PedalPCB Van Pelt Drive | Complete Build, Review & Demo

- The first of three PedalPCB Marshall style pedal reviews. The Van Pelt Drive is PedalPCB's take on the JHS Charlie Brown. Attempting to recreate the sound of a Marshall JTM45 amplifier, this pedal sits on the edge of a boost and a low gain overdrive. It couples great with a Marshall style amplifier or if you have some humbuckers laying around, plug it into something clean.
This video will take you through the aspects of the circuit, the complete build, and provide a quick demo.

Love your channel man. Pedal PCB rules.
Yes. Great products! Thanks!
Does pedalpcb includes electronic parts when you buy Pcb from them?
Hey man ,,, show us how to combine circuits. I.e. say a treble boost side with a zen drive or a d lay with a reverb all in one box.
I will put it on the list!
Hey man! You should do a build of one of their pedals for complete beginners.
I’ve been looking into diy pedals (so I can get into building things from scratch basically) and I have no idea where to start with that stuff haha.
Any suggestions? Take a look at their site and let me know
Hi,
thanks for the great videos!
Where do you get these poti protector from (and what's the right name for this item?).
Regards,
Mark
Not sure what you mean by poti protector? Are you talking about the plastic dust caps on the back of the pots?
@@pougnetpedals yes, I was talking about the dust caps
Great job! I've been looking into this same group of pedals. What are you using to create your decals?
Hey Ryan, check out this video. ua-cam.com/video/WXnGe68dGCY/v-deo.html
Wow, this seems to have less gain than the low gain side of the Morning Glory... not at all what I was expecting..
Yep. It's a boost. I thought it would be more like an overdrive too
Another great video. I appreciate you sharing footage of the build process. I've been interested in doing some PedalPCB builds but one thing I'm not clear on is the LED indicating whether the pedal is on or not. Is it soldered directly to the board? Or are you soldering wires from the LED leads to the board? I've only built one pedal thus far and it was using the latter method. I couldn't quite see when you installed the LED in the video
It all depends on placement. I like my LEDs at the top. For this pedal I was able to solder it directly to the board. I have had to run leads for some though.
What Gauge and wire type are you using? I have 22 Ga Stranded and I’m finding it hard to get through the pads once tinned, any help would be great. Thanks for all the vids, love the channel!
I use 24 AWG solid. I find it the easiest to work with. Stranded is less likely to break though.
Pougnet Pedals thanks for the quick reply! Keep up the great work 👍🏻!
Good use of a Timmy H. card …
