so if Palestine referred to a region including parts of modern-day Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, then why aren't the Palestinians asking for territory in those countries?

Because they know that if they riot - there will be no more people to claim they are "palastiniens" - aka they will get shot instantly even if they rise a white flag.
Why there are "palastinians" in jordan? or syria? :)

The UN gave that land to Israel in 1948. In fact, they planned to give them most of Jordan too, but Israel agreed that that would cause too much conflict. Israel did not "steal" a thing. Arabs declared war on Israel, not the other way around, in spite of the fact that Palestine was not, and never has been a nation. That is a fact, not subjective in any form. Need I remind everyone that on top of that nugget of truth, the Jews had a genocide committed against them? Dead civilians are truly a tragedy and no one, Israel chief among them, wants that. So maybe you should call Hamas and tell them to stop hiding their rockets cites in playgrounds and UN clinics. So Please don't speak self righteously about who the real victims are when frankly, you have not even done a modicum of research on the history of the conflict. Thanks.

    • @Jaasau
      @Jaasau 10 років тому +8

UN did not give them "other's land." The UN gave Jews, Jewish land. There was no country there when League of Nations Proposed Israeli state. Land was occupied by former Ottoman Empire citizens. The Ottomans were beaten by allies (British) and the Brits merely named land confiscated as "Palestine", but it was not a country and was slated to be Jewish state. So I'm sorry, but the Palestinians have no "right" to the land as it was not theirs to begin with. They were offered countless times to split land in two and have two states, one Jewish and one Palestinian, and they have rejected every last one of those proposals. They use terrorism and indiscriminate rocket attacks while Israel takes every opportunity to warn civilians of impending strikes on missile batteries positioned in public spaces. I cannot support terrorism. I must side with Israel who supports women's rights, Arab judges, democracy, impartial courts, and religious freedom. Jews DO live in peace with Arabs IN ISRAEL. There are over one million Arab citizens of Israel, so.... yeah.

I am somewhat familiar with how Mohammed helped jews. But it did not last forever. Additionally, it was Ottoman land, then British land, and the Brit's gave it to Israel. It was not until after the holocaust that that finally took shape. In 47 UN proposed a partition giving the land 50/50 to indigenous Jordanians and indigenous and foreign Jews. It was not Palestinian land. It was not stolen. If military conquest by a provoked nation (britain) is a definition of theft, then almost every nation in the entire world has been "stolen" and must be given up.

Recently, April, 2019, Jewish artifacts were discovered in the City of David, which prove the Jews held the land. There are Jewish Menorahs imprinted on many ruins, and some great pieces of direct evidence were discovered in digs, where they were going to build. The so called Palestinians moved into the land when the Romans kicked out the Jews & wanted to erase remembrance of Judaism.
There is no historical Palestinian "anything", pottery or otherwise. Palestinians are from countries surrounding the land of Israel. There are no Palestinian people in the bible. The Bible says Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea. Jews, under discipline from God, have had a terrible time throughout their history, going into captivity due to disobedience to God.

The only nation state to have ever existed in those lands was Israel, the rest were empire after empire dislocating people, trying to uproot Jewish people, trying forever to change the demographics of the land, they almost got, but the Jewish people back, fought for their right to the land and succeeded.

    • @QwertyQwerty-ex6xn

      its wrong
The Palestinians are attributed to many peoples who lived in the region before the Jews, the most important of whom are the Canaanites. The Jews (as the Torah says) came from Iraq, multiplied in Egypt, and occupied the land of Canaan until they were expelled from it.
So what do the Jews have a right to the land after all this?
As he said in the video, the name Palestine came from hatred towards the Jews, and therefore Palestinians are a name that was generalized to the peoples in the region.
Therefore, it does not change anything
What happened 3,000 years ago was an occupation of the land of the indigenous people (the Canaanites), and now the same thing is happening to them, but the difference is that they are now called (Palestinians). This is the same thing that happened to the people of the Mayan civilization, whom you called “Red Indians.”

