- A montage of this old 1 cent Silver King gumball machine going through a partial restoration. Originally a hammered blue painted machine, the new owners wanted this machine to have the old yellow paint that showed years and years of patina. So everything mechanical and inside the vending machine that had areas that would touch gum or candy would need to be restored - plus a few broken parts replaced along the way!

That's awesome! I love it!
Thank you!
I need help with my Machine
I have it apart but having placement issues with springs.
Any help would be appreciated
@@jamescurtiscalhoun772 I''m sorry that I never saw this. I don't recall getting any notifications to it, possibly because it was underneath a previous response. Anyhow... did you get the spring placement figured out?
😊
Can I ask a question? I’ve got the same old machine and here’s the problem. If someone simply spins the metal lid on the top of the glass globe, the lock unscrews itself from the rod, rather there is a key or not. I got a replacement lock and it does the same. The “sleeve” that the key timber sits into is smooth on all four inner sides, no profile what so ever. Is this right? I must be doing something wrong!!
Can you email me at kanaugakool@gmail.com and let’s figure this out? 👍
I have two of those Silver kings in working order. This morning I took photographs of the lock and lid as I took it apart for you to compare. Email me and I’ll send them to you to see what is different on yours.
