A View to a Kill was a blatant ripoff of Goldfinger and deserves to be at the bottom of the list (of official Bond movies). Other than that, the only thing this list got right was the Top 3! Thunderball is better than GoldenEye? Moonraker in the middle of the pack?! You should've swapped Moonraker with Octopussy, which was a much better Bond film. Moonraker basically just recycled the plot of The Spy Who Loved Me, swapping colonization underwater to colonization in outer space. You Only Live Twice is Connery's worst as James Bond. Diamonds are Forever was better than that. You really need to watch these movies again.
ThunderBall is better than GoldenEye which is over rated probably because brosnans other three are so bad. How die another day isn't second from bottom I don't know there are defiantly more bad things I need the film then just the special effects.
The Man with the Golden Gun getting such a ranking is absurd. That was not that bad a movie. A cringe Bond girl to be fair, but the plot was good, the setting was good and a solid cast.
The Man with the Golden Gun does not deserve such a ranking to be fair. Other than an awful Bond girl, that movie was pretty good. The acting was decent as well as the plot and as usual Christopher Lee showed his ability to play an interesting villain.
You know in my opinion its also not the best Bond ranking you can do but each and every single one of us have different tastes and opinions. I‘m proud to say that Octopussy is my alltime favourite! No problem with that!
@@barthotuber6429 OctoPussy gets a bad rep and I dont get why. Good action, Moore as some great 1 liners and the villain Khan is one of the franchise best. In my top 5 easy.
Connery: The Classical Bond Lazenby: The Tragic Bond Moore: The Funny Bond Dalton: The Ruthless Bond Brosnan: The Smooth Bond Craig: The Realistic Bond
@@JeremiahEcks777 they're remind me of how Batman actors ranked: Connery- Keaton Moore- West Lazenby- Affleck Dalton- Kilmer Brosnan- Clooney Craig- Bale
@@abangemirzaihanabangzulkip9502 Oh wow, ironically Kilmer is my by far least favourite Batman and Dalton is my favourite Bond. So I just can't see that! 🥺
saying that Monica Bellucci is a bond girl in Spectre tells me that this list is made by someone who hasn't watched the movies and just read plot overview somewhere and is now guessing
I agree roger moore was a different bond and man with golden gun this is what happens when people dont know movies mojo more like blowholes dont know bond dont do lists
I love every Bond up to goldeneye..in my opinion, Bronson only had one good film then after that i didn't care for them. Although i haven't seen tomorrow never dies, the world is not enough and die another day in yrrrrrs, maybe ill feel differently now.
@@jackcampion3838 ill be watching it in the coming days. Im going through the series again. Im on goldeneye right now, so it will be great to watch them.
Do you guys hate Roger Moore or what? Putting Live and Let Die so low is insane. Same goes for Man With the Golden Gun. On another note, Goldeneye should be top 5 every time. It always gets overshadowed by the video game, but it's a great movie too. One of the most original villains thought up from a real piece of history, the best side characters, great commentary on post Soviet Russia and James Bond as a character... the list goes on.
Roger Moore was borderline effeminate! Worst Bond ever! Can't even watch the Bond films of the Eighties! Need another Sean Connery! Daniel Craig just doesn't hit the mark! Neither did ANY of them! Connery made you believe he was a killer! Dangerous.
@@tnret94 I feel like the world is not enough to be underrated but that's becuase I used to enjoy that one along with golden eye, obviously golden eye aged better and I can see why not everyone likes TWINE, but no die another day is easily the worst bond film so that ranking is a sin
Yep, the movie might overload the campyness sometimes but 10 movies in celebrating your own series impact on popular culture by "reliving the greatest hits, but also upstaging as much as possible" was fine by me. It's a great Bond film, even if it simultaneously makes fun of the "traditional Bond plot and villain" while itself doing a great job of delivering the classic action we all love.
It's hard for me to rank them overall. I prefer to rank my faves by actor... Sean Connery - Goldfinger George Lazenby - Not really a choice here Roger Moore - For Your Eyes Only Timothy Dalton - The Living Daylights (I love Licence to Kill just as much, so this one is tough... he's probably my favorite Bond) Pierce Brosnan - GoldenEye Daniel Craig - Casino Royale (I go back and forth between this, and Skyfall... love them both)
nice ... timothy dalton in my oppinion was the most realistic bond ... he didnt give 2 shits what people thought of him . a military guy through and through .
My Ranking Sean Connery: Goldfinger. George Lazenby: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. (unsurprisingly). Roger Moore: Moonraker. Timothy Dalton: License to Kill. Pierce Brosnan: GoldenEye. Daniel Craig: Skyfall.
The people at looper obviously love the gritty version of Bond, which is fine in and of itself. But, when you rate the snorefests of Solace and Spectre higher than most of Brosnan and Moore you really don’t understand the 007 films.
JRGProjects I have a problem with the semi-truck folding in half and doing a wheelie. If they hadn't included that bit I'd say it was perfect. Why did they have to include that bit??? They ruined perfection!!!
The Fibler Just watched that last night. I like everything about that movie, the music, the car, the characters. Too bad that lawsuit happened and Dalton couldn't have made a couple more movies.
Eh, I still wanted more Brosnan Bond movies. Maybe it was just how I grew up knowing Bond, but he's always been my favorite Bond by far and the way they did him dirty when he wanted to do another movie or two, I can just never get on board with his replacement after that.
