Hard to say what the right call was for mom. She poisoned her kittens, but at the same time showed them where they were. It was all instinctual and emotional, not truly logical, decion making do what's best love at that point. At the same time she's a cat, so she did what she felt was best for all of them at the time.

Life is so hard for stray cats. So many people leave or dump there cats its sad but happens all the time. I feed 4 fearal cats. Had them all fixed. Vet was not happy when told they were feral so didnt trust them after that and went to another. Vet to get them fixed. I worry for them all the time. I am currently sale my house and hopes of buying a house in the country so I can save them. With god blessing this will be possible. I have faith it will happen.

She couldn't do anything but stay with them, she was dead for 2 days. Thinking about them being in all that rubbish, is really, really upsetting. It could have been that their Mother was trying to eat from all that rubbish, she might have eaten something that poisoned her.............it's too horrible to think about. God, this is just heartbreaking. The mother may have been hit by a car but made it back to her babies before dying in the trash. How I wish they'd have found her earlier so she could have been saved as well. They gave her a beautiful name,, Mercy. I'm so grateful to PAWS. I donate monthly so they can carry on their magnificent work. Thank you so much.

Yes, tough to watch but it's so good to hear that they were saved. Life is precious, very precious and should be saved at all costs. Most people could give a hoot and a holler about this, but my wife and myself have rescued probably close to 50 critters. Between going through around 90 to 120 pounds of "critter" food, that's for everything we feed so we call it "critter" food. Before we lost our doggie you could see dogs, cats, guineas, peacocks, possums, raccoons, we never saw an armadillo or a skunk eating but I'm sure they were also chowing down since we've seen skunks and only seen where armadillo's dig up where we end up watering our trees since we're in drought conditions all the time. Yes we live in the country and since we're both animal lovers we feed whatever gets hungry. Recently we saw deer prints so we put out food for them also, nothing to fatten them up to be shot of course just food for them to eat. We have 2 stock tanks so they have water for drinking.
My thanks for rescuing these poor babies that have lost their mommy. We've raised kittens with really small baby bottles so they would have a better chance at life. We've also raised 3 baby skunks that didn't even have their eyes open. They were also given a better chance at life themselves. So we're real familiar with raising critters. Our Veterinarian has a 3 ring binder that's about 3 inch wide. So yes, life is precious, very precious and should be saved at all costs if possible, so we do our part for sure...

Even though she was passed away, the moms body being there kept the kittens more calm and together, which I"m sure helped in their survival. A good mom till the end

Thank you with all of my heart for rescuing these babies. It breaks my heart that the mom didn't make it and that the kittens were trying to nurse off of her. The mom had so much heart that in her last moment she came back to try to care for her babies and give herself to them so that they might survive. Words cannot describe how that makes me feel. I wish I could adopt all of these babies, but I have nine of my own, the three oldest ones being rescues and their offspring :-) God bless you guys for what you do

It's crazy how not even 1 kitten even made a peep while getting rescued. The first kitten looked like it was debating just going to the rescuer. They were abnormally calm for the situation. It almost seems like mommy kitty was still there protecting them while guiding them to the rescuers at the same time. If you all don't agree with me u at least have to admit that their behavior wasn't normal, like at all. Even when fear took over slightly they didn't bolt anywhere. They slowly made their way to just get under some debre to some what hide. The love that momma had for her babies was and is incredible.
This makes me so sad because I think of the poor mom dying and and in her mind knowing that she was about to leave her kitts to die afraid and alone .And also depressing is the fact that this must happen again and again to cat families and that there is no rescue of the kittens. I guess my love of cats and great people like you doing this work is all we can do. 👍❤

Those empty bottles and cans are worth money in California so it doesn't make sense to throw them out like that. Someone should gather them up into a bag and take them to the recycling center and get paid.

The number of animals that are suffering because of the human race is astounding and heartbreaking. I’m so thankful for people like Eldad and the others at hope for paws and other rescue organizations that go out there and take care of these innocent animals.

Mama might have had toxic milk but the fact that she pushed herself to return to her babies kept them alive. At the very least her body kept them from wandering away to look for her because of fright or hunger. The mama cat is also a hero here and it amazes me lengths animals go through for their babies. And how some humans can think of them as nothing but sport or food (don’t get me wrong I’m a carnivore through and though) when these animals show (sometimes) more love for their babies than humans do.
Then again mice eat their babies if cornered by a cat and unable to leave their nest to search out food soooo lol
