I am 72 now , and this garden reminds me of being a little girl in my grandmother's garden. I remember playing under some of the shrubs like it was a little house with walls and a roof over my head. I can still see the bush with its little yellow flowers, and feel the cool shade. I felt like it was a little hideaway that no one knew about but me. It was cozy and seet and all mine!!!! Thank you for the memories.
I played in the bushes too when I was a littel girl. Air conditioning was just a swamp cooler, so being near the cool soil was the way to survive summer!
I love the way you have all the borders around your house. I have never seen the blue mist flower before I think its very pretty. I bought Brunner silver heart last autumn and it has set 3 little seedlings in three different areas even though I removed the flower heads. They came true to original plant so next year I won't be so quick to throw out the flowers.
I very much enjoyed your garden tour. As we are in the same zone, I like seeing what you have planted, especially in the shade. I get some wonderful ideas from your garden. This year I tried garden sleeves for the first time and I’ve been very impressed with them, when I can remember to wear them. You might want to consider trying them when working with your ivy. I also have patches of poison ivy courtesy of the birds we encourage to visit our yard. I have put off dealing with it because I, too, am allergic. However, one of our Scotties loves to wander through it whenever she’s outside (which is as often as we’d let her as she is a true terrier) so I need to put aside my angst and just get the job done.
I have been looking at the garden sleeves and thinking I should go for it. Your endorsement is making me go order them now! Thanks so much. I really appreciate your kind comment.
Your garden is beautiful. I am so glad you are enjoying it. The elephant ears remind me of my grandmother in Texas. She had them in her garden. It’s very different from my zone 3 garden in southwest Alberta Canada 🇨🇦. But very lovely. FYI, I would eat the wild onions you have growing. Double check first, if they are like ours, they are eatable. Love watching your videos. ❤

I’m 71, and I also played in my grandmother’s yard. It was like my secret garden.
Sweet memories!!💕

I’m so glad that you removed the ivy. The bare spots look better than the thick over grown ivy.. feels like the soil can actually breathe again😀.
Me too!
Lovely home and garden!
Thanks for visiting
🏡 ~Your garden is so cute! Woodsy, cottage-like, fluffy, & shady, not to perfect or planned.. I love that! 🍂
Thanks so much! 😊It's nice to have my imperfection appreciated!
Beautiful garden

Thank you so much! I have used the onions on potatoes and in salsa. I haven't died yet.
I believe the "wild onion" is actually garlic chives. Great plant in my opinion.
You are right! Since they are all in the allium family, I tend to be very careless with names, much to my shame.
beautiful.
Glad you think so!
Another lovely tour!
Glad you enjoyed it
Enchanting ❤
I really enjoyed the garden tour. You have a lovely home. What zone do you garden in?
I am zone 7b, northern Virginia.
