  • Our quiet, rural Southern Illinois road is home to several different kinds of farms, lands and families. Today we'll kick off a new Mini series; the Southern Illinios Horse Farm Mini series. Recently one of our neighbors contacted me and asked for some machine help, since I had offered it before, to start on some new projects on their beautiful Southern Illinois Horse farm. In today's Horse farm project episode #1 I'll take my Bobcat E42 R2 series mini excavator with the Godzilla bucket, a large 36" dirt bucket down the road to the horse farm project and we'll get started on multiple land improvement projects on the horse farm. Derek and his wife Lisa have been improving this beautiful horse farm for many years now, but it was time for a major change by eliminating a Y section of gravel driveway, and eliminating a decorative rock garden and adding a 12" culvert pipe to help reduce water erosion, and guide the water into the pond. Also by eliminating the decorative rock garden, their uphill battle with weed control will be much easier to maintain a green lawn instead of constantly battling with noxious weeds that are known in our area of the Mid South. Thanks for joining us today and if you enjoy today's video project please hit the like button, and subscribe to join us for the future episodes and please consider sharing this video with others that might also enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery with all of our outdoors and land improvement projects. Thank you! #kapperoutdoors #kapperoutdoors2 #horsefarm #horseproject #landimprovement #landimprovementproject #miniexcavator

Joe, during eclipse video I noticed your back yard. Recall all the battle with ruts. Have you did any seeding, weed and feed on backside of your home to get a good stand of grass or give up battling rain?

@@kapperoutdoors taken me 6 years after had yards tilled up and hydroseeded, water it all and spray 5 times a year. Used Chucks water wagon. Took 10 hours to fill and with the engine running I made a manifold system to switch to all the sprinklers. Those dam sprinklers from Menards never worked so I bought ace. When Chuck needed my hoses and sprinklers I seen on youtube all those sprinklers from Menards had a water saver washer 🤬. Chuck has the equipment you do, and did 1.6 acres last year and $4000 of fertilizer and seed and it’s life a golf course. He been making trails thru his timber with mini. He got so many deer it’s crazy. Just have to water every day. You got us beat you got a huge pond Kapper.
