personally, I always recommend watching both, but starting with KM because you can appreciate the choreo more after when you watch the original mv. Let’s wait and see what he’ll react to next. 😉💜
I agree with others that On Kinetic Manifesto Film is must before you move to solo songs; but also Save Me (which is shot in one take). Dope is also a classic mv, and one of my favorites is Danger.
Thank you all for alerting me to this one too I am really happy to get to watch it. I always am so impressed with the quality of the insight you offer and the amazing community you have built.
Underdog anthem! This is still one of my favorite songs.. the group started first but they all did their own individual thing along with the BTS thing..
Thank you for spillin' your video knowledge. 2019 BTS did their Love Yourself Tour. I saw them at the Rose Bowl, where they broke Taylor Swifts Sold Out Seat Record. They started with Dionysus and Not Today. I was exhausted after just 2 songs and we had 2-1/2 hours to go. It was amazing. Watching them, made me feel they were super human. I hope you get to see them sometime in concert.
Such a fire song & mv; from the camera work, lighting, and choreography- (chef's kiss) so good! I greatly enjoyed your reaction to the details and them. Feel like I learned some cool info of frame rates and light/contrast. The lyrics are immensely energizing onto of the visuals. Thank you so much for doing this one! You rock Joe E Sparks💯❤️🔥💯🤟
The best part for you is there is TONS of content behind the scenes for their music video shoots. Any freaking music video they do- there is a behind the scenes. Sometimes multiple. They've gifted us more content than any other group I've ever been into. Its almost impossible to see everything they give us.
Dude please def keep going your insight is appreciated. We love to see people discover how awesome BTS is and see the journey of someone become ARMY. You nice, keep going 👍💜
DNA by BTS is AMAZING!! Thank you for your honest and thoughtful insight. Your reactions are great. To be honest if you want to be 🤯 away. Watch MAMA or MMA performances of 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, well you get the idea. Truly it’s where their pure talent, artistry, choreography, and stage presence is at its finest!!!! It’s really why there is no competition to them. They just can’t match. No disrespect to the other artist but they ARE outclassed. It’s unfair and they should be proud of themselves but BTS is unique in their pure talent. It’s why they are so envied. Anyways, looking forward to seeing you in your next BTS reaction. I do hope you do at least one live performance before you dive into their solo works. Be safe and Happy New Year!!💜💜💜💜💜Apobangopo💜💜💜💜💜
The hoodie people start as chasing them, coming after them. BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan - Bulletproof Boyscouts) have to take the criticisms fired at them like bullets on their own at first. They are bulletproof though so they are resistant to the criticism. As the followers in hoodies start to become ARMY, they run with BTS rather than come after them, and they too step in front of the bullets to protect BTS and at the end BTS link arms and form a bulletproof shield in front of ARMY, showing the symbiotic relationship. I love this song and play it to get me revved up for a difficult work day. Thank you for your reaction. I love to hear you explain how they shoot the video and give me a new understanding. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season. Borahae 💜
Loved your reaction to this - thank you. Your attention to detail, particularly how details impact on how the choreography carries. I love that kind of stuff, and BTS and their team are masters at it. I also like how you called the dancers "dancers". Lots of folk refer to them as backup dancers - but Hobi dislikes that: they are dancers. Since they are absolutely intrinsic to BTS' performances, I think we should do the same! Always loved this track and MV.
It seems like social media and haters take shots at them. Sometimes they get hurt or are affected by it, but they are not giving up and are still fighting. So whatever your opposition, don't give up - always pray and try again.
This is a video shot by Sung Wook Kim and he was inspired of Lord of the Rings when he heard this song. Of the fellowship idea, so that is how he shot not today. He was a professional snow boarder and got into videography from there. So his slow motion or stop motion probably comes from catching fast live action events. He did many of the videos that Lumpens did not work on at that time. Lupens was very centered in doing things that had to do with the story he worked on for BTS the BU. If it was to far out from that he tended to pass. Not Today was one of those songs, it fits in with the BU but can stand alone as an anthem and did.
