Good for u Amy! We keep the Sabbath for years, but our rest day starts sundown Friday to sundown Saturday because Saturday is the seventh day. What a blessing!
I am a Christian and have started keeping the 4th commandment of observing the sabbath which is the 7th day, Saturday! I also start Friday night sundown to Saturday sundown as described in the Bible. ❤🙌🏻🙏🏼
I love the Sabbath day! I love gathering with family and friends at church to worship. I also almost never cook on Sabbath, I usually prepare the day before also. Something about starting the week with rest and total reset makes a huge difference in our week!
My husband and I started what you are describing in this video about 4 weeks ago. Didn't expect to run across someone else doing this too. It is wonderful!!! I plan and begin cooking on Friday, finish up cooking on Saturday before the evening since technically "the evening and the morning were the first day". Orthodox Christians consider the new day to begin at sunset. We do Bible reading and prayers before early to bed, which sets the stage for rest until Sunday evening. Many churches have vespers Saturday evening but ours does not. We find that the less we do during our sabbath the more restful. For instance, spending time with family is a sabbath practice but yesterday we went out to breakfast with our son and grandchildren. It was wonderful and I wouldn't trade anything for that time with them, but the day wasn't as restful as it would be if we had gone to the park or just done nothing at all. So glad we finally took a chance and got an Instant Pot last Christmas. We don't have TV or do any social media, unless UA-cam is considered social media. On week days we read Scripture and do our prayers and also read interesting books aloud. Our lives are so much more restful than they would be if we followed the news or watched TV.
Great video ! I thought you were plant based . We are also Christians . My husband Pastored two churches. worked for eighteen years as a hospital Chaplain . He is now retired? I don't think Ministers ever retire . I am lactose intolerant ... will have to try some of your recipes !!
I have an autoimmune disease and the research that I have done it is recommended that a diet with organic meats is best. I like that butcher box is grass feed and grass finished. It is healthier. I use to rest on the Sabbath but I just have a hard time stopping and enjoying the peace. I should work on that.
I am new to your channel and was very excited to see that you were plant based and keeping shabbat. But after watching this video I'm confused why you are cooking pork and cooking on shabbat morning.

My family keeps the seventh-day Sabbath also (as do my and my husband’s extended families). It is such a blessing!

Amy, are you moving away from plant-based eating? Just curious, since I haven’t seen you make meat based recipes in the past couple of years.
Did you find adding meat back to your diet impacted your autoimmune disease?

Yep me too
Are you not doing UA-cam anymore???
The Sabbath is Saturday the Jewish Holy Day. Sunday is the Lord's Day because Jesus rose from the dead on that day.
It’s not a “Jewish Holy Day” it’s The Fathers (God) Holy Day.
I will un subscribe