@@majorpwner241 he got to old and they had gotten the rights to casino royale back so they wanted to make that a movie and brosnan didn’t look young anymore
Couldn't agree with you more. Sadly looper is very unreliable when it comes to creating quality content. They either tell you what you already know or they show how little they know about the material they are supposed to be reviewing.
Pin my opinion Daniel Craig was worst choice of James Bond actor and confirms after watched 2 movies in half not even see until the end of each movie it was enough, but younger generations likes it
This lis is confused and obviously put together by people who are not Bond fans. The half assed remake of Thunderball is better than the Living Daylights? Are you guys smoking crack?
well obviously they are just acting like they know what they are talking about, I mean at one point they say one of the films didnt exactly keep up with the source material... when movies like octopussy are absolutely nothing like the original story. and if source material is one of the basis for this list then Timothy Daltons bond movies should be much higher in general since his bond is the truest to the source material.
Gerry C ... The Spy Who Loved Me is a remake of You Only Live Twice(both directed by Lewis Gilbert) with the ending cribbed from the Diamonds are Forever script that they couldn't be arsed to film. Similarly... License to Kill used a lot of story elements from Live and Let Die that they didn't want to film and the same actor played Leiter!
_Suburban_ me too.. the list is well argued but some of the choices are off base. I do give props for rating the villains and "scenery" separate from the movie because both elements are important to a successful Bond outing. Nothing wrong with pointing out Herve Villechaise for being a better villain/henchman than most you will find in the series. Spy Who Loved Me should be rated higher.
1. Octopussy 2. Casino Royale 2006 3. On Her Majesty‘s Secret Service 4. For Your Eyes Only 5. The Living Daylights 6. Live And Let Die 7. GoldenEye 8. You Only Live Twice 9. Goldfinger 10. The Spy Who Loved Me 11. Spectre 12. The World Is Not Enough 13. Thunderball 14. Diamonds Are Forever 15. Dr. No 16. A View To A Kill 17. Skyfall 18. Moonraker 19. Tomorrow Never Dies 20. From Russia With Love 21. Die Another Day 22. Casino Royale 1954 23. The Man With The Golden Gun 24. Quantum Of Solace 25. Never Say Never Again 26. Casino Royale 1967 27. Licence To Kill
Wasn't completely Moore's fault, in most things he is pretty good, but the campy, bullshit comedy approach was just that, bullshit. Just a bad time for Bond movies, but Moore also could have retained more control over his character portrayal.
THE SPY WHO LOVED ME and FOR YOUR EYES ONLY are vaguely salvageable action flicks, but otherwise the real virtue of Roger Moore's Bond films is that they made Mike Myers' movie career possible.
I'm 47 years old.. and when the Sunday night movie special would come on my Dad would always let me stay up late to watch James Bond... it was some great memories with my dad... so growing up in the 70s and 80s Rodger Moore was definitely my favorite but I love all of Sean Connery's movies except for never say never
Goldeneye was my first Bond movie as a kid and Brosnan and Craig were really the only Bonds I knew. I recently decided to start at the beginning and watch them all through. While I enjoyed the Sean Connery ones (except Diamonds Are Forever), I just finished The Man With The Golden Gun and am loving the Roger Moore ones. Excited to keep going!
Also another 80s kid growing up in India. Moore and Connery were the quintessential Bonds. One suave and stylish and the other simply iconic. My favorite all time Bond was Moonraker for the breadth of the plot and special effects which to this day hold out well.
I grew up in the 80's and 90's with Connery and Moore as Bonds. Never accepted Dalton or Brosnan. Craig was fine. Just yesterday I watched Lazenby for the first time and it was fantastic! I felt like a kid again.
Is this list in order? Or is it just randomly naming all of the movies? He doesn't speak about them like they're actually getting better. I wholeheartedly disagree with this list and it seems like the speaker does too.
@J J yeah Im sorry but I don't see how the heck he is deciding this ranking, it seems like he has no knowledge of film at all and that he hates Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. Plus he does this on most of his rankings were he is really biassed against something or someone and appears to not know what he is talking about but is trying to sound like he does
Yes, the list seems to suffer from clusters: a bunch of Moore movies in a row, a bunch of Craig movies in a row, etc. And, really, putting _all_ of the early Bonds at the top is a bit ridiculous.
I`d put it in the middle but it`s not among the best. It got visually one of the best ending duels and a fantastic villain and a promising personal plot but overall there`s just better in the franchise.
Connery was the best Bond and "Goldfinger" was the best of all the Bond films. But Timothy Dalton's entries were two of the greatest when it came to Bond's characterization and the action sequences. Connery was the most handsome Bond, no doubt. But Dalton was the most elegant with the most empathy.
it was somewhat of a recycled plot. like the whole idea of someone trying to cause a major war by playing both sides was done multiple times already in the series
No Bond fan will ever agree on which Bond films are the best - it makes a massive difference depending on when you saw it, what type of Bond film you like and why you specifically like them. E.g - Licence to Kill, in my humble opinion, is amazing, because I like a darker James Bond - but some people hate it, because they prefer a slightly lighter style. Die Another Day is shit, though.
