  • It’s time to explain where I’ve been. Many of you have been asking what happened. Today I’ll reveal why I’ve been gone from UA-cam for an entire month. I’ll also show you what’s been happening during this time and I’ll share the results of our row cleaner trial. Stay tuned!

    Been subscribed for a couple of years and really enjoy your farming videos - especially your family working the cattle. I feel like i learn something every time. Thanks for putting out wholesome content. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

    Glad to hear Tina is doing well. I didn't realize how much my wife does either, until she had back surgery and I had to pick up some of the slack. Luckily I can cook, but I can't plan a meal worth a taco. But she could make the strategic plans and I could do the tactical stuff for meal prep so we survived. It certainly made me appreciate her more.

    I hope Tina heals up quickly. Have you figured out the electrical problem on the planter tractor where you could plant high-speed at night?

    • @dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206
      @dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206  Рік тому +2

      Yes! I should have mentioned that. We are putting a hydraulically powered alternator on the planter for next spring to provide the necessary amperage. We were past the bounds of prudent amp draw.

    Thanks so much for a great video and sorry for your wife's problems. I understand what it takes to do what you do as I used to make videos and post.
    It is a lot of work as well as videoing etc. I have watched others that has moved over to the plastic coverage of the round bales.
    It is much easier and cost effect over all that I have heard other farmer say.

    • @dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206
      @dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206  Рік тому +1

      Yeah it’s not cheap. About $12 per bale, but it sure is going to be nice to not be fighting frozen bales

    Now if memory serves me right now when the pressure is shut off it creates a vacuum and pulls the water back and dumps it out. It will drain the hose and the line from hydrant to house and left at the bottom in the hole created by the bad fitting.

    Welcome back Mate and glad your wife is on the mend. Look forward to the next video.
    Man today I visited a conservation park for the day and you should see some of the big harvesters going flat out here to get in a bumper harvest this year. I took all back roads home for 130km so I could check out the farmers. Take care .

    Yup we missed you. You realized now, as all husbands should, how valuable a wife's contributions to the family unit are. Also I see that you are now running a marshmallow farm. I have noted in the past that is what my grandchildren call those round bales. Finally, I remember when the cattle farmer behind our house spread manure. Phew. He spread so close to the fence line that our garden would get some bits. Blessings of the season to you and your family!

    Your "practice days" for training the cows to follow you to the corral looked like a good strategy. Best regards to your wife and it was good to see you again. Thanks for the video Carl!

    How do you determine how fast and how much manure you put down. It looks like you're moving right along?

      It’s not very scientific. I just try to spread it out thin enough that it wrong plug up the neighbors field cultivator in the spring 😂
