'Bagged 1960 Eureka Cadillac Hearse - One Last Ride

- Okay, it was just one last ride before the transport picked it up to bring to our customer! But it sounds way spookier to just say "One Last Ride", right?
This was our first hearse in the shop... and I suppose it may not be the last one I get to ride in. Built on Cadillac's commercial chassis, with extra frame reinforcements and a leaf-sprung full-floating rear axle, this one was quite a bit different from the "normal" Cadillacs we've had come through our doors.
This video is just a quick walkaround tour and a drive around the block- the front suspension is the same as the '59 Caddy "flower car" we posted a few months ago, and the rear wasn't really anything to write home about- just a standard ladder bar suspension with the air bags mounted in front of the axle.
Look for our next video in about a week, where we dig into a '60 Cadillac Coupe DeVille!
Now if only I could talk my S/O into letting me park a hearse in the driveway without it involving me sleeping in it…
It takes up a LOT of driveway! I’m sure the neighbors were happy to see it get picked up, but I loved seeing it parked out front
Lol, sounds like you’re with the wrong S/O, or you just like being whipped.
My favorite two year models are the 59 and 60, that's badass for sure.
That's a badass ride I just love it
Would of left the stock wheels on
That car has so much potential to be restored to original condition. It would be a beauty all restored. It also look weird without the curtains. The models with the limousine style windows vs. the landau style are relatively rare. BTW, that's not a coffin; It's a casket.
The ride problem isn't the wheels, it's those rubber bands the guys are running for tires . The taller the sidewalls are there's more cushion from the bumps in the road .
The plain black steel wheel look is good but I would not have chosen such large diameter wheels.
Beautiful car!! Always wanted one of these. The doors sound massively heavy when they close, like a bank vault. I'm surprised it ran so rough with airbags at all 4 corners. Maybe some heavier shocks to deal with those wheels? I like the look of those Detroits on there, but I'd have gone with less wheel and more sidewall to help preserve the ride. Personal choice. Thanks for sharing this one with us. What a fantastic looking machine!!
Very cool and beautiful car ❤
I think that switch panel (3:00) is OG equipment from an ambulance??? Love the car BTW smoothies look perfect.
There were some holes filled on the roof, so that makes sense! The owner has a smooth dash that he’s planning to refinish and swap in there, but it would be cool to know that that panel is original!
Hopefully they won't ruin it hopefully keep it originally 😢 The😢re's not many of those left around, especially a eureka Combination . There's only a handful of those left hopefully Who ever gets it doesn't ruin it 😢 It's worth way more stock than all jacked up
The switch panel is for the ambulance siren and lights. The non-landau (top) cars with the greenhouse glass sides are combination ambulance/hearse cars. ...put the stock wheels and hubcaps back on.
Question ? Was this caddy at cruisin the coast in Mississippi a few weeks ago ?
Yep! The owner stripped it down, fixed the rust, and repainted everything in time for Cruisin the Coast!
I thought saw I have a video on phone is was next to me on route 90 what a great caddy
Damn I want one
Used to Work in a funeral home. And Drove one of the newer caDs. But must say. What a score!!! Very cool.
Thanks! We should have it back at our shop soon- owner wants to get that rear end on the ground!
That switch panel is most likely used for lights and sirens. It appears to be (having glass instead of Landale bars) a combination Hearse ambulance, that would’ve saw double duty.
Agreed- there were plugged holes in the roof that were probably for lights and sirens too.
I know that you are done with your part, but I wonder if there’s any way to see this car when the restoration is finished.
I’ll be posting some pictures on my Instagram when it’s done getting the LS swap done - shouldn’t be much longer!
All the nice families in that neighborhood are like "WTF" .....lol
I think they’ve gotten used to us at this point - might be about time to move on to another neighborhood! Haha
Me gusta esta super es unica
That was a combo hearst ambulance car
На таких катафалках отвозят прямо к воротам Рая.
She is badass. I personally don't like bags but this car is Hella sweet. I love wagons,Caddies and hearses and ambulances
Has low riders but the chrome is screwed up, mirror missing.
Still a work in progress- he’s getting all of the mechanical work sorted out, then working on the cosmetic details. The car has already come a long way in the year he’s had it!
brings back memories of the '58 Limo I bought from a funeral home in 1975.
Famous last words😅
Air ride suck along with your choice of wheels
Yeah, we should all just build cars the way YOU want them. Variety and customization is no fun. You should stay off my channel if you don’t like air ride… it’s pretty much all I do so you’re clearly in the wrong place.
20in wheels suck
Very badass!
Model 62 or 72?
Bitchin' ride man! I'm guessing this may have been a hearse/ambo combo brother...it is awesome! I wish someone would do a diecast of the 1960 hearse...one of the best years of Cadillac! I'd give my left nut to have an old hearse like this and by the way Detroit steels looks great on this old girl!
Yeah! I’ve done a bit more research on them since this one came through- the Combos are the way to go IMO. The windows make such a difference.
Very cool
Awesome… coming from a Lincoln guy… I love it.
Love it!
Que Chaka 😮❤
I need to finish mine...it's also a 60 Caddy Hearse
I’d love to see it! Do you have any pics on Facebook or Instagram?
@@twistedimages405 ill send you some on Instagram
I'm not finding you on Instagram?
we're @twistedimages
Those rear corner windows are cool 😎 but could they be replaced if ever broken ? Great video & narration
I feel like the rear windows really make this model stand out from “normal” hearses- I didn’t look around for replacements, but we were SUPER careful when stripping the window tint off of them… can’t imagine replacements would be easy to find!
such a killer car,,,did you build a link setup for the rear or run the leaf pack,,,de arch them or what>
We ditched the leaf springs and built a very simple ladder bar setup with a panhard bar. Nothing fancy but it lets the bags do their job without fighting the leaf springs.
Why does it lower?
Just for looks, although I suppose you could argue that it makes it easier to load *ahem* heavy items in the back!
Love how you made it lower the hearse
When I die i want this one
凄いですね~😮
Thank you!
To die for 😅
It's a combo
Черный универ Хэллоуин 😇
Absolutely love it!
You just had to ruin the last one by bagging it and putting hideous wheels on it.
I love that you saw the title of the video, saw the thumbnail, and STILL watched and felt the need to comment! Custom cars aren’t for everyone man- go find a stock one and leave it alone if that’s your thing.
