Full review coming very soon, where I mention this. I’m not a huge runner or outdoor cyclist, so I don’t use Strava. As I understand, it works with Strava for running and cycling, but that’s about it…doesn’t work for gym work outs or sport, you have to use the Huawei app to track that… The Huawei app is fine…but it does have some quirks for sure
Yeah it updates as you move…although it is missing a few golf features that really let it down in my opinion…but with that said it’s an incredible price for what you’re getting…a similarly spec’d Garmin would cost more than double
After playing by around with it, I don’t think you can, not without a 3rd party app. Seems the Huawei app has a few pre-designed routes, but these are very limited (none near me) or if you’re out exercising it will give you navigation back to your starting point, but I can’t see how to either create a custom map on the Huawei phone app and import it to your watch, or how to click on a point on a map when running and get directions to that point
No and No I’m afraid. There are two golf features that are missing…I will run through the pros and cons in my full review. For a feature packed watch at a great price, there are one or two features, especially from a golfers perspective that are frustratingly missing
Just looked through the menus, I can’t see. Way to change it from yards. Even though the units in the main menu of the app are set to metric. According to this post on Facebook it’s seems some regions have the ability to change the units in the golf apps but it’s not been rolled out here in the UK facebook.com/share/p/18nDu4eyXA/?mibextid=wwXIfr
There's the ultimate, which is around £750. which appears to be their equivalent of the Garmin Marq range. Looks like it has a few more golf features. Maybe I'll check out that watch for a future video.
I prefer my Galaxy watch 7 with the basic hole 19 app. Dont like watches with a prominent bezel as they can go back to home screen when you take a golf swing as with the google pixel watch. Also do not like to hold the bezel to unlock the watch screen hence the reason why i have the Samsung watch 7.
The screen and crown lock are optional when playing golf, but on a small wrist like mine I have to have it on as it would move the holes around and go back to the home screen when it rubbed against my glove like you say. Will certainly be highlighting that in my full review
Do you mean you'd rather have to charge your SW7 before going to the golf course? Because you don't like the GT5 Pro model whose battery lasts about 14 days, good luck with that.
Yes I bought a galaxy watch 7. Horrified at the battery life. Literallyhad it on my wrist for abot 10 mins. . I'll definitely get one of these as I have been wearing the Gt2 for 3 years. So much easier to navigate and use. :)
I want to buy this watch due to I think it's better than garmin S62 (I want your opinion about this) And also I want to know, for golf course mode is it possible not using any map? just GPS only or scorecard only, I ask this because I think the local golf course nearby from me will not listed in the app Please let me know before I buy it, appreciate your help before hand
I'd say just the screen, the looks and materials, and the price are better than the S62...for everything else, the S62 is the same or better. No you can't use the golf mode without any map.
Hmm, i am strength competitor in my weight class of 80KG and i mainly perform the 3 big lifts, bench press, deadlift, squat and ofc some other bodybuilding stuff during the week. I didnt saw weight lifting or strength training or anything that can at least track my pulse during the workout 🤨 Like... how is this even possible to be missed on a sport watch :S , ofc i wear Polar H10 chest strap for the most accurate measuring, but sometimes i dont like to wear it and im sick of Apple's daily charging and their shape so i had my eyes on this being multi day battery watch and have the sapphire and circle like form factor.
I’ll cover that off in my full review (which I’m just finishing writing up). I go the gym a couple of times a week for some light strength training, and I have to record my workouts under ‘other’. There are work out programs locked behind the HUAWEI paywall, which then seem to use their own activity tracking, but in your case, I’m afraid it seems to be limited to ‘other’, which just tracks your heart rate, and the time….not great. It looks like you can create a custom workout…I’ll have a play with that to see what it can track. I suspect no more than the above, but at least it means workouts aren’t saved under ‘other’ I guess. The Garmin S70 I tested before (essentially an Epix gen2) had a specific ‘workout’ activity, that would then feed in to your training load data, if you cared about that kinda stuff.
@@GolfGuyReviews Ty mate, time and how much time i spend in each HR zone is all i need :) And the possibility to connect to chest strap so the strap modify the HR results in the app for more accurate assumptions regarding training load and recovery. This just shows how dumb we get as humans , long ago nobody needed a watch to tell him if he slept good or not, and i definitely never needed a watch to tell me how much should i recover, but now even with their absolutely wrong data we are doing everything to have that 😂 Soon it will tell me when im horny and how many " sessions" do i need.
I’ve just seen, within ‘custom’ there’s LOADS of other types of activities that can be added to the list…and the top one - Strength Training 🤣 Whether that has a meaningful effect on recovery levels, I don’t know. But at least it’s not recorded under ‘other’ 👍
@@GolfGuyReviews ahhh I see. It has many advanced features and yet missing the simplest thing which is the ringtone 😢. Thanks btw. I thought I was the only one.

How is connectivity to 3rd party apps like Strava for recording runs and cycling? Or is that covered in your full review? Thanks

@ Cool thanks. Its definitely the best value watch taking into account materials etc but hard to say no to the new Garmins 🧐
Very useful, thank you🎉
No worries, thanks for watching 👍
Nice looking watch. I assume after you have teed off and walk down the fairway the yardage to the green reduces on the screen.
Yeah it updates as you move…although it is missing a few golf features that really let it down in my opinion…but with that said it’s an incredible price for what you’re getting…a similarly spec’d Garmin would cost more than double
Bro, can you select a point on the map watch and then go there by turn by turn like Garmin?
I don’t know, but I’ll try it tomorrow and let you know 👍

Does it recommend what club to hit? can you save your distances for your clubs?
No and No I’m afraid. There are two golf features that are missing…I will run through the pros and cons in my full review.

Hi, are you able to change distances to meters for the golf

@@GolfGuyReviews what about in New Zealand? we use meters here. thanks
I think they do a golf version of the watch too

Where to purchase in Puerto Rico
Sorry, I don’t know. Hopefully someone can help
what is the name of the watch face?
Green large pointer
Thanks so much
No problem

this huawei or amazfit balance?
Sorry I’ve not tried the amazfit
Balance has been showing consistency on regular updates. Huawei is famous for abandoning the watches once new generations rise

can you disconnect the bluetooth of huawei gt5 pro
I don’t see an option to toggle Bluetooth off

Is there a way to disable the screen saver mode when the watch is on always on mode?
I’ve just looked, I don’t think so

do you know how to change the ringtone?
It seems like you can't customise the ring tine - I always have the watch on mute so not something I noticed

im sure you would get better at golf if you sent more time off your watch
But then I wouldn’t be able to provide reviews from an average golfers’ perspective? 🤣🏌️♂️