Thank you for this reaction; loved the info on the slow mo! The group's name is "Bulletproof Boyscouts", so that is why the shots didn't hurt them. I recommend 'Save Me', as it was a one-shot take. 'ON: Kinetic Manifesto Film, too! I think you would also enjoy Taylor's Guide to give you some info and background on the guys. It is about 45 minutes, but ARMY will stay for all of it, so please don't cut parts out, feel free to pause, rewind, etc. It already has English captions, so no need to turn those on. ua-cam.com/video/huV_yIdxZPY/v-deo.htmlsi=GEx98t3JqnQYKiyz
You should def do No More Dream if you haven't already. Their debut song from 2013 and truly set the standard for the rest of their careers. Yet to Come in Busan stage performance for UGH (rap line), then dance practice for Run BTS. ALL FIRE.
The behind the scenes would be really cool for you but yes Spring Day, Black Swan, Blood sweat & tears,Fake love and Film out ,Make it right, Life goes on since Jungkook directed it then for solos Singularity by V+all of Layover video by V The Astronaut+Epiphany by Jin,Wild Flower+Persona+ Forever Rain by Rm, Arson by Jhope, Daechwita+Haegeum and Amygdala by Agust D aka Suga, jimin serendipity, Euphoria + Standing next to you by Jungkook
did you see what year this was? Its amazing is one of my favourites. sometimes I miss the necessity to use imagination to get this type of quality. See the debut
Although its funny now because Jimin cringes so much at those first couple of mvs because he kept trying to be "tough" - and that babyface just didn't match that image.
I remember loving this song when I was starting out with BTS. And it is still one of my favorites! I especially like that part where the dance crew throws their jackets in the air. Choreography music video, showing 2 different filming perspectives: ua-cam.com/video/nKDppUjuvdM/v-deo.html 2 MV shooting videos with subtitles (Don't use closed captions. They are inaccurate in this case): ua-cam.com/video/48LZF2JC1UU/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/DroA8REaGkI/v-deo.html And wouldn't you know, there are 2 dance practice videos! Here's the one where you can hear their feet hitting the floor in unison: ua-cam.com/video/_PwYjNh1bww/v-deo.html Enjoy!
They have for many of their mvs a behind the scenes video showing how they are doing their mvs. Also as mentioned earlier there is a choreography video version of this and some of their other songs have it too. If you want to watch a video that really focused on some of the camera angles watch Performance trailer that is the intro to their song Danger that they did live on MBC 20141231, the reason they did this is for the bad camera work of their live performance, the camera is all over place and in odd angles. At the time they were a new group from a small company and they didn’t have the influence to get it filmed the way they wanted it to be. So they did the video to show how it was meant to be filmed. Another performance is from their Sbs performance 2013 No more dream sbs music awards special clip, it’s titled sbs performance practice, in the practice and the performance Suga is not in the videos, it’s their dance teacher that are doing his part in the dance. The reason Suga isn’t in this is because of his appendix surgery that he was recovering from.
This song is a banger for working out too. Love the Star Wars analogy. If you want to dive into solo works, please look at RM's Joke and check out the meaning of the song so you have a greater understanding and appreciation for the lyrics. It's also pretty bad***.
I suggest watching Save Me music video and then the shooting sketch. (Look up bangtan subs save me shooting) cuz the official doesn't have eng subs for that one I think
You’re not ready (although it your decision) to branch out individually. There’s over 10+ years of content to go through. So please, delve a little deeper into the rabbit hole 💜
Please react to their 4th Muster Come Back Home…..No More Dream…..and Mic Drop. It’s one performance, but you tube broke it up into multiple videos. This is by far one of their best live performances and I can’t wait to see your reaction.
