When was omitted from this review (a HUGH omission in my eyes) was the fact that if you record a show to your "library" to watch later, if you don't watch it the same day, it will be filled with commercials you are unable to fast forward or skip through. (Evidently, if a program is offered "On Demand," the show you recorded to your "library" will be replaced by an "On Demand" version filled with these endless non-skipable commercials.) That was a deal breaker for me. Evidently, they made a deal to not allow commercial skips in order to obtain programing. I'd happily pay more for the ability to skip or fast forward through, but it's not an offered option. My personal feeling is, if you record a show to their "cloud DVR" you shouldn't be prohibited from fast forwarding through commercials!
You didn't mention the problem with DVR episodes changing to On Demand (including commercials) as soon as the channel has the On Demand version available, sometimes even minutes after the show ends. That was a deal breaker for me.
No way I would ever watch a show again with ads that can't be fast forwarded. I'm spoiled and watching 7 ads between every four minutes of content is more than annoying. @kinggimp3
My problem with YTTV is the way they record things. Say a show airs twice. They will take the second airing and re-record it over the first one. Why is that a problem? Because the second airing might be preempted with breaking news. Now you are left with a recording of something you do not want, and your first original recording is gone. So you can never see your show! An additional problem is when setting a recording there is no way to limit it to just new episodes or just episodes from one station. Let's use The Simpson's as an example. It airs on a number of different channels. Now you have a mess on your hands full of reruns you have no interest in and that you have to wade through to find the episode you actually want to watch. No bueno.
UPDATE: They have addressed one of my problems. They now show multiple versions of the same recorded show so you can pick the one you want. However this feature is buried and can only be found by first clicking on the show, then getting a list of episodes, then pressing the little arrow next to episode which when then show a drop down list of more recordings. Way too cumbersome. They need to clean up the UI quite a bit here. But at least the ability is there now.
can someone tell me if two different households can use the same log in at the same time assuming you don't use more than 3 screens at a time? I want to share an. account with my sister, we live in the same city just different houses.
Yes I think they give you 3 simultaneous streams with one login, which you can use at different locations. Most of these streaming services give you a couple of streams with one login, some just 2, other as many 5.
Love YT TV. Channel lineup is now much better than Sling or DTV at their lower prices. The $70 version of DTV is stronger but more expensive. UA-cam TV has the best interface, best streaming, and they tie in with Google Chromecast for streaming from your phone or other mobile devices.
Jon Willis Don't think their channel lineup is better than Sling TV. Don't think Sling TV has DVR capabilities yet, well at least they didn't last time I checked.
Art Dog sling has a DVR. $5 a month for 50 hours. I am trying to decide what to switch to next week. Comcast is making me pay $50 more for unlimited internet. So if i drop my tv, keep the extreme 300mbps service at the 99.99 everyday price, plus the $50 for unlimited data. Add $40 if i choose UA-cam tv, i pay what i am paying now Just don't have data charges anymore. I pay 210 to 240 a month more when i go over my 1TB of data. And i use about 1.6 per month. So yeah
Basic Cable costs 40.00 to 50.00 a month soooo??? Why would you want this??I don't understand why people would pay for multiple app services and it would be as expensive or more than cable in the first place???
I draw a valid point here. I think stream TV is a great option don't get me wrong but like UA-cam TV. It has a long way to go before it's "" great"". If it was a valid option in cord cutting or whatever the cool kids call it that would be great. I'm saying why don't they offer this as a package with internet service provider. Wait I know cause UA-cam has boukoos of $$$$$. And wants to be a monopoly and in control of you just like all other service providers. One day we will get it paying this much or the same for services we still tend to barely use sounds kinda monotonous.
If you sign up before the 15th of March it stays 35 and you will be locked into that price. If you sign up after that it will increase to 40 a month. So if you don't got it get it now.
I save 35 dollars a month by not signing up for it at all.Nothing but junk channels with more advertising than you can shake a stick at. My time is more valuable than that.
