@@Hellwolf36 HC crowd is insane why would anyone play hc in a game where a lag spike can kill you hahaha. Maybe if poe was a single player offline game but no, it relies on your connection to the internet, your ISP, AND the GGG server to not lag a single time. HC is stupid

@@In_Spaceoh lag spikes don’t really bother me too much in PoE these days. The fact I’m dog shite does and it’s why I love the events every league on HC.
Oh man, this is going to be so much fun. I like this new approach where gameplay is considerably slower as opposed in PoE when dozens of spells and effects are happening simultaneously and you just get lost in all that kaleidoscope of colors, and then bang!, and you're dead without knowing what the hell just happened.
21:42 this is actually amazing not only for preventing cheese, but sounds like it will also act as a crash or disconnect protection. No losing your entire fight and needing to restart because your game crashed. That's a nice quality of life that I don't think many games have.
The difference between a crash/internet disconnect is that it's harder to determine when a client is temporarily unable to be reached (like the instance of a lag spike) versus the client being closed on purpose, which can tell the server the user has logged out.
The tuning of this detection would be the key between being constantly disconnected for a temporarily shitty connection and not being detected quickly enough (which is what happens now)
I am more surprised GGG is thinking about quality of life at all.

The fact that they already even before the game has been released work against crashes just shows that the game will end up crashing 💀 Im so glad they are already adding shit to make it less painful, instead of just making the game stable enough, so that we dont need that

I would like to see gameplay with all gems and high end gear to see if the combat is much faster. I don’t mind the slower paced combat but I’m sure many of us would like to see mapping gameplay.

mapping is a thing for people who gonna play long term
gameplay + story + boss is what most of the people and new players of PoE will play, and this is what they show case
the emphasis right now is on gameplay mechanics, not zoomzoom meta gameplay

The design of the monsters is INCREDIBLE! The graphics are amazing as well, I just bought a new PC so I can play this on max settings. :D
I could watch this gameplay for years, im so hyped. It looks very interesting, the graphics are very nice, the bosses are looking amazing and the effects, jesus they are gorgeous.

WOW. Those Boss designs are something huh? thats really cool to see all this different Boss mechanics at play, and they are not even an Act Bosses which is said to be a whole other level of Difficulty. Very impressive indeed. Honestly I can't wait to play this now. I've already been looking forward to play PoE2 now even MORE so. The graphics are gorgeous, I really like how you guys utilized the lighting in your level designs. It looks Amazing!
Only thing that i would add is back attacks from bosses. When players come from behind, they should have something to counter that, back kick, tail lash, etc. Something surprising.

well its like seeing a future of gaming i think GGG deserves more atention and bigger playerbase than it currently have and hopefully poe2 will deliver. Also making this game free to play just blows my mind. If PoE2 somehow get any cutscenes (cinematics with good story telling) than this game will be the game of century. Anyways i cant wait to play it i have never been so hyped about a game in my life yet.
I think the main reason for it not having more players is that the mechnics are pretty disheartening for new players. I f they could slowly introduce them with progrssing levels and explain them in game, this game would definitely get a much larger playerbase

Goood god... whenever I see these bosses and D4 bosses....... Why am I even bothering. This is a completely different league... Soooo much creativity and passion went into what we see here.
I like the "/warp boss" mechanic. I hope they keep that in the game for release.

This looks phenomenal. And the bosses have actual mechanics to learn. And that's like 5 or 6 bosses? None of them looked like another or played like another.
What do you mean, they are are massive health sponges with one shot mechanics. They are very similar.
That stomping looks insanely annoying especially with that frustratingly low movespeed, the pathetically short dodge roll distance, the 2 massive degen puddles, and the super fast ranged aoe attack...

i like to try Poe since i love the genre but i have we have no stable internet connection in our place to play these kinds of games,, is there any chance it will be offline?
Next year is gonna be KILLER.. just, dont forget about loot filters, it is embarrassing seeing POE league demos with the default loot filters lol..
one thing I've thought about when working on a specific build is the fact that a lot of damage is coming from curses, penetration, increased damage of X taken. Considering this, I wonder how viable the weapon swap will actually turn out to be unless these layers of damage increase are removed/more generic.
You can get one weapon set for damage, and another for debuffing enemies - as an example, imagine having boosted shock and curse values on one weapon, while retaining all of fire damage over time nodes for giga ignites on another.
Penetration can no longer push resistances negative. Furthermore, most enemies have 0 resistances, while a small handful have an extremely high amount of 1 resist. That means that penetration is really only important for single-element builds.

I love how you did it raw but maybe next time its better to record it so you can explain it and audience can see exactly what you were saying, you can replay the clip if you need to. The dying parts and waiting for the player to do some things so you can explain it were so time consuming. On the other note, good job to the devs. The game updates looks good!
The first contestant battled for 7 minutes against a boss which seems like an equal to daresso or kaom just to get some vendor currency, an orb of chance, and that rare at 45:28.
The visuals are impressive and clearly a lot of thought was out into this. I hope they balance it more fairly than this demo.