Magneto Metal Bender Well, I thought the first 20 minutes were great, and the rest was an utter mess, but hey ho, glad you got some enjoyment out of it :)
I definitely agree with your top 5 Bond selections. Goldfinger is the best, particularly if you were alive and old enough to know what was happening. The 007 Bond craze had swept the Western world and there was a lot of pressure to follow up on "From Russia With Love." Goldfinger exceeded expectations and even its theme song by Shirley Bassy was spectacular. As a total package, Goldfinger is at the top.
Putting A View to a Kill below turds like Diamonds are Forever, License to Kill, and For Your Eyes Only made me cringe. A View to a Kill may not be the best, it's easily towards to bottom of Moore's list, but Christopher Walkins performance is quintessential Bond villain cheese.
friskynixon that was Bronson's best next to goldeneye this list is terrible. Quantum of solace, license to kill, world is not enough, & diamonds r for ever and a view to a kill should all be at the bottom. The top one on the list for me is thunderball. Best ending (which was used in the dark knight) and one of the prettiest Bond girls.
friskynixon because the movie was just another bond movie i mean a media mogul wanting to create war just for ratings so ridiculous though the actor was quite good
Not that ridiculous. Ratings use to be important for all media. Having a monopoly on the media would be the wet dream of many people on the Left and Right these days. I mean, Carver was making fake news before it became a hashtag.
There’s just something about roger Moore playing bond that made me like him the most. Whenever I think of James Bond. Roger comes to mind immediately. Then of course Sean.
Same way. I got introduced to Bond through late night Cable TV movies. The Roger Moore films tended to be a perfect fit for that time slot when you are tired but cant sleep. They had enough plot to make them interesting, but not so deep that you lost your place if you dozed off for a while. They were campy without being cringy. You could just lie back and watch Bond Trope after Bond Trope.
@@antontheone8602 y is that bad? It had a good love story and a good fight & strong script! I would rate it as the 1st best bond movie to which people of all cultures internationally were able to connect.
IMO, QOS is a damn good film. It might not work in a vacuum, i. e. without the knowledge of Casino Royale, but that's its only flaw along with a weak title song. It's the most different and courageous film in the series next to Licence to Kill and even beyond that probably. It's short, action packed, to the point, not self indulgent, void of the usual Bond tropes while still being a Bond film, the cinematography and visuals overall are beautiful (you can see the movie was very expensive) , Olga Kurylenko is IMO one of the most beautiful Bond girls (my top 5 for sure). The opening car chase and the fight scenes are expertly made, they are seriously underrated. Then there are the more artistic overtones with the opera scene and the fact the director specifically built four action scenes around the four elements (Earth, Fire, Water, Wind) to sort of echo the theme of taking resources from the Earth. Greene was a good villain, because he too was to the point, practical, not some OTT cartoonish villain or villain with cartoonish ambitions as is usual for the series. He was just a ruthless businessman basically. QOS probably went too far from the formula for most people's tastes, that's why it's so ignored, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gains a following in the coming years, similar to how it happened to OHMSS.
I liked quantum of solace because it was more realistic and had a plot that, like license to kill, seemed remotely plausible. I get a kick out of the people who talk about Roger Moore's 'not being realistic'. Yeah, right, this is REALLY how international intelligence works. Apart from the skydive which may actually be possible but seemed like a real stretch, the film had a more gritty and realistic feel that I enjoyed more than most bond films. The bad guy though, what the *&^% was that? Effiminate french guy and his sidekick, uh, I don't know, what the hell was THAT! But compared to Spectre, which was just out and out ridiculous and by the book, this was a great second half of casino royale. Although the girl with the oil kind of reminded you that its 'all made up' (I know, I know). Anyway, Man with the Golden Gun suffers from having the WORST bad guy killing ending of all the bond films, and that includes live and let die's 'being inflated til you explode'. They both were interesting, like all bond films, but I don't think could be said to be 'better' than quantum, which suffers from the worst title of any bond film. I think that suffered from most people having little idea what EITHER word int he title meant.
@Tai Chi Tube I was going to say that was crazy but thats actually an interesting idea-whether they changed the character enough that it was a whole new character. I'm not sure I agree but its an interesting idea.
@Tai Chi Tube OK, I'd have to say I always wondered whether the guys name was actually 'james bond'. I kind of assumed it was like '007' because no secret agent would be dumb enough to be walking around introducing himself with his real name-no wonder his wife was killed in OHMSS. But for Craig they actually made more of an extensive backstory than most bonds. I'd say there are at least two bonds, but I haven't read the books. However, I think Dalton was the first Bond to outright disobey orders and in the next movie quit. Brosnan also did that, as did Craig. But I seem to recall that Connery and Moore's Bonds were always very loyal, two different actors, but that aspect seemed the same. However, 'he' certainly has similar characteristics- he's always kind of dumb and gets lucky or a gadget that constantly gets him out of trouble. Agents are typically the OPPOSITE of that. He was always sarcastic but while he always killed poeple, like Moore said of Craig, he's the first guy to make you believe he'd REALLY kill people. The other movies, even with Brosnan, seemed more cartoony, even Connery. It doesn't help when you have to call somebody 'pussy galore' or 'octopussy'. At least Dalton stopped that kind of nonsense, it didn't re emerge until Brosnans film tried to make you believe in invisible cars, John Cleese, and Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist. Even Brosnan said he knew soemthing was up after the Bourne Identity, but now apparantly Craig wants to bring more 'irony' to Bond, I don't know what that means, but I guess all bonds get tired of being told by directors "look at the camera like a smug prick". Thats all I can say about that. I like Craigs movies because they were pretty well written, even with the usual Bond tropes. I usually like different ones for different reasons, but I really don't see Craig as being a 'different' person. Brosnan and Dalton had similar looks, but Connery looked kind of freakish in at least a couple of them. Anyway, on a final point, on my feed is an interview with alan rickman. He'd have made a good bond as well. But as I've said elsewhere, I think Patrick McGoohan would have made a kickass James Bond, he made a pretty kickass John Drake.