I hate that UA-camTV doesn't have a phone line for customer service. I found a phone number for them, but you have to press this number, then that number, then another number and you can't ever get an actual human to talk to. I've reported my problem several times and it keeps coming back. After watching my shows they keep coming back on my lineup as shows to watch and I can't seem to get rid of them, I'VE ALREADY WATCHED THEM! I'm really starting to hate UA-camTV. I've never had those troubles with cable or satellite TV. I'm really thinking about going back to them.
One thing I don't like about this idea is that I don't like sports. Im more of a girly girl. They have so many sports channels, and I don't want any. One problem I have with cable is the paying for sports channels I do not need nor want.
I had it and it was nice but the profiles are not the same as profiles you use on PSVue or Hulu TV. Their assigned to a specific device so you can't switch between profiles like you can the others. PSVue was great but unfortunately it didn't have some channels my wife loves like Liftime and UA-cam TV was nice also but the whole profile and DVR thing was problematic. Hulu TV hit the stop.
Availability of local channels is of little value when you can easily get them with an antenna.. What I would like to know of UA-camTV and other TV streaming services is if there is a means to easily select various data rates. With data limits on Internet plans it sometimes becomes necessary to reduce resolution to stay under you Internet data limits. On Netflix I have set up a seperate profile that is configured at a lower data rate which uses about a tenth the data. I only use it when I am getting close to busting my Internet data limit. That method is not ideal, but it works when you need to use it.
Yes you can and probably save money but you need to research the different streaming tv's from Hulu to Sling or Directvnow also Infinity also has a streaming tv app. Good Luck😃
UA-camTV is missing two of my favorite channels Investigation Discovery (ID), Viceland, etc. As soon as they add those two, sign me up! :) The notion of UA-camTV to be available in certain "markets" just sounds ridiculous, I mean an internet packet is just a packet whether it's being received in New York City or Sydney Australia... just sounds silly to me, maybe I'm missing something. By the way I could care less about "local" channels, I never watch those anyway, and if I wanted to a cheap "rabbit ear" can tune it in.
Well good for you but some of us want our local channels and cannot pick them up on "rabbit ears" or even a boosted power antenna (due to terrain). I thought I would never be able to cut the cable cord! But thanks to UA-camTV I am cable-free since July 1. This is the only streaming service I pay for so it is a lot cheaper than cable for me to get all four of the networks, local news, national "news" networkds, all the ESPN's and other sports channels I need for my college football.
UA-cam TV is a winnner for me. Dont have a Roku just yet so dont know how it is on a streaming media player (outside of ccast), but on my PC and via Chromecast its basically the speed and functionality of regular youtube...just for live tv. For that reason alone combined with the price, that already puts it ahead. This video hits the nail on the head as far as the simplicity of the pricing/package structure, it got frustrating with the other services, youtube tv having one package with all the channels I need at one decent price is pretty damn cool. No brainer so far.
love it. for whatever reason, live tv never worked with hulu and others. with yttv, its perfect. guess they know something about buffering. no more pixelation.
I switched to UA-cam TV from Directv Now two months ago. The unlimited DVR is the biggest advantage over all others. I cannot stand to watch live TV because of all the commercials - altho I do stop and watch the funny ones. I was concerned at first about it recording every instance of NCIS including all reruns, but it organizes your "Library" so you get the latest episodes listed first. Also, it is true that they record off your local station so you can lose part of an episode occasionally - BUT just go to the station on the internet and you can usually watch it in full and I have found that if I wait a day they pull in the full version into the library. It is fast, in HD, and I have no complaints at all. I use a ROKU TV (TCL) and it works flawlessly. I also have a computer hooked up to the TV and it works flawlessly too. As far as channel lineup, They have all of the sports channels and local channels where I live that I have time to watch. I had 80+ on Directv now, but I never watched most of them. Some of the shows that you record allow you to jump past the commercials and some don't, but the ones with commercials from the network are usually shorter than the broadcast version. like what HULU does. One comment claimed you can get basic cable for this price - BS - I keep looking just in case and the basic version costs double or more when you add in what you get with UA-cam: DVR, HD service, more than 20 channels, sports channels, 6 separate boxes (UA-cam lets you have 6 separate accounts each with their own DVR), etc. The TV Guide for live TV is amazing. Directv now just added dvr and gives you 20 hours to use for 30 days or 90 days, I can't recall exactly. UA-cam TV is unlimited! You can record every show on every channel every night if you wanted to and each one will be available for 9 MONTHS, not 90 days. Plus they have the usual library of past shows on the channels they provide with ads like HULU even if you did not record anything.
