@@Raimi54420because of the amount of references they put in for this movie and yes you can say that it is nostalgia bait but I don’t care I don’t think a lot of other people care as well and yes, it is true. The fog is not good to have just have to appreciate the artistry that goes in these films obviously not the actual plot just the CGI
KOTM's VFX breakdowns have been slightly difficult to track down so thank you a lot for uploaded them together! Are you able to add the video sources in the description (or reply)?
Oh right, I can add them in the description. I did link the two head VFX companies, MPC and DNEG, in the description, so you can head over to their channel and search. I'll update the desc sometime later to include the actual videos.
It still upsets me knowing that this movie did not receive a single recognition for its groundbreaking visual effects. All because of the narcissistic mind-numbingly stupid movie critics.
Sometimes, they probably just don’t give a crap about seeing a movie judging by how it’s a big spikey dinosaur thinking that it’s just a moving (book) picture of a lizard stomping some pixelated blocks but really godzilla community has had some of the most talented vfx effects, I’m surprised how godzilla minus one got such a success while they just look like their doing their job as a basis, I guess it’s them noticing that in present years their publicly noticed franchises like Disney be falling apart with Wish leaving them no choice to just look at godzilla for the few times of their life. I’m glad I grew up with monsters and I’m not ashamed that it gives me chills of being a little kid dwarfing large animals instead of complex human stories yadayada with that older aged fanbase.
Mfs who are saying ‘we didn’t need this much fog’ ‘I couldn’t see anything’ clearly need to check their eyesight. The weather effects didn’t make it impossible to see, everything could be seen just fine even with weather effects, it’s just y’all mfs that have bad eyesight most likely, lmao 💀
I agree and weather effects over kaiju makes them scarier. Like in g14 you could barley see because of weather and darkness but that’s how it would be irl. That’s what makes Godzilla scary and epic
I honestly find this to be the ugliest Monsterverse movie visually, and this breakdown is the best proof that the reason for that isn’t because the visual effects/CGI are bad. It’s the god damn overly-stylized color grading. There’s some truly impressive breakdowns that showcase tons of detail in the CG models and rendering, until they get wiped over with the most ugly color tints and over-use of weather effects. All of that amazing creature animation and detail gets obscured in the final shots!
If you think this is the ugliest MV movie visually speaking, then you have forgotten about G2014. That movie was literally unwatchable cause of all the stupid darkness and fog covering everything
Imagine being a VFX artist working so hard on rendering the model perfectly and getting everything to look super photo-realistic. Just for some asshat to slap a shitty Adobe rain effect and a color filter on top of all your hard work.
The visual effects of this movie are spectacular
Half of it is covered in darkness
@@random_person426 I know but still amazing
no its really ugly to look at, they just cover all of the amazing details in the models with shit. they cut corners

MAN, if only they actually show how SPECTACULAR they are instead of being covered by SHIT THE ENTIRE TIME
I really like the vibes of the kaiju with the fog they feel mysterious
Finally someone sane
@@the_destruction_slayerfr
This film seriously did NOT need that much fog.
I take it that you’ve seen 2014. At least GVK fixed up on it.

It sucks that the amazing models of all these monsters were obstructed by all these weather/lighting effects
Looked way better with the effects
@@junkbot931but was the 50 ton of fog necessary?
@@Nathan_Poster_EditZ For this scene, yes, it needed to be this foggy for the scene to be this powerful.
@@junkbot931 I like the theme tho but damn that’s a lot of fog
I have no problems with the fog it looks great it gives a great atmosphere
Nop.
Un ambiente realista 😎👌
I agree
The fog makes it look so cool.
it's the people complaining who don't know anything about CG and realism. Normies don't know crap LOL
4:43 Angurius
Now with the visual breakdown I can tell it’s him a lot easier
@@SirAlienGaming yep
So monstervers angurius is canon? 😬
@@Weed_Eater69not necessarily
@@Weed_Eater69kinda but not really, we still have yet to see him

No, its because the good cgi models get covered by shit weather effects
True though.
@@sarnimations9255 Because there is fucking weather.
@@sarnimations9255 the weather to me is a compliment adding to the kaijus ominous aura
Ghidroah looks so beautiful. His gold is incredible. His storm hides it tho
The ocean structures look so damn cool I kinda wished they put less fog in the ocean
I love this Music from 2014 godzilla movie and they still used this in this one to masterpiece music 😊
De verdad que esta película es simplemente epica de verdad que se ve muy realista , es mi película favorita del Monsterverse
For some reason it looks so real
Godzilla walking with an Air Force escort is one of the dopest moments in the MonsterVerse
4:43 Anguirus is small cameo
Looks amazing
To bad godzillas city got destroyed wish we saw more about it and learned more about it
There was too much fog and effects, it obscurred so many things i didn't even know were there until the effects were in a way removed

La niebla le da un efecto realista y para mí eso hace más épica la película
My only problem is with the underwater city and the final battle having too much lightning zaps, but everything else was fine IMO
Well said

Maybe because we like to actually SEE THE KAIJU
People don’t realize that this video is compressed for UA-cam. The actual blu ray release looks much better. Or the version on streaming.

true they didnt need that much fog plus they literally made that whole ass anlantic ass city just to be covered in fog and unseeable
idk what you guys r yapping abt i could clearly see everything, you all should just go to a doctor to get your eyes checked.

Dang if there was no fog the cgi woukd be terrible lol

No way my second favorite Kaiju is dead, they seriously killed off Anguirus?!
What The Hell !?
look 10 times better than the new one
Why do these special effects look so bad compared to other movies like Kong vs Godzilla. Its like the put a blurry dark filter over the entire movie
They look great