What a bizarre list. The narrator claims NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN is better than THUNDERBALL - then gives THUNDERBALL a higher ranking. He also says GOLDENEYE is the best Bond film ever - as he lists it at number seven on the list!
carmad59 I disagree. Although it was between Casino and Skyfall. The reason I took Casino, is because It breathed life into a (arguably) dying franchise. Casino delivers a bond film grounded in realism, but still with all the charm of the originals. Without Casino, the Skyfall film would not have its backdrop. Skyfall is far more of a sequel to Casino than it is to Quantum. This further supports my statement of Skyfall needing Casino. Casino is a gritty, fast paced study into Bonds origin. For that reason alone I have to give Casino the edge due to it being unconventional for a Bond film. Casino you can watch as your introduction to the Bond films (as it was for me, and yes it may be why I am leaning towards Casino). Skyfall, it seems to work best if you have seen some previously. So yes I could easily swap Casino for Skyfall, I just prefer Casino more. We are all entitled to our opinions however and this is merely mine.
Any bond fan will have their favourite actor, bond girls, gadgets, villans and movies and as we are all dirrerent we will always have different opinions. The Bond movies started in 1962 and are still going in 2020 so 58 years I think that says it all.
THANK YOU I always thought I was the only one who liked a view to a kill, I give it credit for being one of the first bond movies to go full on action movie
@@hottestcheese7973 Personally I don't rank View to a Kill highly, but it's certainly not as bad as put here. The Duran Duran theme alone puts it far above some others.
Dr. No- Rating 9/10. It was a classic, and I love his weaponry and his caution towards all things. Dr. No was intense and I loved how cheesy and classic this was. I like how Dr. No was hidden for half the film. One of the best plots.
Speaking of weaponry...did you notice the big continuity error? When Bond is hiding in the brush shooting at the "fire breathing dragon", there's one shot of him holding a Colt M1911A-1 .45 automatic! LOL
My Bosnan era ranking: 4.-Die Another Day 3.-The World is not Enough 2.-Tomorrow Never Dies 1.-Goldeneye About Craig: Apparently I'm one of the few people on the planet who thinks Skyfall was better than Casino Royale. (and my favorite bond film yet) Casino was doing great until they turn it into a love story and give us 1 hour of Bond and Vesper Kissing. At that point i wonder if this is this still a spy/action film... I admit is perfectly written, acted, and filmed but if they sell me and action thriller i expect and action thriller, not a romance film...
Rodrigo Gil I thought I was the only one that liked Skyfall better. I think casino royale is superb (sounds like i enjoyed the romance more than you did) but the way Skyfall destroys your expectations is masterful.
I agree - Casino Royale was a great Bond film but it's criminally overrated and shouldn't be near the top 3 imo. I find it strange that people put CR above Goldeneye etc. It's one of those films that I've never understood why people rate it so highly
Apparently you haven’t fully heard the plot of the novel, where the poker element and the romance element each take up half of the time. The Casino Royale movie is actually very faithful to the book, and even fixes some of the pacing. I do prefer Skyfall though, as it’s definitely the most humane and personal of the Craig films.
@@adoptedlobster9900 Quantum has a more interesting concept but Tomorrow Never Dies had more time and isn't sloppy like Quantum. I do like TWINE though
Clearly the best Roger Moore Bond. There was a gap of four years before Spy who Loved Me came out. Golden Gun was so bad I think they took their time with this one. And it worked.
Live and Let Die should be much higher. Start with the fantastic theme song by Paul McCartney and the Wings, Jane Seymour as you mentioned is one of the best, and the film has probably the greatest chase in the series. Those speed boats jumping and tearing around the bayou are incredible. Plus Sheriff JW Pepper is easily the funniest thing in the whole Bond franchise.
I can only agree with you on two things from this ranking: 1)Goldfinger is (in mine & most ppls opinion) the best bond film from Conery. 2) The Spy Who Loved Me (at least imo) is the best bond film from Roger Moore. As for the overall movie rankings, we'll agree to disagree.
My top ten 1. Casino Royale 2. From Russia With Love 3. Goldfinger 4. Skyfall 5. Goldeneye 6. License to Kill 7. Dr. No 8. OHMSS 9. Thunderball 10. The Spy Who Loved Me

Live And Let Die 20. Quantum of Solace 21. Diamonds Are Forever 22. A View To A Kill 23. Die Another Day 24. Octopussy
Great list....I actually like Spectre better than Skyfall....I think the theme song by Adele overshadowed this average James Bond film, Daniel Craig half ass the acting acting in this one, everybody shines better than him....including the Moneypenny actress.
@Steven Davies Tomorrow Never Dies is a lot better than most people give it credit for. Considering where we are in the US, a media mogul vying for world domination doesn't seem so far fetched of an idea as it did 25 years ago.