What I want is a good, old fashioned "channel up, channel down" just like cable tv. Sling didn't have that simple feature and I couldn't deal with going back to a menu to select the next channel. I hope UA-cam TV has it.
UA-cam TV is a separate subscription from UA-cam Red, so unless you have a Red subscription, you'll still see commercials on UA-cam videos, even if you use UA-cam TV. Here's the response from Google itself: support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7280308?hl=en
UA-camTV is missing two of my favorite channels Investigation Discovery (ID), and Vice. As soon as they add those two, sign me up! :) The notion of UA-camTV to be available in certain "markets" only sounds ridiculous, I mean an internet packet is just a packet whether it's being received in New York City or Sydney Australia... just sounds silly to me, maybe I'm missing something. I definitely like the idea of UA-cam TV it sounds interesting and for 40 bucks a month that’s not bad. I do have an Apple TV at home and that makes it even better. Thank you I will be checking this out.
Everyone has own tastes. I enjoy HGTV and Food Network. Other competitors have these channels. Until UA-cam TV gets a contract with Scripps I will have to stay with Hulu.
As a weakness, No Viacom channels, random blackout. tried to watch a show on CW and it said it was blacked out. Major plus is accesibility, easy to watch on the phone/tablet when I'm not home.
I wish! I'd go get me a set like that in a heart beat. I got my flatscreen in 2011 and it's already on its last legs. Old crts lasted way longer. 3 examples of old TVs here. 1. The tv I had in my room was originally in the living room while I was a baby. It was moved to my room because it didn't fit in the nee entertainment center my parents got. Never mind the fact that it still worked perfectly AFTER getting struck by lightning (the lightning hit the antenna on our roof and fried a few appliances, but we had no fire). We finally got it hooked up again in my room when I was 8. It finally stopped working when I was like 14. That tv itself was older than I was. 2. My grandmother had a tv in the living room. It was the 2nd tv she had ever owned, and she got it sometime in the 60s. It finally stopped working about 5 years ago. 1960ish to 2014 is a lot longer than most TVs now a days can hope to pull off. I would not mind a tv lasting me until the kids i dont have yet graduate and move out lol. 3. My grandma's other tv. It was in her bedroom. She got it from HER PARENTS. From what I gather, it was probably one of the first color tvs ever made. It still works if you can get to hook up to a DVR or modern cable connection too. It was the TV us grandkids used when we stayed over while the adults watched tv in the living room. After all, what kid wants to watch the news?
Im planning on checking this service out sometime soon, but i wonder why cable and streaming services are so extremely dedicated to sports channels, i am not a sports fan of any kind, and maybe theres not many of my kind around but maybe someone should do a poll of some sort to find out just how many people really want all of those sports channels, to me it should be a choice if somebody wants all that, and from looking at the channel list there are plenty of them, but there are no choices, which for me is a bummer😖 anyway I'm just saying, not really looking for an answer😄😁
Ok I have Directvnow for the moment not a really great lineup $70.00 a month live tv plus $50.00 for the internet 60 channels 8 or 9 are sports like you I don't care nothin bout no sport's .I'm 71yrs and the only sport I care about is dancing .Have a good day😃
You have three options - watch live, watch a pre-recorded show from UA-cam's list, or watch something from your own playlist. When watching LIVE - it is just like watching cable or antenna - you segue right into the next show. Otherwise each show is a stand-alone choice.
Trying to decide if fire stick and youtube is the right choice for us ? Where can I look and see if able to get youtube in our area? We have DirecTV satellite for many years.
