"Alpnie" on the nose
The FIA should immediately make a rule about the amount of paint
If they do that the same people clamouring for this will the same people to complain how heavy and fat the cars are
They can’t win regardless
Step 1 - Homologate how teams can apply colour to their official race cars. A standardized process, ideally a thin vinyl of some kind.
Step 2 - Enforce a minimum amount of that vinyl, in weight, that MUST be applied to the car.

@@RANDOMZBOSSMAN1no they wouldnt. Paint has been on cars since the beginning of time. Long wide bulky cars is very much a recent thing

Looks much better, the blue/pink gradient is great, and the white accents are a nice contrast from the unpainted carbon.
Would need vinyl to pull off the gradient well - but why not!
If the F1 car had a fully painted version of the WEC livery it would have been the best livery on the grid.
DAAAAAAAMN. This is one of your best (if not the best) redesign you have done. The gradients look good, the colour blocking and the touch of white, ah, chefs kiss.
Your design as a base with the block gradient that we saw on the back of the WEC car would be lovely.

Absolute beautyyyy, this is your best redesign this year so far imo. Love the bright colour pallet so much honestly. Shame Alpine didn’t do anything with it irl. Hoping the FIA introduces some paint mandate for 2025 and beyond

I think Alpine livery is really good, it only needs whole nose to be painted and then it's almost perfect

Not to take anything away from your work as you've clearly put in a lot of work, shown through how you explained your choices, but this has to be the easiest redesign ever as putting any paint on the car is an improvement 😂. But great video as always Tommo
I am not sure with the side profile but that frontal profile is incredible, love how it fades to the pink!!

To be fair, I think the original designer did the best he could do while being limited to only 13% of the car.
I really like your redesign a lot more then the actual car. Just don't like that the original has so much carbon. Good stuff Tommo, banger redesign!

The call out for the 2020 renault livery was a good one. I never realized they have that amount of black from the side view, and have always think the yellow renault livery was a banger.
Nevermind about the original this is 100 times better. Thank you for doing this redesign! ❤

The Alpine livery was the biggest shocker I’ve seen.

This would be my favourite livery since the Alonso Championship Renaults.
I think this Livery would bring in more fans of the younger generation too.
I’ve said it a million times, teams should be forced to only have a maximum of 30% bare carbon. Any black is fine but paint it black

Am I the only person who loves the Alpine they put out? Like before I saw any comments I loved it and was surprised to see how many people hate it.
edit: after seeing the actual car launch I don't like it nearly as much but I still think it looks good

Your render makes me want the red-blue combo of 2021 back, could do a what if render series where teams have different title sponsors as an excuse to try out some ideas, just a thought 🤷🏻♂️
You've taken it from clanger, to Banger Tommo. No imagination from Alpine. Your rendering looks much better than the real deal.

the Alpine is my favorite livery yet. i actually like it more than any of last year's too. i think these colors work best as trim and highlights. when you load the car with color, it REALLY gives that Baskin RObbins vibe. a bit cartoonish. i would stay away from gradients here though. i don't think that transition is going to look great on a printed vynil wrap. i would wager you'd get some banding or gray in the middle
The original is a slow burner, really growing on me 💪
Hopefully will be seeing a whole 2024 tier list of liveries, helmets and overalls 🎉🎉
Also hoping Tommo might redo the 2023 tier list with 'special' liveries and helmets etc included 🤞

I dig it. Would add more time on getting better material textures like a metallic feel to the colour - and maybe a darker blue like its been in previous seasons? Colour placement is wayy better
The little white sections make this for me. I think it's good anyway, but I really like the white nose tip and the airbox. Also, 4-1 in favour of Tommo

The redesign is already a big improvement, but i would have liked even less black. Personally, i like the 2 distinct liveries... one Alpine blue with a bit of pink, and another pink livery, with some white & black ...
Honestly, i think the Alpine is the best one so far. Way mor diverse and creative than the Sauber
I actually kind of like the real one for what the limitation appears to have been, with the BWT sponsor obligation they had like half a square meter of paint left to put on before reaching the weight limit (if they’re even on the weight limit, it‘s Alpine, you can never know with them), accenting the top corners of the front section only looks kind of good to me
Yours slaps on a different level though, one of the best gradients I’ve ever seen on a racing car

This is my favourite redesign so far.

Just like driver numbers, teams should apply for a base color that is the main theme of the car, with at least 90% of the car being that color at base, minus things like suspension components and the underside of the car.
When that is shown off and approved like any other parts of the car before the first race, the teams can then add additional graphics, sponsors and so on from there, but they can't take away paint from the areas approved at the start of the year, just like the drivers can't change their numbers constantly, with maybe one or two special liveries allowed per team per year for certain occasions...
I actually think that the real thing isnt that bad in terms of design, the obvious problem is that there is so little of it, but if i take the bits that arent actually carbon, i like it. i like the different shades of blue and pink, combined in different shapes, its a cool design with potencial if only had they put less carbon and more paint on the car
But your redesign is fire, for me the best one youve done this year

I've warmed up to the real one after the initial anger. It actually looks really nkce and reminds me a bit to the 2018-2020 renault lovery.
If they added a bit more paint/wrap instead lf plain carbon it would look so much better but I really like rhe patterns.
Im sure that if it had come earlier ot wouldve recieved much better opinions.
Maybe thats why McLaren pushed their livery launch

I like the blue and pink because it reminds me of the Onyx car from 1989 which I think is one of F1's most underrated liveries.
The Team vs Tommo Livery Stand Off ..... 3 - 2, you nailed this one Tommo. The Tommo livery hits it right out of the park !!. Quite frankly, the WEC A424 is a stunning car with an absolutely gorgeous livery, and whatever was left over was scratched together for the F1 A524. Alpines F1 livery is dismal.
Deffinately prefer the redesign, but I wish alpine would lean into that metallic blue they had in the blue and red livery, that slapped!
