  • NB. Turn up the volume to enjoy this at it's best!
Simple Minds have forever been my top band and I've seen them many times in concert.
Mick MacNeil their keyboard player in the late 70s & 80s, has been a huge influence in my music, as I grew up
For a long time I've wanted to record a mashup of my favorite Simple Minds songs from the 1980s and finally I started work on this project start of the year.
I've put my own slant on some of the songs, just to add a twist and I also took inspiration from their live versions.
A huge thanks to Stephen O'Rouke, who came in and played some guitar tracks for me.
Gear used: Roland System 8, Deepmind 12, Sequential Rev2, Arturia Minifreak, Arturia V2 Piano Vst & Emvoice Vst, MT Drums Vst & Bass guitar Vst.
Video of them playing live was taken by myself when they played at the Olympia in Dublin several years ago.
Finally... apologies for the rather cringey photo of my and the lads at the end...as you can see, I am a big fan !

Absolutely. Keyboard players are very versatile playing leads, bass, chords, backing and effects..... what keys do you have now?

Excellent! Great sounds and punchy drums, a very pleasure to listen. You've played many of my favorites, especially from "Sparkle In The Rain" and "New Gold Dream". However, Love Song at slightly lower tempo deserves a special mention! Bravo!!👏👏👏

Thanks Luka, Yes In order to meld all the sections together I had to record them all at the same tempo, so 1 or 2 sound a bit different....but a nice twist I think.