This is the wave of the future. No more receivers, satellite dishes etc. Just as streaming music apps have cut out CDs and CD players and revolutionized the music industry. I signed up for DirecTV NOW and its been awesome. have only had a couple of glitches so far in the 3 weeks I have had it. Its nice being able to watch TV no matter how bad the weather is.
there are a lot of channels missing from youtube tv: hbo and cinemax boomerang the hallmark channels A&e and Lifetime channels the viacom channels (which includes many of the Nickelodeon channels, mtv, tvland, etc) additional local channels (metv, laff, thistv. etc) and many others
Does the party stop when your ISP decides you've exceeded your monthly bandwidth allotment? Seems like this streaming firehose might comes with some caveats.
So the problem with UA-cam TV is that you still need the Cable for internet to even use UA-cam TV. What we need are more internet options. So far where I live you have two options Cox cable which is very expensive for just internet or Centurylink and the REVIEWS on Centurylink's connections are really bad. Honestly I don't even watch TV anymore since everything has gone Bali-wood I just want an internet option without cable.
Emantha CardieL Yeah so seems like you end up having to pay twice for 2 services to use it. Which kind of takes away the advantage it's have over cable companies like Time Warner Spectrum and AT&T. 🤔
Why wouldn't it be available nation wide if it's available wirelessly and on both the site and on an app interface similar to Netflix? This is confusing.
So far UA-cam is the best tv out there I have all channels that I need I pay $35 a month no taxes no fees picture never freezes high-definition beautiful amazing
All the other services are about the same price. My "DirecTV Now" started at 35 bucks but they've jacked it up to 50 over the last ~2 years. I like their service except it doesn't "cast" worth a damn. I can "cast" to a "dumb" TV in my bedroom using Chromecast with Netflix, UA-cam, CBS on Demand, you name it. But DirecTV Now refuses to do the same without constant stuttering. I have 1 gig internet so it should be smooth as a babies bottom. I think I'll drop DirecTV Now and give UA-cam TV a shot.
Me too but I hope it is after I get grandfathered in at 40 bucks a month. That is another reason streaming is the way to go bc they raise the price but not on current members
You have to go to the website to customize your channel guide listing (channels listed and order), but at least you can do it (I skip all the Hispanic channels, obviously).
Definitely needs their channels expanded to at least like DirecTVnow. I just need one channel to be added, the ever popular Investigation Discovery (ID)!! You hear that UA-cam?! And you've got another customer! :P
Signed up yesterday to get the $35 rate. I'm so looking forward to cancelling my Directv once my Roku sticks get here. $144/month savings (sacrificing HBO and sports package that hardly ever get watched).
Does is stream in 4K? I have spectrum and I get the HD channels but if I switch I want that same quality or better that’s why I purchased a 4K tv in the first place
I think this video is pretty old, but I just have one question here. So, I live in an apartment building that expressly uses Century link and mediacom. I have mediacom now, but it's absolute crap and CenturyLink seems to only be trying their very best to be worse. As such, I really want to try youtube tv. I understand I need a roku player rather than the TiVo I already have rented from mediacom, but can actually get youtube tv? Will my landlord allow it? Should I even inquire? Can they do anything about it if I do successfully get youtube? I live in a pretty rural area, but from what I understand, youtube tv is available here. Most of all, is youtube tv good? How does it all work actually? This is my first time not going with z more traditional isp/cable provider, and I should note I plan on keeping my mediacom internet and just cutting the cable. I really have no other choice around here unless I want dial-up, because that's about the best internet up here. I currently have dsl.
Is it possible to stream the UA-cam TV video and audio content into your own DVR system instead of the UA-cam cloud DVR, so you can skip all the recorded TV commercials for all programs and channels? The inability to skip TV commercials would make UA-cam TV unwatchable. We’ve been skipping TV commercials for a decade, never watching live TV, never watching TV commercials.
Missed the free 30 day trial... Caught a 5 day free trial, then couple days later I see an ad for a 15 day trail.... I think if I would have had the time to experience it more I would have purchased it for me and my family....
