BakersBass yeah, seems he was totally in control of his voice at this point, he knows how to treat his voice in a non-destructive manner while still keeping the trademark Het roar alive, rather than just screaming all the time like he used to (unbelievably well might I add, seattle 89 is still unbeaten) but I guess his voice had suffered too much by 96 to the point where even with this much control he couldnt afford to sing gritty all the time anymore
@@ShadowZero1980 I will disclaim that I am not a drum expert, but rather an amateur drummer. The ride is one of the cymbals that can be used on a drum kit. It's a very versatile piece, where hitting the "bell" area on it produces a "ping" kind of sound while crashing on it gives you some similar to the sound of a crash cymbal. In Until It Sleeps, Lars makes use of the ride's bell extensively. However, sometime during the Death Magnetic era, Lars, once again, simplified his drum kit and removed the ride in favor of his notorious china cymbal that has zero sound versatility. According to an interview, Lars said that he didn't like the "ping ping ping" sound of the ride so he got rid of it. It's a shame because the ride adds so much to the sound dynamics on a drum kit, and Lars has creatively utilized it over the years on some great songs. Without the ride, Lars would have to change the way he plays the song to work around the lack of the ride. If he played it today, he would probably go to the closed hi-hat in place of the ride to try and get a similar sound.
Poor Rob, will never get to play with Metallica. Even here in 1996 they aren't in top form but you can still see Lars hitting the drums like he gives somewhat of a shit. James somewhat putting it out there vocally. '93 was the last tour they had that had the Metallica energy and attack, downhill from there..after 97 stick a form in them. A novelty act is what they are now.
I love that song, I just wish they'll add it to their playlist for the future concerts!
That drum kit sounded so damn good! Lars, bring this kit back!
Jason and James' voice blend so well in this.
Great grit control, no voice cracking what so ever, no stupid random high note, Well done Mr.Het

I seriously love you, milanicachannel
Nice, great grit control in his voice here.
Great version Het sounds awesome and u realise why they never play this song anymore Jason is really missed doing the bv's
They probably don't play it also because Lars doesn't use a ride anymore on his kit.
@@comicsans1689 Care to elaborate for a noob?