I mean... I'm all up for people having their own unique opinions... But if someone is claiming that their list is the definitive and factual list then it better be based on how well the films objectively fair. Again though, if this list is 100% their personal opinion then great! I have some strange opinions when it comes to things like this too, but I get a feeling that the list is more just thrown together to make a list and less to express personal opinion.
Roger Moore was my favourite Bond, Connery was great and Craig is brilliant. The only good thing about this list is that it gets a reaction from people who actually know their Bond movies.
thisjacktansley Umm yeah, these are all very new Bond films. I don‘t think, you‘ve seen all of them especially as S.P.E.C.T.R.E. is not very good. But Skyfall is my favorite, too.
I've seen all of them except the non-canon ones such as Never Say Never Again and Casino Royale (1954/1967). Spectre and Quantum of Solace definitely aren't solid films. I'd probably ask him to delve a bit deeper into the Bond movies, since there's more than just Dalton and Craig. For context - here's my top five. 1) Casino Royale (2006) 2) License to Kill 3) Goldfinger 4) Goldeneye 5) On Her Majesty's Secret Service _(sadly, live and let die misses out on the fifth spot.)_
@Pyry Kalanen - To say that anything other than the Craig and Dalton movies are garbage shows that you aren't very familiar with the series as a whole. If you were, I guarantee Quantum of Solace and Spectre wouldn't be in your top 4. Both are bottom tier compared to all the others.
Absolutely. The movie had a charm to it that no other Bond movie can match. Him having it so low tells me he didn't actually watch these movies but read a critics list. Try actually watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service without falling asleep
My Ranking personal 1- Our Majesty's Secret Service 2- Casino Royale 3- Goldfinger 4- From Russia with Love 5- Skyfall 6- Dr. NO 7- The Spy who Loved Me 8- Licence to Kill 9- The Living Daylights 10- Thunderball 11- You Only Live Twice 12- Only for your Eyes 13- GoldenEye 14- Live and Let Die 15- Octopussy 16- No Time to Die 17- Spectre 18- Quantum of Solace 19- Tomorrow Never Dies 20- The World is Not Enough 21-Moonraker 22- The Man with the Golden Gun 23- A View to Kill 24- Diamonds are Forever 25- Die Another Day
Agreed - I think it's down to the era of the bond fans ... if Doulton's films were released when Brosnan's films were and vice versa the perception of bond films in terms of rankings would be different... When I was a kid it was all about Connory and Moore - Doulton was frowned upon ... watching the films now in my 30s I cringe at most of the Moore Films and can only watch Dr no and Goldfinger out of the Connory ones.. the two doulton ones are in my top 5 and I can watch them over and again.. Daniel Craig is the best bond but Spectre was a letdown... when I look back at brosnan's films they were gash - only tomorrow never dies is rewatchable...
Here are my top 5. As someone who has been watching Bond since I came out of the womb. In no particular order; Goldfinger, Live and Let Die, Diamonds Are Forever, Casino Royale(Daniel Craig), The Living Daylights (Had to put Timothy Dalton on the list, because he deserves it for his great portrayal), and the bonus one, Golden Eye. Here is a diverse list of great Bond movies spanning all the great Bonds.
I could talk about my list for hours and hours. Frankly, I was surprised that you had "Moonraker" ahead of "Live and Let Die." I also think that "Die Another Day" is ranked too high and "The Living Daylights" and "The Spy Who Loved Me" were ranks too low. I appreciate that "You Only Live Twice" and "License to Kill" were ranked relatively high, as well. Personally, I believe that "For Your Eyes Only" is the most underrated Bond film of all time.
I liked it. Jonathan Pryce is a great villain and the story is pretty good. Goldeneye is my favorite Brosnan film (probably my favorite out of the entire series), but Tomorrow Never Dies comes a close second.
EddieEastSiders.........TND has grown on me, and i do like it.........to me its not a great Bond film with action, but a great action film with Bond in it.......do you agree?
Nice to see the Dalton bonds higher on your list than usual. Golden gun is my fave Moore bond movie. And as i watch how the “serious bond” movies increase in respect as years go by, i keep wondering how good it might have been had the poosibly first, then possibly second bond had said yes to either offer- the Dangerman himself, Patrick McGoohan. And as to people lamenting the low rankings of Roger Moore on this list; his films were borderline cartoons by studio fiat, Moore himself was far better as the Saint than as Bond.
I'm glad they ranked Her Majesty's Secret Service as high as they did. That movie is waaay underrated because it's not Connery or Moore playing Bond. But if you actually watch the 60s, 70s and 80s Bond movies back to back, that movie stands out and has aged well. Unlike Diamonds Are Forever which is hard to watch now.
My top five were: 1. Goldfinger. 2. Casino royal(2006). 3. Thunderball. 4. Skyfall. 5. Man with the goldengun Also Timothy Dalton was a criminally underrated bond, he was merely a rough and rugged bond before people were ready for it, very similar to Daniel Craig, I was very impressed by Timothy Dalton
Every guy to his opinion. Bottom of the list I’d put “Casino Royale” and “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”- easily forgotten films, and the Daniel Craig casting was a big mistake to me( I just can’t buy him as Bond) so those also make near the bottom of my list. At the top I’d also have “Goldfinger”, and I remember when “Live and Let Die” came out, I didn’t think I’d like it, because it wasn’t Sean Connery, but ended up loving Roger Moore, and with it’s injection of humor (the Sheriff “Secret agent? On whose side?”), wild boat chase, and Kananga as the villain so it’s near the top for me as well.