So help me understand. Can I subscribe to UA-cam TV if not in one of the current markets? I'm closest to Boston (live in rural Maine). Can I, for the time being and until coverage is extended, use an antenna for local TV and still use UA-cam TV? Do they offer a current trial period like the other streaming services?
Here's a list of markets where UA-cam TV is currently available: support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7068923?hl=en If you're curious whether your specific area is covered, you can start the signup process, which will ask for your ZIP code. That will give you a clear yes or no on coverage in your area.
I used to have UA-cam TV. I am not sure if remembering correctly but if your DVR content is not viewed soon enough it was converted to network on demand content. This included commercials that could not be fast forwarded through. Is it still that way?
Yes, it converts the next day so then you're stuck with endless commercials. Yuck! I canceled after my 7 day free trial when I discovered this. What a major flaw!
Any help with TV guide? I am using on an iPhone 8 and when on the UA-cam TV app I can’t see what will be on later in the day. It just displays the current live tv programming. Thanks UA-camRS!
I have a question: if youtube TV doesn't show a guide how can you record a show, envent, movie etc that will be transmitted in the future? for example I want to record a sport game that will be broadcast live the next day how can I schedule it to be recorded? is this possible without a guide? this for me is a deal-breaker
UA-cam TV does have a guide. You go to the Live tab and voila. But, like most guides, it only shows what's scheduled for the next few days. So if there's something further out than that you want to record, you can search for it. UA-cam TV will then pull up a page for that show and display any upcoming airings. You can then click the + button to add that show to your library. Once you do that, UA-cam TV will automatically record any episodes of that show that come on.
Here's what their support site says, "You can record any program that airs on UA-cam TV. Recording doesn't take up space on your device, but you need to be connected to the internet to view recorded programs." Now, we haven't tested to see if it's truly unlimited recording at once, and UA-cam doesn't state that clearly. We'll test it out and try to get back to you asap.
I was going to sign up with it to get TV for $35 a month, but now that they've changed their prices, I will be signing up with Hulu TV, AND I SUGGEST EVERYONE ELSE DO THE SAME!
Are you kidding -- This is unquestionably the best cable cutter collection anywhere. Sports particularly strong and better than anyone else. At $40 its a bargain and keeps combo with internet at LESS than $100.
You can, but there's no pro-ration. When the monthly cycle you're in ends (and you've cancelled during that cycle), they won't bill you for any future months.
I also have sure direct, I really don't k ow how this utube tv works, sounds like it's complicated for a novis 'widowerer'. Is there anyone that can help u through all the red tape?, people keep taljing about , fitestick..etc, cable carrier, u have to have specific one's, I need help.
I have it, and I'm pleased with the quality of picture and ease of use. Only issue is no digital sub-channels on the OTA locals, like MeTV, Antenna TV, etc., and no PBS or CSPAN. Also no NFL Channel.
This does not feel like a review at all. This is an advertisement. No one would think youtube tv is better than Hulu and not mention Netflix. Also seeing as how the price is five times the price of every other streaming service available. I can get Hulu, Netflix, Disney Plus and Apple TV+ for $35 for all of these services, still $15 less than youtube so I can ass HBO.
Can someone please help me, I just bought a Kindle Fire 7, just to have something bigger than my phone to watch my games. But, on the Kindle, I guess apps and everything is somewhat different. Can anyone tell me if the Kindle 7 has UA-cam Tv as well??
I love UA-cam TV it has everything but BET. Once they get that they will be #1, it works great through your internet without any hiccups. No issues during rain, snow or sleet like regular Direct-TV. Please check it out!
Are the local channels based on your billing address or where you physically are? Meaning if I’m traveling will I got those local channels or the same ones I get at home.
