- The Chosen Men and Sharpe, go out and enjoy what might be their last moments just before the Battle of Talavera. Sharpe prefers to be with his own men than hang out with the aristocrats but eventually prefers his woman more than anyone else.

Back when the chosen men were full, Harper, Harris, hagman, tongue, Perkins, cooper, it was the golden age.
Stuck together as brothers to the end for all! True men!
Daniel Hagman trifecta: best shot, best player (violin) and best singer!
John Tamms himself has admitted that, of all the 30 instruments he can play, the violin is the least by a long way. He is also so short-sighted he couldn't hit the side of a barn, and had to be careful when he had a bayonet on his rifle because he couldn't judge distance very well.
Interesting, Chris Dean.
And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.
- Deuteronomy 20:7
A version of the lyrics by George Farquhar for his play The Recruiting Officer from 1706.
Our 'prentice Tom may now refuse
To wipe his scoundrel Master's Shoes,
For now he's free to sing and play
Over the Hills and far away.
Over the Hills and O'er the Main,
To Flanders, Portugal and Spain,
The queen commands and we'll obey
Over the Hills and far away.
We all shall lead more happy lives
By getting rid of brats and wives
That scold and brawl both night and day -
Over the Hills and far away.
Over the Hills and O'er the Main,
To Flanders, Portugal and Spain,
The queen commands and we'll obey
Over the Hills and far away.
Courage, boys, 'tis one to ten,
But we return all gentlemen
While conquering colours we display,
Over the hills and far away.
Over the Hills and O'er the Main,
To Flanders, Portugal and Spain,
The queen commands and we'll obey
Over the Hills and far away.
Here's to the bloody fighting 95 !
First in the field and last out of it !!!
As a Brit, if I had ever served in the British Army, this would have been my song haha! :D
@@bobpage6597 not the British Grenadiers ?
@@famouswarrior327 The British Grenadiers is specific to the Grenadiers. This is a more generic song, can work with any Regiment you serve with :)
@@bobpage6597 Some badass lyrics for it's time tough.
Whene'er we are commanded to storm the palisades, Our leaders march with fuses, and we with hand grenades. We throw them from the glacis, above the enemies ears. With a tow, row, row, row, row, row, the British Grenadiers.
Tear in me eye
That's A Great War Songs.
Over The Hills And Far Away.
And his version is better than anyone else's.
Yep
Lovin’ the singing!
John Tamms is such a good folk singer.
A great mix of last kingdom (chosen men as characters) and GOT (rains of castemere)