Maybe you don't know that our ancestors in the U.S. moved in and slaughtered Indians that lived here, even though it was self-defense sometimes or offensive attacks at other times. It doesn't matter, since these facts have reigned throughout history. It doesn't matter who is right or wrong.
Are you under 15 or something? You sound like a newby that just learned something, and are trying to tell others about what you learned, AS IF nobody but you ever knew this! Hello?! Helllo?! Is anybody home up there???

@@david77james What I was saying is that the Palestinians are not a people that existed about 100 years ago, but rather they have a history and were present in this land before the Jews, and that you have no right to belittle them, and this is not a new matter, as many people speak as if history begins in the twelfth century. B.C.E.
And you mislead people with your words
Since the city of Jerusalem is a Canaanite city, it is attributed to the Palestinians because they are the descendants of the Canaanites, and everything related to the Canaanites is linked to the Palestinians.
I did not say that no one knows this, but you seem to be hateful towards the Palestinians. It is not possible for this people to be merely a mixture of peoples who mixed together nearly a hundred years ago. This is stupidity.

Besides, querty, many lands were taken by conquest, better quit eating so much, or go get some looser fitting panties, eh? It's too bad for those who lose their land, indeed, BUT the hard cold facts just allow for a violin to be played, while their lives, land & homes are destroyed & pillaged, by invaders.

Todah rabah for this video. When will people ever get it that "Palestine" was Latin for Philistine. The term was pejorative and was given by the Romans after the Jewish wars. Oh, btw, Jerusalem was also renamed Aelia Capitolina by the Romans, but somehow, that never stuck like Palestine. Also, Jews living under the British Mandate were also called, "Palestinians". It was not until 1964 when Yasser Arafat appropriated the name for his PLO, that the term became synonymous with Arabs living in this area. What's in a name? Everything.

    About genetics:
"About two-thirds of Israeli Arabs and Arabs in the territories and a similar proportion of Israeli Jews are the descendants of at least three common ancestors who lived in the Middle East in the Neolithic period. However, the Palestinian Arab clade includes two Arab modal haplotypes which are found at only very low frequency among Jews, reflecting divergence and/or large scale admixture from non-local populations to the Palestinians.[6"
Note, genetic commonality principally derives from ancient times, the Neolithic period - aka, The Stone Age.
Point being, that just as, say, the British and German show a much closer genetic relationship than Jews and Palestinians because at one time they were largely the same people, in terms of recorded history this is irrelevant. Long after their common ancestors separated from one another they became distinct peoples living in distinct areas speaking different languages. Neither Britain nor Germany has claims on the other because they share common ancient ancestors.
And so it is with Jews and Palestinians. Direct ancestors of today's Jews established ancient Judea and Israel, going back 3,500 years ago. At that time direct ancestors of Palestinians were living largely in what is Saudi Arabia today.
Hence, what is relevant is this: the Palestinians are, in their own words and that of fellow Arabs:
    * Hamas Minister Hammad: "Half of Palestinians are Egyptians, half Saudis"
    * Khalil Wazir: "Military action against Israel is necessary to fix Palestinian identity”
    * Zahir Muhsein of the Palestinian Nat Council: “The Palestinian people doesn't exist…Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak of a Palestinian people…to oppose Zionism”
    * Auni Bey Abdul-Hadi: "There's no such thing as a Palestinian people" (to British Peel Commission in 1937)
    * Saudi UN amb: “It's common knowledge that Palestine is Southern Syria”
    * King Abdullah: "Palestine and Transjordan are one” at Arab League meeting in Cairo, 12 April 1948
    * Prime Minister of Jordan, Hazza’ al-Majali: "We are the government of Palestine, the army of Palestine and the refugees of Palestine,” Hazza’ al-Majali, 23 August 1959
    * Walid Shoebat: "Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian? We considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then all of the sudden we were Palestinians - they removed the star from the Jordanian flag and all at once we had a Palestinian flag.”
Between 1932 and 1944 half a million Arabs moved to Palestine for the jobs Jews created. The UN partition plan of 1947 tacitly understood, giving "no consideration of Palestinian claims because Palestinian nationality had not yet been invented.”