This is a great question and tricky to find an answer for. All I could track down was where UA-cam TV is actually available. I assume it's location, not billing based on how NBA League pass and other work. Here is all I could find: support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7068923?hl=en
Hi Rodney! Here's what I found: "UA-cam TV works on most Android L devices and above, including on both phones and tablets. Note: UA-cam TV is not currently available on Pixel C devices, but this is coming soon."support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7129767?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en
Thinking about getting UA-cam tv. They have local service in my city. I pay comcast ~$220 a month more starting next month because i used up my Grace period of data over 1TB. So if i drop down to internet only, keeping my extreme 300Mbps internet. That is $99.99 formy area, plus $50 for unlimited data. Plus $40 for UA-cam tv. I seam to come out even once you add taxes back in.

Bud Hendershot all Roku house? So you're a snowflake house
does it stream msnbc pretty good? someone was saying on hulu the live streaming is them just showing free clips from msnbc's website
So, does that mean you prefer watching TV via Roku instead of UA-cam TV?
Ronz agree, he lost me on which he preferred.

I'm not savvy enough to understand your comment, and I'd really like to know. Can you break it down a la UA-cam TV for Dummies? ;)
No way I would ever watch a show again with ads that can't be fast forwarded. I'm spoiled and watching 7 ads between every four minutes of content is more than annoying. @kinggimp3
ya dvr is a joke you gotta watch vod instead of dvr whats dvr for then after football season im canceling

dollysinn Reported again. I guess you really don’t want your account.
dollysinn I am sure Google will have something to say about that. 😎
Greg G Learn to turn the other cheek...dont be so offended. Sticks and stones...
Ive tried them all.UA-cam TV is the only service that allowed me to cut the cord.Highly recommend!
Andrew Fordham
So your internet service doesn't have a cord to your house or modem or router?? Interesting???
Andrew Fordham i just cut the cord last week and got upgraded internet. so YTTV is my first option. thanks!
can someone tell me if two different households can use the same log in at the same time assuming you don't use more than 3 screens at a time? I want to share an. account with my sister, we live in the same city just different houses.
Yes I think they give you 3 simultaneous streams with one login, which you can use at different locations. Most of these streaming services give you a couple of streams with one login, some just 2, other as many 5.
how do you do this?

Thanks for your advice, John! Glad you like UA-cam TV!
Jon Willis channel line up isn't better but it might be specifically better for you.
Comcast is making me pay $50 more for unlimited internet. scs.classics it can stream to 3 devices simultaneously. What's the cost of additional boxes? That's where you save. What's the cost of DVR service?
scs.classics Basic cable does not cost $40-50 where I live. And certainly doesn't include as diverse channels.
Ok, so your going to need a strong internet service. How much will that cost unless you want it to keep buffering
scs.classics That $40 is usually a temporary/introductory price. UA-cam even added NBA that normally doesn’t come with basic
I draw a valid point here. I think stream TV is a great option don't get me wrong but like UA-cam TV. It has a long way to go before it's "" great"". I save 35 dollars a month by not signing up for it at all.Nothing but junk channels with more advertising than you can shake a stick at. My time is more valuable than that.
It's $49.99/mo.
Just go to settings and contact them through the help and feedback they actually respond back fast
How did this end up? Did you stay with UA-cam TV?
One thing I don't like about this idea is that I don't like sports. Im more of a girly girl. They have so many sports channels, and I don't want any. One problem I have with cable is the paying for sports channels I do not need nor want.
Luckily for you, there are plenty of streaming services with less sports!
Hey UA-cam TV is a great value, also local channels change when you go to the cities that you are in!!
We agree, Gary! It's great.
Interesting additional info. Thanks for the insight!
Harry Flores Hulu makes you wait the next day to view original programming right though?
Availability of local channels is of little value when you can easily get them with an antenna..
What I would like to know of UA-camTV and other TV streaming services is if there is a means to easily select various data rates. With data limits on Internet plans it sometimes becomes necessary to reduce resolution to stay under you Internet data limits. On Netflix I have set up a seperate profile that is configured at a lower data rate which uses about a tenth the data. I only use it when I am getting close to busting my Internet data limit. That method is not ideal, but it works when you need to use it.
True if you have a great antenna....
So if i discontinue my cable and keep my internet and phone package, i can stream to my Roku tv using my internet? Cutting my cable cost.