The dancers in black are haters at the start. Haters in black appear in other MVs too, such as Mic Drop, Shadow and Fire. They are attacking, chasing and blocking BTS. Later, the haters cast off their outer coats and become ARMY. They then dance and run in formation behind BTS, and towards the end they step in front of BTS and shield them from bullets, falling in ranks to protect BTS. In the last scene, BTS steps in front of ARMY and locks arms, shielding ARMY as the final shot sounds. The song is a defiant stand against haters, but also political, calling out "All the underdogs in the world" to stand in solidarity. As far as white gloves and dark clothes etc in choreography, you would enjoy the MV for Singularity and a live performance, which is a solo song of V but from BTS album. There is a technique used in the choreography with black clothed dancers and white masks. Also there is a live performance for Fake Love that really highlights the puppet-based nature of the choreography and uses this visual trick with white gloved dancers acting as puppeteers during a dance break in the middle. Here is a link to that. ua-cam.com/video/df3AuWkaM_A/v-deo.html BTS were BTS first. RM and Suga were active in the rap underground before BTS, but they are the only ones to have experience performing, in small, rap battle venues, before they joined Big Hit. The performance names they used in the rap underground were different than the stage names they chose later. RM was Runch Randa and Suga was Gloss. They were young teens when performing in the rap underground and considered rising stars already. They both signed with Big Hit in 2010, when RM was 15 and Suga was 16. All members signed with Big Hit between 2010 and 2012. All were still in high school when they signed with Big Hit except for the eldest, Jin, who was a freshman in college and the youngest, Jungkook, who was still in middle school when he signed with the label. They debuted as a group in 2013, when the youngest three members, Jimin, V and Jungkook, were still in high school. Their solo work came a little later, and they have continued to release solo work all throughout their years with BTS. The first solo album was RM's self-titled first mixtape album "RM" released in early 2015, then Suga's first album "Agust D" came in summer 2016 and so on. They were also all doing collabs, OSTs and singles as soloists throughout their time with BTS as well. So, just in terms of timeline, you have already seen a number of songs from after they were already doing solo work. In fact, I think the earliest song you have done so far is Fire, which is from 2016. The younger members albums are the most recent solo work to be released, but there are 11 solo albums among members, soon to be 12 as a new release from j-hope was just announced for next month which he prepared for us before his enlistment in the military. BTS also has 20 albums as a group.
Love what you’re doing came here to suggest some more Japanese artists with interesting videos You already know attarashi gakko ,Ano (or ano chan) also has lots of great videos probably best know for one of the chainsaw man endings but any of her videos are worth checking out the other one is a band called akaiko-en maybe take a look at their channels and look at the thumbnails. Just subscribed love seeing things from your pov as a videographer
The shots were shots fired at their backs from other fandoms, industry, haters…you know…the jealous ones. The ones that saw how talented they were and couldn’t put up with it.
I strongly suggest you react to the Daechwita, Haegum, Amygdala trilogy by Agust D or SUGA of BTS. The videography is stunning, and if you watch them in this order, it’s a movie about his life and it’s visually, lyrically, and musically remarkable. Please please please give it a try! I would love to see your video on it :)
The members have said the guys in the black represent ARMY. We run with them, we fight with them, and we are always at their backs. I love the symbolism! 💜
I thought the people in black represented death, how it's final potential , is always present. So they are chasing death back, chanting : NOT TODAY !! NO NO NO !!
Don't you think, that ARMY would've been represented, in Borahae purple & not death robe black?
Btw, the choreo is by Keone Madrid, the same choreographer for Jung Kook's Seven and Standing Next To You.

BTS were BTS first.
It would be fun to see you unbox a BTS Album …. Proof would be a nice one 💜💜💜💜

The shots were shots fired at their backs from other fandoms, industry, haters…you know…the jealous ones. The ones that saw how talented they were and couldn’t put up with it.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😊
I strongly suggest you react to the Daechwita, Haegum, Amygdala trilogy by Agust D or SUGA of BTS. The videography is stunning, and if you watch them in this order, it’s a movie about his life and it’s visually, lyrically, and musically remarkable. Please please please give it a try! I would love to see your video on it :)
