34067 ‘Tangmere’, & the return of LNER A2 60532 ‘Blue Peter’, on the ECML; 19 June - 13 July 2024.

We spent a bit of late June catching up with a pair of special workings: an empty stock East Midlands Railway ‘Aurora’ bi-mode class 810 (in self-powered mode) and a class 73/9 being towed to Scotland for north of Edinburgh Caledonian Sleeper duties.
Southern Region Battle of Britain class 34067 'Tangmere' made a few visits on two excursions: West Coast Railways 'The Scarborough Spa Express' and the Railway Touring Company ‘The Waverley’; unfortunately with the latter excursion at the back of the train (reversing at Leeds City station in both directions).
Finally, we see the return of the last remaining LNER Peppercorn class A2 pacific 60532 ‘Blue Peter’ on her first demonstration charter (for about two decades) on the East Coast Main Line to York; resplendent in her British Railways blue livery rolling though the suburbs of York.
