Hey! Thanks :) It's a tenor recorder at the beginning (the one in the picture), and later on I switch to the soprano.

This is top notch playing by both musicians. Also it demonstrates the versatility of the recorder.

Great version! I also like how the pianist plays with Afro-Cuban elements. And your recorder playing is stunning as always!

Great interpretation, love both parts, the unison sounds so natural with the recorder and the piano.

Thanks Adam! I LOVE the piano-recorder unison. I've done it a lot in recordings and shows - the sound is so compatible!!!

Hi Tali, is this Al Jarreau's version? Real Nice! I used to sing this version many years ago and you both did an excellent job!!! Brought back great memories. Mahalo for sharing! Aloha from Waikiki!

Straight up, the alto can do it all and the soprano and sopranino can really get that Yusuf lateef vibe

    Talitha, kumi :)))
Excellent style and the pianist is also great. My mom actually knew someone who researches and plays Latin-American baroque music which must have played a crucial role in the history of Latin jazz, too.

I meant the brand, but thanks. I play tenor and soprano. I lead the Recorder Ensemble at my university and I want to show my "ensemble-mates" this video to show them what the recorder is capable of.

@@TaliRubinstein Have you ever tried any of those new modern recorders from mollenhour like the helder etc for your music, they look like they open up new possibilities. But it is cost prohibitive for most of us though.

I decided to start learning this piece by ear recently and just looked to see if anyone had done it already and I am PLEASANTLY suprised. This is beautiful!! What recorder are you playing?

Tali es Regina de Recorder en Jazz. Su articulacion es magnissima.

    • @wyndhl9465
      @wyndhl9465 6 років тому +1

Tali is Queen of the Recorder in Jazz music. Her articulation is very great.
Tali, have you ever thought about putting that superb jazz idea and execution on flute, also?
Since you have all the jazz ideas in your head and at the tip of your fingers, it will be relatively simple for YOU - magnificently playing the flute.
Even if you are new to flute playing, it will take YOU six months - only six months max, with YOUR musical knowledge, ability and dedication.
And, even though I am passionately moved by and amazed at the dexterous eminence you always display on the Recorders, I will be also gratified to hear YOU with SPAIN on (Jazz) FLUTE.
      Go, dear Tali!