That's because we want bond as womanizer ,and distinguish, and Craig can't sell it as Bond,on the other hand he is awesome assassin , killing machine the way he beats 4 agents in the elevator,or at spectre were he breaks the tire up and kills 3 goons with hood on his head
Daniel Kearsley I prefer it by miles over Licence to kill and its even in my top 5! 1. Octopussy 2. Casino Royale 3. On Her Majesty‘s Secret Service 4. For Your Eyes Only 5. The Living Daylights
Daniel Kearsley Timothy Dalton portrays bond perfectly but Pierce Brosnan is my favourite, adding the charisma and charm Dalton lacked whilst maintaining a thrilling interpretation of the character
I'd put Living Daylights much higher. Dalton is a great balance between intense and funny/likable, the plot was plausible and involved genuine subterfuge (it's rare that a Bond movie gets more than 10 minutes in without the openly revealing who the villain is), and the locations were varied and interesting.
Yeah, the faking of defection was a really good plot point in TLD.. I really don't like it when people just write Dalton off as a dark & gritty Bond, because I felt that he was way more than that. He could be charming when he is casually flirting around with beautiful ladies, but when it comes to a mission, he does whatever that is needed to succeed in it - not many actors can get such a balance right, as it is very easy to stick to a particular end of a spectrum while playing such a role...
Thanks for watching! Let us know in the comments below how you would rank every James Bond movie!
Looper y'all absolutely screwed this up. This is a terrible list.
Andrew Hardy I agree. The order they've put this in is ridiculous.
Golden eye eva!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ThunderBall is better than GoldenEye which is over rated probably because brosnans other three are so bad. How die another day isn't second from bottom I don't know there are defiantly more bad things I need the film then just the special effects.
There's only one error here: The list.
The Man with the Golden Gun getting such a ranking is absurd. That was not that bad a movie. A cringe Bond girl to be fair, but the plot was good, the setting was good and a solid cast.
Casino royale skyfall And goldeneye should be the top 3

The Man with the Golden Gun does not deserve such a ranking to be fair. Other than an awful Bond girl, that movie was pretty good. The acting was decent as well as the plot and as usual Christopher Lee showed his ability to play an interesting villain.
You know in my opinion its also not the best Bond ranking you can do but each and every single one of us have different tastes and opinions. I‘m proud to say that Octopussy is my alltime favourite! No problem with that!

The Man with the Golden Gun was a decent Bond movie. Okay the Bond girl in that movie was shit, but the acting was good and an exciting plot.

Dangerous.

TSWLM is definitely one of the best bond films.

Timothy Dalton - The Living Daylights (I love Licence to Kill just as much, so this one is tough... he's probably my favorite Bond)
Pierce Brosnan - GoldenEye

No shit. The script was written by the same guy who brought us 1980's Flash Gordon, and the Batman movie with Adam West. Not exactly spy thrillers...
well obviously they are just acting like they know what they are talking about, I mean at one point they say one of the films didnt exactly keep up with the source material... when movies like octopussy are absolutely nothing like the original story. and if source material is one of the basis for this list then Timothy Daltons bond movies should be much higher in general since his bond is the truest to the source material.
Living Daylights is one of the best

@Tai Chi Tube People have lives man, can't sit around and write analysis of character development in movie serials.
He also says GOLDENEYE is the best Bond film ever - as he lists it at number seven on the list!
yeah it's just a lazy stupid list in a random order to make people argue about it.

casino royal was trash, skyfall was the only redeemable craig pic
Anyone who think GE & GF are two word titles deserves no respect!
carmad59 I disagree.
1. Licence to Kill
2. Casino Royale (2006)
3. The Living Daylights
4. Skyfall
5. GoldenEye
6. Golfinger
7. From Russia with Love
6:19 "007.., My God!! What's Bond doing!?"😦
Q: "I think he's attempting re-entry sir"🤣🤣😆
LOL!
Lol
Moneypenny, where's 007?
He's on a mission, sir
Well tell him to pull out!
‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ will forever be my favourite bond!
Elijah Swift mine to
Agree
It's my #5
Jaws is definitely an epic Bond villain👌😁
Absolutely: or is he an epic henchman?
Any bond fan will have their favourite actor, bond girls, gadgets, villans and movies and as we are all dirrerent we will always have different opinions. The Bond movies started in 1962 and are still going in 2020 so 58 years I think that says it all.
When I saw A view to kill and The man with the golden gun at the beginning of list, stopped watching.
THANK YOU I always thought I was the only one who liked a view to a kill, I give it credit for being one of the first bond movies to go full on action movie
@@hottestcheese7973 I loved it too
You're Not Alone. I love that movie! I never get bored watching it! @@hottestcheese7973
@@hottestcheese7973 Personally I don't rank View to a Kill highly, but it's certainly not as bad as put here. The Duran Duran theme alone puts it far above some others.
