  • Analysis of the call of an Indian Everest Expedition Member in 2005 who fell from the North East Ridge into he Mallory basin on Mount Everest. His body ended up close to Mallory's body. Also looks at another fall of an unknown climber who was reported "not badly broken at all", thus debunking the myth that people who fall from the ridge would be more broken up than Mallory's body.

    Your videos are great. I'm not even remotely a mountaineer, but your content is riveting.

    Always top notch. Did you mention in an earlier vid that you believe Irvine was found by the Chinese?

    • @michaeltracy2356

      I will have a video about how the Chinese sanctioned expedition (Nat Geo) likely found Irvine in 2019 and what that will mean. Much like Mallory -- who was found by the Chinese and then a western expedition was told exactly where he was and went and "found" him, that is likely what it taking place here.
      Removing Irvine from the mountain, "mucking up the film", or just not letting people search does not help the Chinese. The Chinese's problem is the "summit" rocks from their 1960 expedition that are not going away. In order to solve that problem they need "experts" to either ignore them or "confirm" they are from the summit.
      While I realize this is difficult for people to grasp, there is a reason there were two professional geologist on the 1999 expedition (Simonson and Hemmleb) and not a single archeologist. There is also a reason why neither of those geologist ever once mentioned summit rocks in either of their books on the subject. This "mystery" always was and still is about the Chinese. They found Mallory, found Irvine, and are in complete control of who will announce their "find" and what they will say about it.
      For Snow Monkeys that like to figure these things out prior to my videos, head over to Jake Norton's site and look at the 2019 search zone. Mark Synnott said he was going to go check out the "Holzel Slot" .... But that is not the only place he went. jakenorton.com/mallory-irvine-everest-searches-1999-2019/.
      Conrad Anker expressed doubt about the 1960 summit, so he is off the list -- at least until he as more thoroughly studied the Thoughts of Chairman Mao.

      Sounds to me that nobody climbs,searches or investigates anything without the consent of the Chinese Govt...and i assume that any expeditions must agree to spew a narrative written by Chinese Govt....i guess thats why we get screwy stories or outright lies from various expedition members....they cant or wont tell the truth for fear of upsetting the Chinese and be blocked from ever going up Everest again...i dunno but its getting ridiculous

    That’s always bugged me as one of the most loony of the unchallenged ipso facto statements about Mallory that surfaced after the fact. I remember reading in the initial publications how george probably positioned himself like that after the fall, finding some small comfort in that posture and covering his mangled leg. Maybe he had even crawled a short distance before resting in that spot. I never even assumed the old boy died right away or that night necessarily. But the temptation to have a bright idea that makes things pointlessly more complicated is a tough one to resist.

    So Michael, is it your opinion that the 1960 Chinese Expedition did not reach the actual summit of Everest from the North Side, but rather the false summit? Love your videos. Thanks for all the interesting content. Looking forward to the one you are going to do on Boardman and Tasker's failed bid via the complete NE Ridge.

      Yes, the "summit" rocks collected by the Chinese are too white to have come from the actual summit. Until a western lab can analyze them, the best that can be said is that they were likely collected in the Thrombolite layer, which, if being extremely generous to the Chinese extends to the False Summit. Also possible they collected them at the bottom of the snow ramp leading to False Summit, but to give them the benefit of the doubt, I'll say False Summit.

    how close is technology with drones reaching Everest summit to acting as a search device ? - drones have the capability to reach as high as 33,000 feet. The Zephyr drone set a world record in 2021 with a flight altitude of 76,100 feet (23,195.28 meters). WHY not use an army of Zephyr drones to do a full north face grid search rather than all this speculation and hypothesis that does not add up to much - if he fell into a crevasse he is loooong gone - or if he is deeply buried - it will take a loooooong while for him to re-surface if ever - do a video on THIS drone search approach - likely it would gather support and COULD solve the mystery - relying on climbers to search is not likely going to uncover Irvine

    • @michaeltracy2356
      @michaeltracy2356  10 місяців тому +8

      Drones were used to search. They likely found Irvine and everything is being kept secret. The Chinese control the mountain and they control who can use drones. They permit certain people to use the drones for a search, but it appears they have to parrot the Chinese party line.
      The problem is not technology -- no need to do a video on it. The Chinese approved team just used a DJI off-the-self with only a change to the firmware to unrestrict the altitude.
      This is a political issue. It really has little to do with whether Mallory and Irvine reached the summit and as even less to do with finding Irvine. While I appreciate you assistance in how to find Irvine, you offer only a technological solution -- and one that is rather obvious. The problem is the Chinese and how they are using this "mystery" to advance their agenda. Fortunately, that too has a technological solution. It is to educate people as to what is really going on and have people realize that cool technology is not going to solve the problem of totalitarianism and the post-truth world the statist requite to advance it.

    Just because "a" body, Chaitanya, wasn't broken up doesn't automatically mean that every body that fell wasn't broken up. You can't make an absolute statement about all bodies based on only one example. Also, it depends on how "broken up" is defined.

    • @michaeltracy2356
      @michaeltracy2356  10 місяців тому +5

      No one said it was. You are just making a "straw man" argument. While "a" body does not mean "all" bodies. It does mean that "a" body did not break up. That is what it says in the video. You should work on your comprehension skills as you are responding to something that no one said.

    Hilaree Nelson died recently in a fall her body was apparently quite broken up when her partner found her the next day. he was with her at the top when she fell

    • @michaeltracy2356
      @michaeltracy2356  10 місяців тому +5

      Nelson was reported as falling over 5000 ft. (www.nbcnews.com/news/world/hilaree-nelson-american-body-found-dead-fall-nepal-mount-manaslu-rcna49731). Her body was not found "the next day." It was found by helicopter and evacuated.
      The ice axe was at 8420m and his body at 8157m. Converting to feet, this is a vertical distance of 862 ft, so I don't see why a 5000ft fall would help you to evaluate a 862 ft fall.
      I also did a search for news articles on Hilaree Nelson, and not surprisingly, none of them contained information on the condition of the body when it was found. You will need to cite a source for this or it will deleted as misinformation.

      He is probably a well intentioned poster who is trying to deal with the cognitive dissonance that so much of what he has been told about Mallory and Irvine is wrong. Rather than breaking free from the charlatan's grasp, he invents facts that agree with his preconceived ideas. Most likely Nelson's body was more broken up than Mallory's, but it would be extremely odd for any news source to report that.
      Curiously, he runs a rather small channel in which is rants about people doing the exact same thing he did here -- only listen to one side of things and be brainwashed by the "popular" version of the "truth."

      GPS coverage is not great. It is much easier to state what place you are next to rather than worry about GPS. My GPS track showed me wandering down the Kangshung face.

    It amazes me how a body of a climber can survive on Everest for a century yet there have been no bodies of Yeti have been found on the mountain. Either Yeti are the most adept brilliant climbers that have ever existed and their accomplishments must be added to climbing records/lore or something simply doesn't add up here.