    • @michardav
      @michardav 10 років тому +1

Nope, means the Palestinians have been there since the Stone Age and some Arabs came later "Genetic analysis suggests that a majority of the Muslims of Palestine, inclusive of Arab citizens of Israel, are descendants of Christians, Jews and other earlier inhabitants of the southern Levant whose core may reach back to prehistoric times."

    “Settlements” are legally Israel’s
    1) There’s never been an Arab (or therefore Palestinian) state there to occupy. If the land is not legally occupied, construction on it cannot be illegal.
    2) The West Bank is Israel’s under the still legal League of Nations Palestine Mandate. The British illegally gave it to Arabs in 1922, who then lost it to Israel when they coerced a war in 1967 to destroy Israel.
    3) Arabs refused the 1922 League of Nations and 1948 UN partition plans, thus the land is legally disputed.
    4) UN Resolution 242 provides for negotiation that leaves Israel with secure borders. Until that is negotiated, then Israel can legally possess this land.
    5) Land lost in wars of aggression is not occupied - ask Germany.
For context, five things should be understood.
    1) Through all history there has never been an Arab state on the West Bank, but there have been 3 Jewish states
    2) Until Israel agreed to allow the PLO to return in 1993 to govern, Arabs last governed this land in the year 1100
    3) Almost all the fuss is about Jerusalem suburbs.
    4) Most of those we call Palestinian are disparate Arabs from disparate Arab nations and regions, who came with and after the returning Jews, for the jobs and services the Jewish created economy provided.
    5) Israel has returned 96% of the land it has won defending itself against Arab efforts to annihilate it and commit another Holocaust. When Palestinians are serious about a permanent peace, Israel will surrender yet more to achieve a 2 state solution.

    • @michardav1248
      @michardav1248 10 років тому +1

      1) Nope, the UN considered it sovereign Jordanian soil.
2)The Mandate never said anything about a Jewish STATE. Nor did it say anything about a ALL of Palestine, in fact it specifically said IN Palestine.
3)Nope, has nothing to do with. Land acquired by force is illegal PERIOD.
      4) UN 242 never transferred sovereignty, and again specifically stated land acquired by force is ILLEGAL.
      5) Israel attacked Egypt, and attacked Jordan in 1966. Land can only be reacquired. Israel was not the previous sovereign.
      1) Ancient Israel wasn't Jewish.
      2) So?
      3) Nope, all this fuss is about the right to control your own lives, without being suddenly forced into the street.
      4) Been over this, completely false both history and science say otherwise.
5)Israel had no choice but to return the Sinai (which is NOT Palestine). Egypt was internationally accepted as the rightful sovereign. Carter knew Sadat would when at the ICC and Israel wouldn't get a thing- and still lose Sinai. Plus Israel was paid quite well in record aid packages. If Israel would stop taking land, there would be peace. For four years attacks in the West Bank went down- by NINETY per cent. In that time settler attacks increased by ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY PER CENT, settlements increased in record amounts and settlements that were illegal even according to Israeli court rulings, were retroactively legitimized to qualify for Knesset funding.
Sure doesn't seem to me Israel wants peace. Why would they? They keep dragging their heels and just keep taking anyway. There is no incentive on their part to continue any peace process.

      Palestine Mandate
"ARTICLE 2. The Mandatory shall be responsible for placing the country under such political, administrative and economic conditions as will secure the establishment of the Jewish national home, as laid down in the preamble, and the development of self governing institutions, and also for safeguarding the civil and religious rights of all the inhabitants of Palestine, irrespective of race and religion."
So, a Jewish country in which minority rights are to be respected.
Which, in any event, was superseded by UN Res 181: "Independent Arab and Jewish States…set forth in Part III of this Plan, shall come into existence in Palestine two months after the evacuation of the armed forces of the mandatory."

