    Btw Thx for the video. It really helped me out in setting up my Digital menu board. I’ve been trying to reopen my pizza business, but the menu is way too complicated to start with, so I decided to finally create my own digital menu.

    Hi.
    When I hold shift f9 my computer looks up pages any other way to add grid?

      You can also right-click your slide and then choose Grid and Guides from the popup menu!

    I did run into one small issue though. I finally got to downloading the menu onto a flash drive, but when I set it up with the TV the image left huge black boarders on the screen. I turns out the file was downloaded into something like 1024X780. Would you know what size I’d need to have the file so that it fits the TV? I figured 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 would work but I don’t know how to convert the files to those resolutions. Would you happen to know if the resolution can be converted?
    Sorry to bombard you with questions, but I should note that I saved the file as a JPG. Would you have a better recommendation on what format is best for digital menus?

      @SignageTube 4 роки тому

      Yes, that is the difference between 4:3 or 16:9 design and television. You need to resize your PowerPoint slide design and re-arrange the items so that the slide is fully filled.
      Also to consider: why not use native PowerPoint (and not JPGs) because then you have animations and transitions in between. You know that you can attach a small computer like the intel compute stick to your screen? Read on about this at www.presentationpoint.com/resources/digital-signage-computers/ and www.presentationpoint.com/blog/how-to-get-powerpoint-on-television/

    How do you get the PowerPoint onto the tv after you make it?

    • @PresentationPointChannel
      @PresentationPointChannel  7 років тому +3

      Good question. There are 3 scenario's;
      1. You export the PowerPoint presentation as individual images, to PNG or JPG, and you put them on a memory or SD card. With most televisions, you can insert this card into the television and choose to playback the images. Advantage: quick and no extra cost. Disadvantage: no animations nor transitions.
      2. Use a small computer device or stick (www.presentationpoint.com/blog/small-device-big-digital-signage-screens/) and put the free PowerPoint viewer on it. Then use our free ShowPoint solution (www.presentationpoint.com/software/showpoint/) to auto-start the presentation after a power on.
      3. The utmost solution is our iPoint solution (www.presentationpoint.com/software/ipoint/) where you can schedule a presentation. iPoint takes care of the starting, distribution, and scheduling. You use the Scheduler application to view your screens from remote or HQ. Also see www.presentationpoint.com/blog/create-digital-signage-playlists-powerpoint/

      PresentationPoint what if I want to include a video inside the menu like shown on here. What would I need to make that work on a tv?

    • @PresentationPointChannel
      @PresentationPointChannel  7 років тому

      Teri, with option 2 and 3 that is no problem. PowerPoint can display video in a presentation. With option 1, static images, you can't do that.

      Depends on what phone you use but with a good one, it should definitely work well for this purpose.

      Then you update the powerpoint again?! Is that an option? We do have our datapoint plugin if you want to connect your slides directly to excel spreadsheets or databases for full automatic updates, without stopping the slideshow, in case you are looking for that. www.presentationpoint.com/software/datapoint/

    I saved it as png but when I play it on smart TV the photo does not fit the whole screen is there a setting to make it fit to screen before exporting it?

    • @PresentationPointChannel
      @PresentationPointChannel  5 років тому

      Hi Rudy. Is one direction completely filling your screen? I mean: in height or width, is one completely filling your screen from top to down, or from left to right? If so, then you have to change your slide size and aspect ratio. Let me know your answer and tell me more about the dimension or resolution of your monitor.

    These phones are crazy amazing these days with photos. I spent $1100 on a Canon D20 that gives nowhere near the quality of picture as my S10 does. The D20 makes a good paperweight though so there is that.

    PP is a nightmare as it wont let me adjust the resolution. I’ve searched everywhere but all I can get is a condensed menu that doesn’t fill the edges. I tried adjusting it from the TV but it only zooms in and doesn’t fit to screen. Ugh....

    • @PresentationPointChannel
      @PresentationPointChannel  4 роки тому +1

      You have to know the aspect ratio of the presentation and match that to the aspect ratio of the television. When it does not fit in the ratio, then you will see the typical black bars to fill the screen. See this article: www.presentationpoint.com/blog/powerpoint-aspect-ratio/