Both are ass
LOL
Silverstone L whoa no way hahaha
My Bosnan era ranking:
4.-Die Another Day
3.-The World is not Enough
2.-Tomorrow Never Dies
1.-Goldeneye
About Craig:
Apparently I'm one of the few people on the planet who thinks Skyfall was better than Casino Royale. (and my favorite bond film yet)
Casino was doing great until they turn it into a love story and give us 1 hour of Bond and Vesper Kissing.
I agree with everything you said there
Thats why Quantum was good... And spectre. Because bond goes ballistic and just starts killing mofos 😂😂
Sean was the best Bond. He had to do it right for them to keep making movies. He has the most memorable voice as well.
I agree ! Sean Connery was the best James Bond !! We will miss him 😥 in the James Bond films!
Putting Quantum of Solace higher than 3 of Pierce Brosnans outings is absolutely ridiculous 😂
This is factually the worst list ever 🤣
I think Quantum is better than Die Another Day
EJIFIII but tomorrow never dies?
@@adoptedlobster9900 Quantum has a more interesting concept but Tomorrow Never Dies had more time and isn't sloppy like Quantum. I do like TWINE though
you're right, it is only higher than 2 of PB
RIP Roger Moore. 🙏
"The spy who loved me isn't a great bond film" ? 🤔who is this fraud? One of the best bond films easily.
Clearly the best Roger Moore Bond. There was a gap of four years before Spy who Loved Me came out. Golden Gun was so bad I think they took their time with this one. And it worked.
Jordan Andre McDonnell tswlm is pretty poor.
calql8er 3 years.
I rank SWLM as Moore's best, and easily in the top 10 of the franchise, if not top five.
Rick L. Nah!
As entertainment I thoroughly enjoyed all of the Bond films and still do watch them . They are pure escapism and that's what I want .
You are so right and Mr Big is a good villain
I can only agree with you on two things from this ranking: 1)Goldfinger is (in mine & most ppls opinion) the best bond film from Conery. 2) The Spy Who Loved Me (at least imo) is the best bond film from Roger Moore. As for the overall movie rankings, we'll agree to disagree.
The man with the golden gun is one of my favourite Bonds. Don’t know why it’s raked so badly here
At the very least, it's a guilty pleasure for me. I love J. W. Pepper's participation and Roger Moore calling him "Boy."
i have a theory that this list was made by a feminist who did not like the bondgirl from ggolden gun :v
I Love so much ''The man with the golden gun''
Because whomever put this list together is clinically insane. It's the only reason I can think of.
My top ten
1. Casino Royale
2. From Russia With Love
3. Goldfinger
4. Skyfall
5. Goldeneye
6. License to Kill
7. Dr. No
8. OHMSS
9. Thunderball
10. The Spy Who Loved Me
11-24
11. Spectre
12. The World Is Not Enough
13. For Your Eyes Only
14. The Man With The Golden Gun
15. You Only Live Twice
16. Tomorrow Never Dies
17. Moonraker
18. The Living Daylights
19. Live And Let Die
20. Quantum of Solace
21. Diamonds Are Forever
22. A View To A Kill
23. Die Another Day
24. Octopussy
Great list....I actually like Spectre better than Skyfall....I think the theme song by Adele overshadowed this average James Bond film, Daniel Craig half ass the acting acting in this one, everybody shines better than him....including the Moneypenny actress.
Charles C that’s a good list
Golden Eye was bomb
I love Goldeneye and it's one of my top 5 Bonds.
In your face !!! Suppose ...
GoldenEye is my favorite Bond film
I like Goldeneye but it is overrated as hell
@Steven Davies Tomorrow Never Dies is a lot better than most people give it credit for. Considering where we are in the US, a media mogul vying for world domination doesn't seem so far fetched of an idea as it did 25 years ago.
The list this guy has compiled is completely worst.
@@cookiesontoast9981 That's the thing. You can tell by his scripted reads that he hasn't seen a single one of these movies.
"Die Another Day" NOT at the bottom? That's ridiculous.
I love it. The movie is fantastic.
Roger Moore was my favourite Bond, Connery was great and Craig is brilliant. The only good thing about this list is that it gets a reaction from people who actually know their Bond movies.
"Craig is brilliant"
Oh dear...
Lazenby > Craig
Dude do you have something against Roger Moore.
Roger Moore was a good actor, but a lot of his films are stupid. Timothy Dalton brought the franchise back to life in “The Living Daylights.”
Why isn't Quantum of Solace first in the video? Can't make a Bond film worse.
Dalton was such an underrated Bond.
He really brought the franchise back to life after all those years of Roger Moore’s fantasy Bond films! Dalton was fantastic!
I disagree Dalton was a awful Bond I'm still shocked he ever got cast
The best Bond.
Quantum of Solace should be lower. Much lower.
Olga Kurylenko bumps it a few slots up by herself.
My top 4 is
1) Casino Royale
2) Skyfall
3) Quantum of Solace
4) Spectre
After those come the two Timothy Dalton movies. The rest is pure garbage.
thisjacktansley Umm yeah, these are all very new Bond films.
1) Casino Royale (2006)
2) License to Kill
3) Goldfinger
4) Goldeneye
5) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
_(sadly, live and let die misses out on the fifth spot.)_
What?? "The spy who loved me" has to be at least Top 5 on every list ever made
Absolutely. The movie had a charm to it that no other Bond movie can match. Him having it so low tells me he didn't actually watch these movies but read a critics list. Try actually watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service without falling asleep
Agreed, at worst it has to be top 10
"My God whats Bond doing?...............I think hes attempting reentry sir" classic! LOL
Ikaika Maleko a great crackup.