Name a famous Palestinian before the age of television. I can only think of one: Goliath. Killed by the Jewish king, King David, who went on to unite the kingdom and formally found the nation-state of Israel. Christianity and Islam regards him as one of the great prophets of their faith. Not a good starting point for Palestinian history.

    • @naapalm82
      @naapalm82 9 років тому +2

The only problem with that is that whereas Native Americans call themselves that Palestinians call themselves Philistines in their own language. Even Yasser Arafat said as much before he died. If your statement is infallibly true, then the big looming question remains of when did the nation (not independence or statehood, which is a question for another time) of Palestine become established? As it is, most Palestinians in Gaza reflect more Egyptian culture and those in the West Bank have a more Syrian culture. Palestinian Arabs always wore fezzes as a mark of distinction before 1948, so was Palestinian culture destroyed by adopting the kyffia?

Only problem is, the Palestinians have nothing to do whatsoever with the philistines. They weren't even Semitic and they vanished 2,700 years ago. The Romans renamed Judea after them, and the Palestinians adopted that name in the 20th century. The original name of the philistines is "Plishtim", it's a Hebrew biblical name meaning "to invade". In Arabic it's "filistine" since they don't have a P.

JERUSALEM - A Palestinian man was found dead in his home in the West Bank town of Bir Zeit on Thursday after a standoff with Israeli forces that had come to arrest him, according to the Israeli military.
The military said in a statement that the man, identified as Mutaz Washaha, 25, was “suspected of terror activity,” without elaborating. It added that the forces employed various means, including live fire, to complete the arrest, acting “under the premise that he had weapons in his possession.” The military said an assault rifle was later found in the house. There was no indication that Mr. Washaha had used it to fire at the Israeli forces.

SailorSteve 1)Jordan was recognized as the sovereign nation of the West Bank.
      2) Mandate of Palestine never said anything about a Jewish STATE. In fact it said the HOMELAND was to be IN Palestine.
      3) The only enforceable legal decision about states after the Mandate was the MacDonald white paper- it stated that Palestine was to be a representational democracy by 1948. UN 181 was a suggestion, nothing more.
      4) COMPLETELY FALSE. UN 242 recognized in the preamble that territory acquired by force is illegal.
      5) Germany signed treaties, Israel did not. I note that Israel attacked Egypt in 1956, Jordan in 1954 and in 1966. attacked Syria when it had agreed to a ceasefire.
"1) Through all history there has never been an Arab state on the West Bank, but there have been 3 Jewish states" Ancient Israel wasn't Jewish.
"2) Until Israel agreed to allow the PLO to return in 1993 to govern, Arabs last governed this land in the year 1100" So? Jews last governed the area over two thousand years ago...you're point?
"3) Almost all the fuss is about Jerusalem suburbs." Didn't think Jordan Valley was in Jerusalem- but you're kind of right. Israel keeps on increasing the suburbs of Jerusalem until it almost stretches to Jordan now.
"4) Most of those we call Palestinian are disparate Arabs from disparate Arab nations and regions, who came with and after the returning Jews, for the jobs and services the Jewish created economy provided" Completely false. The Christian and Muslim population of Palestine in 1922 was 660,000- this was BEFORE the waves of Jewish immigration, of which was kept secret from the Palestinians- they had already been promised the land BEFORE the Balfour Declaration you see. By 1948 this number had climbed to about 1.1 million- WELL within natural means.
"5) Israel has returned 96% of the land it has won defending itself against Arab efforts to annihilate it and commit another Holocaust. When Palestinians are serious about a permanent peace, Israel will surrender yet more to achieve a 2 state solution." You're including the Sinai which had nothing to do with Palestine. Also Begin and Carter knew that is Sadat took his case before the ICC, Israel wouldn't have a chance. Instead Israel took the 15 BILLION buy out offered by the USA.

