Thank you for the slow-brain explanation also!

Thanks 'Phil'. This helps "dust the rust" off my chops.

Thank you for making this tremendously useful video! Even though i’m not that good at english, it gives me a lot of help to develop my imporvisation.

Great ideas. Good for us jazz pianists/guitarists to see how to make some changes on bass (which I have to play myself to record). Cheers!

This is the real stuff. Just wondering how to achieve such a wondeful tone on the bass.

For me personally, I checked out and transcribed and played along with a lot of sax and trumpet solos and also guitar..I found that helped me absorb some phrasing and tone ideas: Miles Davis, Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Joe Henderson, Coltrane, Cannonball, Mintzer, Mike Brecker, Metheny, Scofield etc

It’s hard to see on video, but the action on your basses seems pretty low. Yet, it doesn’t sound like that. Can you tell something about it? Thnx!

Yes I can-it's not super low- I would say medium. Plus I use 45. to 105 gauge strings -LaBella nickel rounds -I don't change them a lot, preferring a darker sound so I can play reasonably hard. Apart from when walking-when I often play over the edge of the' board..and a little lighter plucking