My top three would be 1.skyfall 2. Goldeneye 3.from Russia with love 4. Casino royale 5. ??? I'm hoping no time to die is going to be amazing
So I take it any Top Ten list of yours would have, uh, 16 items on it?
"A space craft is highjaked to release a deadly gas around the world"
That's half the plot of Moonraker, and you got it wrong.
Yeah they don't know anything about these movies at all
Tomorrow never dies has actually aged almost too well as time has gone on 👀
This is accurate. What was once an over the top/unbelievable villain is now by far one of the most realistic.
For me it's the best of the Brosnan Era
Garbage. It's like they never watched a Bond film. Try Calvin Dyson instead.
Not the Garbage that you would think when it comes to Bond
they probably just looked at rankings
My Ranking personal
1- Our Majesty's Secret Service
2- Casino Royale
3- Goldfinger
4- From Russia with Love
5- Skyfall
6- Dr. NO
7- The Spy who Loved Me
8- Licence to Kill
9- The Living Daylights
10- Thunderball
11- You Only Live Twice
12- Only for your Eyes
13- GoldenEye
14- Live and Let Die
15- Octopussy
16- No Time to Die
17- Spectre
18- Quantum of Solace
19- Tomorrow Never Dies
20- The World is Not Enough
21-Moonraker
22- The Man with the Golden Gun
23- A View to Kill
24- Diamonds are Forever
25- Die Another Day
R.I.P. Sir Rodger Moore
he was a Saint!
Correction . . . *_THE SAINT_*
I really think "License to Kill" and "The Living Daylights" are criminally underrated
Henry Burris indeed, he's the grittiest bond by far and did 2 great films, just gets overlooked for not doing more.
License To Kill, yes, but TLD was mediocre at best.
Dalton is extremely underrated.
I agree! I liked The Living Daylight and loved License to Kill!
Goldfinger is my favorite Bond film. Thank you.
Personally, I believe that "For Your Eyes Only" is the most underrated Bond film of all time.
rodger moore was cool, and stayed cool under pressure as a bond, tbh I loved living daylights with TD. All the bonds have their ups and downs imo
Am I the only one that liked tomorrow never dies
Sure
I liked it. Jonathan Pryce is a great villain and the story is pretty good. Goldeneye is my favorite Brosnan film (probably my favorite out of the entire series), but Tomorrow Never Dies comes a close second.
Did I asked which one is your favorite?
I liked it quite a lot, especially when I was 10. While it isn't the best in the series, it is definitely better than a lot of the others.
I love Daniel Craig’s piercing eyes. That adds to the “bond look”
You got it right. "Goldfinger" is the best Bond film. And Sean Connery is the best James Bond. He was closest to the Bond in the Ian Fleming novels.
@Tai Chi Tube Bassey shouldve sang Goldmember : Gooooooldmembah , hes the man , the man with the goooooooooldne knob. A golden knob !
Casino Royale (2006) is the best
I'm glad they ranked Her Majesty's Secret Service as high as they did. That movie is waaay underrated because it's not Connery or Moore playing Bond. But if you actually watch the 60s, 70s and 80s Bond movies back to back, that movie stands out and has aged well. Unlike Diamonds Are Forever which is hard to watch now.
It's Christopher Nolan's favorite Bond movie.
It's been ranks as Number 1 by some polls. The best, or perhaps 2nd best after Goldfinger..
My top five were:
1. Goldfinger. 2. Casino royal(2006). 3. Thunderball. 4. Skyfall. 5. Man with the goldengun
Also Timothy Dalton was a criminally underrated bond, he was merely a rough and rugged bond before people were ready for it, very similar to Daniel Craig, I was very impressed by Timothy Dalton
For your eyes only also won a Grammy (Sheena Easton) for best theme song, WAY BEFORE ADELE did. Convenient how they didn't mention this.
I do not agree with the order of this list at all.
The top 3 is the top 3 even though i might interchangei it a bit, other than that this is the worst Bond list ever.
Steven Eagle agree
Because it didn't adhere to your choices? LOL
No. It's the best.
Steven Eagle I thought so too lol...anyways they are his opinions so I won't take it serious
I feel like the living daylights does not get its praise it deserves. It’s a great film and personally my favourite
Daniel Kearsley I prefer it by miles over Licence to kill and its even in my top 5!
1. Octopussy
2. Casino Royale
3. On Her Majesty‘s Secret Service
4. For Your Eyes Only
5. The Living Daylights
Daniel Kearsley Timothy Dalton portrays bond perfectly but Pierce Brosnan is my favourite, adding the charisma and charm Dalton lacked whilst maintaining a thrilling interpretation of the character
chi tai well we all have our own preference. Tends to be the bond you were raised on
Its not my favourite but its definitely top 10 and very, very overlooked.
Has a great soundtrack as well. John Barry's last Bond score.
Living Daylights is great. Definitely in my top 3 along with Goldeneye and Skyfall.
Timothy Dalton is a best 007 for ever
I haven`t seen a Bond better
I would say he is a great one not the best
Besides Nevin and Nelson, I disliked Dalton more than several others.
Many Bond fans would disagree to this ranking.