"President Obama’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came as Israeli government figures showed Israel initiated more than twice as many West Bank settlement homes last year than it did the previous year. Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics said construction began on more than 2,500 settlement housing units in 2013, compared to just more than 1,100 the year before. Last year’s number is the highest in a decade. In the West Bank’s Jordan Valley, Palestinian residents and local officials say Israel has demolished hundreds of homes.
Ali Ka’abneh, Jordan Valley resident: "The Israeli occupation forces came here on the 29th. They came in the morning, of course, while we were sleeping, at 6:30 with their bulldozers and their soldiers. They gave us 10 minutes to leave the buildings we lived in, and then they demolished them all at once, without any warning at all."
Arif Daraghmeh, head of Al-Maleh Council: "The occupation has demolished more than 500 structures in the past year alone in this area, and now the Israeli army and occupation is carrying out all these policies in order to pressure the people and drive them out. They have demolished these tents and driven out the inhabitants, and they plan to have exercises in this area and to build more settlements and military camps."

An October 11, 1947 report on the pan-Arab summit in the Lebanese town of Aley in Egypt's largest paper that day (translated by Efraim Karsh; all ellipses are in the original text):
Abdul Rahman Azzam Pasha spoke to me about the horrific war that would happen in the coming months… proclaiming:
"I personally wish that the Jews do not drive us to this war, and surrender as I promise this to be a war of extermination and momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Tatar massacre or the Crusader wars. I believe that the number of volunteers from outside Palestine will be larger than Palestine's Arab population, for I know that volunteers will be arriving to us from [as far as] India, Afghanistan, and China to win the honor of martyrdom for the sake of Palestine … You might be surprised to learn that hundreds of Englishmen, and other Europeans expressed their strong wish to volunteer in the Arab armies to fight the Jews.
"This war will be distinguished by three serious matters. First-faith: as each fighter deems his death on behalf of the Ummah of Palestine as the shortest road to paradise; second, [the war] will be an opportunity for vast plunder. Third, it will be impossible to contain the zealous volunteers arriving from all corners of the world to reek vengeance for the martyrs of the Palestine Arabs, and viewing the war as dignifying every Arab and every Muslim throughout the world …
"The Arab is superior to the Jew in that he accepts defeat with a smile: Should the Jews defeat us in the first battle, we will defeat them in the second or the third battle … or the final one… whereas one defeat will shatter the Jew's morale! Most desert Arabians take pleasure in fighting. I recall being tasked with mediating a truce in a desert war (in which I participated) that lasted for nine months…While en route to sign the truce, I was approached by some of my comrades in arms who told me: 'Shame on you! You are a man of the people, so how could you wish to end the war … How can we live without war?' This is because war gives the Bedouin a sense of happiness, bliss, and security that peace does not provide! …
He [Azzam] ended his conversation with me by saying: "I foresee the consequences of this bloody war. I see before me its horrible battles. I can picture its dead, injured, and victims … But my conscience is clear … For we are not attacking but defending ourselves, and we are not aggressors but defenders against an aggression! …"

This would only fool people who don't know basic history or understand nationalities at all.
For one, not being sovereign does NOT mean that Palestine did not exist, or that Palestinians did not exist. As ANYONE who knows anything about nations knows- a nation does NOT create a people, but a people create a nation!
Did Americans not exist before American independence? Did Angolans, or Syrians, or Congolese not exist before independence? Who thinks like that? A people create a nation, a nation does NOT create a people. And what about Israel? A nations who's language was spoken today was created in Eastern Europe and is considered more Slavic than Semitic by many language experts. Or that the founders of modern Israel were largely European Jews who all of a sudden became "Israelis."
And as someone who knows MANY Palestinian Christians from Bethlehem, Nazareth, Ramallah, etc- not a single one I have ever met has ever said they felt oppressed by Palestinian Muslims Lets be honest here- Israel created millions of Palestinian refugees, many of them Christian. Bethlehem was NOT 60% Christian in 1990. The TRUTH is that it was about 50%, and is today about 40% Christian. The loss was do to the Palestinian uprising, which led to poor security conditions, and an economy in complete shambles do to Israeli restrictions on Palestinian movement and the overall economy. Not because of any Palestinian Muslim. In fact, only 3% of Palestinian Christians stated that they were immigrating because of "Muslims." The rest blamed Israel's brutal treatment of Palestinians.
Everyone should watch the 60 Minutes documentary on Palestinian Christians and see what THEY had to say about these false accusations of Muslims harassing them. They ONLY blamed Israel and Michael Oren, Israel's Ambassador to the US, tried having the documentary BLOCKED from American television because he knew that American Christians wouldn't like what Palestinian Christians had to say about Israel.
Danny is merely trying to mask the Palestinian Christian voice.
PS- those "headlines" Danny posted don't even have any source listed when you look them up.
If Danny loves Palestinian Christians so much- allow all Palestinian Christian refugees to return to their homes! Oh wait, you don't love them THAT much- you just like using them as pawns to make the conflict seem likes its poor little Israel against the big bad Muslims *rolls eyes*. Before 9/11 you never heard Israel talk about "persecuted" Palestinian Christians.

