I agree that Perm is underrated. It is a city without show-offs, but honest and cozy. I like it.

so according to history stories, that culture palace in perm took one extra year to build than the KAZAN CATHEDRAL in saint petersburg back in 1801. which was supposedly based on saint pauls cathedral in rome which according to history stories took 150 years to build. interesting... Perm is cool.

I guess in 1801 there wasn't a war going on so work didn't have to be halted. To be honest with you, I don't know for a fact that work was stopped for many years I just assume it was for two reasons. Firstly men and materials were needed to help fight the war, which was obviously the higher priority and secondly, by Stalinist standards 12 years was a very long time to complete construction. Don't get me wrong, the palace is big but they got up the seven huge Stalin towers in Moscow in only about 5 years right?

Perm seems to be a nice city to live in, please come back in spring and show it in full bloom! Btw pop concerts ALWAYS start late, believe me... What kind of music do you prefer normally? I am a great admirer of Tschaikowsky, Glinka, Prokofjew, Strawinski, Mussorgski and of course Schostakowitsch...

You are a man of great taste! ( I mean your classical music tastes, not your youtube videos tastes!) My favourite Russian Singer (Gregory Leps) always starts his concerts on time so that everyone can make their last bus home!

Perm, city of the last gulag to close and current home of Eli ( great reports ) and home to current prison. BTW, 2nd World War for russia started in 1939 when they invaded Poland and Finland .

hehe, well officially, at least, it started in 1941 when Hitler invaded! I think the gulag which has turned into a tourist destination is actually in Perm region, not Perm city...

You lie. Russia didn't invade Poland. Russia entered territories occupied by Poland after Russian-Polish War of 1920. Poland occupied Minsk and Kiev and REd army had to push them from there, but end of War was after Poland and it grabbed big chunks of Russian territories. Poland took that by force and it was never accepted by international laws. Those were territories of Western Belorussia and Western Ukraine where polish people didn't live. Only Ukraiinians, Rusisans, Belorussians lived there. Besides, Russia entered that territoritories only after Polish state stopped existing. All political leadership of Poland ran away from the country on 10 of September. All military leadership, headquarter ran away from Poland on 14 of Semptember. Russia entered those territories on 17 of Septembe and it was no any regular organized Polish army or resistance. It was simply necessary to keep advancing German Armies as far as possible from Russian vital territories and cities including capital of Ukraine Kiev and capital of Belorussia Minsk. Germans would have been very close to those cities and areas.
City of Brest, for example, belonged to Russia according to post WW1 peace treaty of 1919 in Versaille. According to that treaty , Russian - Polish border was stated as going along Boog River and further to the South. It was so called Curzon LIne, named after British Foreign Minister Curzon, who first proposed that line. And Russian army reached exactly that Curzon line according to internation Versaille Post WW1 Peace Treaty of 1919, according to the internation laws and no country in the world protested agains that because it was lawful.
You can consider start of WW2 invasion of Germany and Poland against Czechoslovakia in 1938. Poland grabbed Czech territory , so called Teshin Industrial District. So, they were both agressors. by the way, Russia warned Poland that in case of their invasion against Czechoslovakia then it would be consequences for Poland.
Regarding Finland. Finland attacked Russian Federation twice - in 1918 and in 1922. They actually grabbed some chunks of Russian territories. Then Nazi Germany started to help Finland to build armed forces. So, it was clear that Finland would start war together with Nazi Germany against Russia. And it exactly happened.
Russia just wanted to secure Leningrad - second largest city of the country and 25% of Russian industry, from fall. So, they proposed Finland many times peaceful agreement. Finland just moves border 25 km from Leningrad and RUissia gives Finland 4 times larger territories in Karelia. Finland was very arrogant and refused all proposals. they felt nazi germany support behind them. So, RUssia wars forces to secure Leningrad by force. Actully it saved Leningrad from capturing of finns and germans and that saved Russia from defeat in entire war.
You can consider start of WW2 when Japan attacked Russian far East, on border with China in 1938 when Russia had to protect their lands and conflict was very heavy and difficult.
You can consier start of WW2 as invasion of fascist Italy and Nazi Germany in Republican Spain in 1935 and Russia immediately reacted and send to Republican anti fascist Spain many tanks, planes, pilots, military advisers and all kind of weapons and military equipment. Many Russian military men died there fighting for Republican Spain.
Regarind Gulag. Gulag is not camp or prison. Gulag means ( Gosudarstvennoe Upravlenit Lagerei) that means State Department of Prison camps. It's just offices. state Department. Your propaganda seriously damaged your brain, so you repeat same anti russian cliches and lies since end of WW2. Where did you get info about Perm and its camps. When exactly they were closed. And what are facts, documents, proving that. In what archives there were found in.
Perm is one of the largest cities of Russia, big industrial, scientific cente, cultural centre , that was founded many centuries ago.
