    Step by step - how to install a Mercury VesselView Mobile Module on a new 2020 90hp Mercury Fourstroke Outboard Engine.
    www.mercurymar...
    From Mercury:
    The VesselView Mobile app displays key data for one to four engines on your smartphone (Android® or Apple® iPhone®). Keep track of your fuel usage, engine temperature, battery life, rpm - or any other data points you want to see. There are dozens of data points to choose from, and you can customize up to three screens to fit your style. The information provided via VesselView Mobile is much more accurate than most analog gauges. You’ll have a much better sense of your true rpm, your fuel burn, your speed, your fluid-pressure levels - anything that can be measured on analog gauges will be more accurate with VesselView Mobile.

    Some people make videos with all sorts of nonsense. You made a video without that...nice work buddy ! THIS is how all vids should be. Clearly presented and without a lot of silliness.
    Now hopefully soon your government will open the border so I can come catch all your fish !! :) (Kidding....really)
    Thanks

    I enjoyed your motor video. It is very quiet. Now, I am going to install a module. Thank you for the info.

    Many, many thanks for your very simple explanation! I just installed the VV on my 90 hp Merc... and I really appreciated your very clear instructions!

      where do you install the sensor bar ?

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  2 роки тому

      It comes with zip ties. I attached mine onto the set of wires and cables just inside the cowling, on the bottom front of the engine. As secure as I could make it while being as far away from hot and or moving parts as possible.

    Great video! Can you display motor trim angle on the app?

    Much better than the Mercury Video, well done. Where did you end up mounting the module? Did you use screw hole or just zip ties?

      Straight up zip tied to the main wiring harmess just inside the lower part of the cowling on the front of the engine. It tucked away really nicely. Thanks for watching. Hope you're enjoying a module yourself.

    Great video! Question: Can I use in my 2005 mercury 90hp (2stroke)

      There is a limit to compatibility on older Motors. Best to consult your dealer with specific model number and year to confirm. Thanks for watching.

    so where did you mount it? I'm picking up a Legend XTR16 with a 90 and that is the first thing I am adding.

      It comes with some zip ties, i mounted mine facing towards the bow of the boat inside the cowling, just below the latch where there is already a wiring bundle. I just bundled it to the existing cables. My thoughts were to get it as far away from heat as possible but still out of the way from anything moving or getting snagged . Im sure there are other options, but thats what i did.

    Will that tell you how many hours on engine, or just hours on engine since you installed it? Looks pretty straight forward on installation.

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  3 роки тому +1

      It will tell you hours on the engine. It interfaces with the engines computer and sends the info to your phone so you get the life of the engine. But, any entries or logs a previous owner made in the app on their phone wont carry over cause its not stored in the engine. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

    Where did you secure the VV module

    does it work without data or the phone MUST be connected to the internet? Thanks

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  3 роки тому

      It connects through blue tooth, so for the general engine information, i suspect you don't need data, but the app has many more features that communicate with the web and the cloud and those do use data.

    • @robertduklus6555

      the only cloud i communicate is cloud 9.
      thanks for your reply, definitely will get it.

    Where do you mount module?

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  2 роки тому

      Anywhere i could find that i thought was furthest away from heat or from any moving parts. I put mine right dead center down in the bow side of the cowling. Zip tied it to some wires that are there.

    How much did they charge you to put the new engine on?

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  3 роки тому

      The mount and rig is included with the engine purchase. Removal of the old burnt one was no charge if they got to keep the engine for parts and or recycling.

    so where and how did you attach the module? Nobody ever seem to show the final location.
    all the other steps to connect wiring are childs play.

    • @poppymonroewild
      @poppymonroewild  3 роки тому +1

      I just zip tied it to the front of the cowling underneath the hood gasket. There is another wiring harness there, I just merged them. I think you can mount it anywhere, I chose where I thought there would be less heat, and not interfere with anything.