***** Hana clearly is more righteous! Walid Shoebat was exposed as a fake and a fraud years ago, which is why he hardly does any lectures these days. Even the Jerusalem Post noted his bold contradictions. LOOOL look at his website these days- it says he was an ex "Muslim Brotherhood" member. Two years ago it said he was an ex PLO member. Neither ended up being true.

The simple fact is that Jews lived in Palestine long before the modern state of Israel was formed. The Ottoman Empire first began allowing Jews to settle there in 1844.

The other thing about the words "Palestine" and "Palestinian" is that they were words used by the Romans to call the area belonging to the "Philistines." The word "Palestine" is, in essence, from a Greek word meaning "the land of the Philistines," who weren't even indigenous people to Israel in the FIRST place. There were, originally, transplanted Greeks (one of the original Greek tribes who were pushed out by invaders from the north) and who settled in Canaan between 1300 and 1200 B.C.E. AND, by the days of the Romans, the Philistines no longer existed in the first place! So, there is NO way that modern "Palestinians" descended from the Philistines! For them to call themselves "Palestinian" they are calling themselves "Philistines" and do not even know it.

Those young women sent to refute your discourse on Palestine were pathetic. They had more smiles and cutesy one-liners than historical content. Their video was obviously directed at the young, hedging a bet that historic episodes such as the Munich Olympics, The founding of the PLO, the Palestinian Mufti's alliance with Adolf Hitler, and the anti-Jewish massacres that took place in the Levant as soon as the Ottomans pulled out (long before modern Israel) are all forgotten memories. I for one would respect the Palestinian Arabs more if their public relations were more honest and in line with their fighters. Instead of playing the victim and trying to mislead media and censor history, they should simply explain that they would rather fight than live in peace. Those girls who tried to refute you should wear less clothes next time. It would lend entertainment value to what is otherwise obvious manipulation.

Although that dialogue would be impossible, as any definition of who is and isn't a hard-liner would be inherently flawed. i see it this way:
I Have a house with a garden. Some people move to my garden and claim it's now theirs, because 1000 years ago some ancesters of theirs lived there. Im pissed and ask em to go away - they won't and start a war, wich they win. They tell me my garden and my house are now theirs and i can move to my garage if i like. I have no choice and move to my garage. Now they move settlers into the garage because they need more space. And again i can't do sh..
Thats how the situation in Palstine/Isreal is, and it's wrong.
I have no solution for the problem - but it's just wrong how Palestinian people and Israelis threat each other.

Thank you - I love your truth-revealing videos!
Lately I read (Arutz Sheva? Times of Israel? United with Israel?), that leading politicians and other time witnesses wondered about the massive immigration and settlement of arabs (Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, ...) into "Palestine" (they can't even speak a "P" and use "F" instead) in the 1920ies.
I think it's worse a research because it was waste land before, just like Mark Twain said inthe 1860ies.

Judea and Galilee were two separate states and political entities, as illustrated on the map of Palestine in the time of Jesus in the Bible. Jesus Himself was not a Jew (Judean) or resident of Judea, He was a Galilean or resident of Galilee. Jesus grew up in Nazareth in Galilee.
