  • With early intervention, stage I lung cancer can be highly curable. Usually, your doctor will want to remove cancer with surgery. The patient may also need chemo or radiation therapy if traces of cancer remain or are likely to stay. Radiation therapy is an option if you can't have or don't want surgery.

      what were your symptoms?

@@Exodus--po5mh I didn't have any symptoms my doctor ordered a cat scan and it showed up on the x-rays l got a biopsy of the tumor and it was less than 3center miters and the doctors said that they don't find it this early I was lucky and it had not spread , I was truly BLESSED , because it is a very aggressive cancer. I took 3rounds of radiation therapy and the tumor is gone, my doctor wants to be aggressive and wanted me to take Kemo therapy to make sure no cell got away and I take 3 rounds of treatment for 3 months . I was scared because I have no one to stand with me on this journey or show concerns but my outcome from this is a 85% cure rate , I am determined to enjoy my journey knowing that I have a bright future and some people don't have the same outcome so I will encourage others that they can make it , think positive if you need to cry go on and cry and pick your self up and live . I hope this helps you , much love and peace to you

@@bettyhamm1 Wish I knew, what type of Surgery did you have, Wedge Resection, Lobectomy? You had a long Hospital stay so maybe it's the type of Surgery. I had VATS RLL Wedge Resection and complications kept me in for 5 days - was told I would go home the next day. My Surgeon put me on Gabapentin because they spent 3 hours cutting muscle, nerves, breaking a rib and cutting out a piece of my Lung and stapleing the lung closed with 5 Titanium staples. I would get strikingly painful episodes and the medication has been helping.

Pain must be related to surgical wound. Pain is more for open surgery than minimal access. Contact your surgeon. They should be able to help
