      @@marieharriet one of the reasons i don't vlog 😂I know I'd never post it once I've had to edit it. I'm so socially awkward so I'd be a fool on camera 🤣 You make it look fun so I may end up giving it a try!

    I have been struggling lately with feeling like I’m not doing enough. My daughters and I started our candle business to support my son who was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS in June of 2021. We didn’t know what was wrong for 5 months because his symptoms were so strange. He was a home builder and was falling and losing feeling in his legs. Then his eye sight went and he couldn’t see what he was doing and had to quit his job. He couldn’t drive because he couldn’t see and he could no longer walk or stand for any length of time. He was finally admitted into the hospital and diagnosed with PPMS. He was 21 at the time of his diagnosis and really struggled with what he was going to do and how he was going to make peace with his new normal. His sisters and I decided to start a candle business to help support him since he could no longer work and to help pay for medical costs that were mounting on a daily basis. When he is feeling strong he helps make candles and vessels. Lately I have been working 6 to 7 days a week and usually get 1 day off in 2 weeks. My son has a lot of appointments so some of my time has to go to that. I’m feeling so exhausted lately just keeping up with my full-time job and my sons appointments and MS treatment. My struggle is if I don’t produce and sell a certain amount of candles a month then I can’t pay for his monthly bills and medical costs. I’m so tired though and just wish I could curl up for a week and sleep. How does everyone keep going when they feel so tired? I just feel like I’m being lazy if I don’t keep working through it. Anyone have any advice?

      Sarah, I appreciate you for being open and sharing this. I can’t imagine at all what you, your son, and your family are going through but I am truly inspired by your strength and support for your family. I hope business in candles is going well for you so it can help pay those medical bills and I hope you somehow receive the rest you need and deserve. I wish I could help. 😔

    Hi hi, just discovered your channel and started binge watching this week. I love your honesty and laid back approach, it feels like you’re a friend in front of me and we’re just hanging out talking about things we like doing. I want to make some wax melts for Christmas gifts for my fire fearing friends, can I use 464 soy wax for those? Thanks so much!

    Hi! Was wondering if you could teach me how to make candles?
    I've been testing for 4 months. I use GB464 and HTP wicks. I know you're using Eco series.
    I just couldn't get a good hot throw.
    I heat up to 185-190F. Fragrance oil at 180.
    Pour at 135. Cure for 3 weeks. Fragrance oil at 10%.
    What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

    • @marieharriet
      @marieharriet  2 роки тому +1

      Hey love! Those are honestly the exact steps I follow except I use mostly eco wicks and I started pouring at 150. I’m not sure if that will help but I’d give it a try! Also do you put lids on your candles after you make them? Sometimes if I let mine cure for a while without lids, the cold throw doesn’t seem to be as strong. One moreeee thing.. do you let others test out your candles? From getting input from customers, I realized that my sense of smell isn’t as strong as others’ 😅 so I’ve always found out that my candles are stronger than I think they are.

      @0320tammy 2 роки тому

      @@marieharriet hi! Yes I put lids right away. I will try changing my wicks. I don't know where to get CD wicks here but definitely will order some Eco series. Thanks!

      @@marieharriet I haven't given anyone my candles yet. (Because of the HT) I've tested sooo many already and started making melts because I couldn't get my candles to have a good HT. 🤔

    I’m late to this vid.. just wanted to throw my 2cent in & say, while I understand your “embarrassment”, I feel it’s maybe more just insecurity maybe. I say that bc you’re doing the hardest part imo--making the videos, filming them-being in them!!! Lol! Some of us, like me, while I don’t want pity or anything like that, some of us out here can’t make vids due to things like insane/debilitating anxiety…so, to me, you’re already doing a great f&cking job. As far as making your vids, whether you choose to watch them, they serve a purpose-you never know who out there may NEED your vids (no pressure or anything!) That’s just to say that you never know who’s life you’re changing, who’s deciding to start their business bc they’ve watched your vids & been inspired, who’s having a shit day & are beginning to spiral & your vid calms them, etc. I think you should obviously make them to document your progress-I think this is where some ppl fail bc they can’t see the mistakes they’ve made or where things could be improved…making vids is a smart way to keep track of things even if you don’t watch them for another year or so. As long as you enjoy making them, that’s all that matters. Not only that, the more vids you do, the more confident you’ll probably become in doing them…& they’ll serve your audience as well. Overall you’re doing something that ppl your age usually don’t have the confidence to do/the motivation to do or have been to told they won’t be able to survive doing so they don’t even try doing, so that in itself is an awesome thing & something to be incredibly proud of. Hope this helps & take your time getting back out into the world--there’s no rush-you have plenty of time & overdoing it usually isn’t good for physical or mental health (I speak from experience from being an extreme hermit…before covid..lol!) Take care!