To be brutally honest, these changes will only work if the game is balanced around hardcore. If the random mob can still randomly one shot you offscreen, or a boss can instantly kill your character like in PoE 1 then GGG are going to deal with periods of die off for much longer than they do now. In fact people will just keep playing PoE 1 after the honeymoon period until they are forced to reverse some of these changes.
Who cares we'll have two games to play you can choose which one you want to play

It will never cease to amaze me what people ask for a game that comes in closed beta in AT LEAST ONE year.
It will never cease to amaze me the inability of people to focus on the words that try to explain " it is still poe, you will be able to zoom and try to your heart content" ( words said on stage during the PRESENTATION. That what it is, a presentation of their work so far. It is somrthing very normal for your craft that you actually like to show details.
People say "sloooooww game. They clearly said that they have at leas 4 different animation speeds.
What i am trying to say is : stop trying to ask what you have no ideas if it is a valid question yet. On the beta everyone will have the right to say all their hate.
just for reference - go see market for Ruthless, you will be shocked. That is a clear picture of amount of people who likes slow playstyle. Yeah, they may boost damage and make game faster, but in reality, a plenty of development I see is focused more on slow playstyle. There is not a lot of space for dodge roll in fast playstyle, or you spam it constantly, or you never spam it at all (you are faster in movement and roll will hinder you). And bosses are more created for a slow playstyle, otherwise, why do you need deep development of over hundred of bosses if most of them will be killed in
I can respect them not wanting people to cheese through the game. Because I agree, it's so lame when people do a 'world first' by skipping half the mechanics. However - they need to make the bosses better, make it easier to see things, and overall less bullshit. He also mentioned not wanting players to get stuck, so I hope as a result of this things aren't getting easier (it'll always be a challenge for HC I guess).
He didn't touch on the topic of boss carries though, which has always been a thing in PoE (from merciless dominus to uber elder) - how will they prevent that? My suggestion: you can't buy a carry until you have attempted it on your own first, not sure on the exact details though.
Also I personally like the well - it makes the game world feel more complete and less like a private server/developer demo. I don't understand the backlash tbh. Compare to other games like OSRS where you have to use the pool in your PoH and bank to get back into action. PoE needs that extra bit of downtime, IMO, otherwise the game feels like a chore. (NGL the game felt more relaxed when the map device wasn't stacked on your stash/vendor.)
It's rough indeed, especially if you play a melee class.
add WASD movement option!!!
Melee looks as weak if not even weaker than it did in PoE 1. GGG does not seem to get the balance of the game right, even when it's slower phased. Melee needs layers of protection, something like a passive 20% damage reduction from all sources to be viable.

Yes, it was mentioned that due to not being able to recover flask charges during boss fights (outside using well-timed portal scroll and bailing for a second to town) it became possible to make really engaging boss fights that are more than "avoid X or you die with no other possibility of salvation".

@@Exosia actually! old beta PoE players will LOVE poe2, since it seems to be in the pace of really, REALLY old PoE that wasn't 1000 miles an hour speedfest.
Maybe, but no one can say for sure. As someone who played the PoE 2 beta, it was incredibly slow, but there are reasons for it.
We were very undergeared and some enemies weren't properly balanced yet.
We'll have to wait until the Closed Beta to see how blasting in maps will be 😊
@@DanboReviews one of the problem - loot. In PoE loot is very important and if you have something like 100c\h even on max speed, it would be very grindy. And counting that playstyle of PoE is focused around each new league, I would expect people not like PoE2 grind at all due to it is boring. I just for fun looked into Ruthless prices, hell this is a shame what I see. It is already more than a month in a league and the most expensive item is asenath's gloves. So realistically - almost nobody plays ruthless. And there are almost no trades at all in HC Ruthless in a league. So realistically nobody even play HC Ruthless except maybe around 5 people. That is expected picture for PoE2 if it will be as slow as what we see in presentation.

What would be good to see is a breakdown of player stats and mechanics and how that fits together, instead of some random stat like crowd control in Diablo IV where you dont intuitively know what it does. For me the most fun i have in games like this is character progression, optimizing your build to be more effective in combat and confusing character mechanics just make this process frustrating. In other words having really good tool tips and explanations as to what everything does would be super helpful it seems. Albeit without jeopardizing the discovery of said mechanics by making it TOO easy to understand. Dont know if that makes any sense or not
Explaining core mechanics is not a bad idea. I think the main reason this game is not as large as it shoud be is precisely because thay dont do enough explaining or the explanation is a half a page long. This game should have an option where everything is introduced in a friendly manner then as you get more experienced you can switch to a more detailed option . Like D4 when it starts
I love how that rando guy struggling to kill the boss to show the mechanic of boss fight... instead 1 shot it like we all did in POE 1
looking great , love the variety and complexity to the boss designs . however , why in the world are they designing still around the portal and flask fill from town , such a bizarre statement that its expected behavior eluding to designing the boss fight / flask charge difficulty around teleporting back to town? why in the world would you want to break up an epic boss battle , with what feels like total cheese gameplay opening inventory to open a portal back to safety for refueling , i think it completely bricks the immersion and threat of a boss battle . instead there should be no portals openable in boss arena , dying to boss respawns you at arena entrance ( no back tracking ) , can only die to boss 3 or 5 times each considered a loss , leaving the arena is considered a loss , after 3to5 losses the boss closes the map , boss heals after each loss . then design the difficulty and flask charge distribution in the fight around that , as an actual one time all in fight .
They added a long cast time to portaling in boss fights in order to prevent you from doing it. If you take any damage, you'll be interrupted.