Yes you can!
Bill Paulk yes!
The notion of UA-camTV to be available in certain "markets" just sounds ridiculous, I mean an internet packet is just a packet whether it's being received in New York City or Sydney Australia... just sounds silly to me, maybe I'm missing something.
Inlove I'd channel as well ut my provider took it away because of contract disputes so I'll still save $100 a month😁
I’ve had it for a few months and it works great and I love that you can add family members at no additional cost!
Glad to hear you're happy, Michael!
Reviews.org it’s a excellent alternative to cable tv !! And much cheaper!!
@@treuskinssworldwide Can you watch two different shows st the same time
How
UA-cam TV is a winnner for me.
We agree, Al! We think UA-cam TV is awesome!
No History channel. I would have already canceled my Xfinity TV service if UA-cam TV had History, Discovery and Animal Planet.
I love UA-cam tv because I can get all my local channels! Streams really clear without lagging! Have tried other carriers and none are as good!
outdated
love it. for whatever reason, live tv never worked with hulu and others. with yttv, its perfect. guess they know something about buffering. no more pixelation.
The channel lineup looks good to me, idk why others say it's terrible
If they can Viacom to get a deal done with UA-cam, Then I’m getting UA-cam TV.I need Comedy Central,mtv,Vh1 and bet.
Yep. Viacom would be a good get. But if they got them, the cost would probably jump another $5/mo.
You can get Philo for $16 to supplement for the Viacom channels.

What I want is a good, old fashioned "channel up, channel down" just like cable tv. Sling didn't have that simple feature and I couldn't deal with going back to a menu to select the next channel. I hope UA-cam TV has it.
Thank you for sharing this information! What a great way to still watch your favorite shows especially if you are on a budget! Awesome video!
Is UA-cam red, no commercials, included?
UA-cam TV is a separate subscription from UA-cam Red, so unless you have a Red subscription, you'll still see commercials on UA-cam videos, even if you use UA-cam TV. Here's the response from Google itself: support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7280308?hl=en
Well they include UA-cam red in it but like other poster said it won’t be commercial free
Just checked UA-cam red is included. You also get google play music streaming
UA-cam tv = live tv, dvr, youtube red and google music?
UA-camTV is missing two of my favorite channels Investigation Discovery (ID), and Vice. As soon as they add those two, sign me up! :)
The notion of UA-camTV to be available in certain "markets" only sounds ridiculous, I mean an internet packet is just a packet whether it's being received in New York City or Sydney Australia... just sounds silly to me, maybe I'm missing something. By the way I could care less about "local" channels, I never ever watch those.
Until UA-cam TV gets a contract with Scripps I will have to stay with Hulu.
two of my must have channels as well.
I already have premium so my question is will UA-cam TV be commercial free also?
As a weakness, No Viacom channels, random blackout. tried to watch a show on CW and it said it was blacked out.
Major plus is accesibility, easy to watch on the phone/tablet when I'm not home.
Great notes. I didn't have any blackout issues, but maybe because I wasn't watching the same stuff during my tests.
Chicago residents no WGN, which carries local Chicago sports sometimes. Need to get antenna.
Does it work on analog television sets manufactured in the 1980's?
LMAO
Will i be able to watch queen of the South season 3 on UA-cam tv tho
Im planning on checking this service out sometime soon, but i wonder why cable and streaming services are so extremely dedicated to sports channels, i am not a sports fan of any kind, and maybe theres not many of my kind around but maybe someone should do a poll of some sort to find out just how many people really want all of those sports channels, to me it should be a choice if somebody wants all that, and from looking at the channel list there are plenty of them, but there are no choices, which for me is a bummer😖 anyway I'm just saying, not really looking for an answer😄😁
You should check out Philo!
Ok I have Directvnow for the moment not a really great lineup $70.00 a month live tv plus $50.00 for the internet 60 channels 8 or 9 are sports like you I don't care nothin bout no sport's .I'm 71yrs and the only sport I care about is dancing .Have a good day😃
If you’re watching say a show, what happens when it goes off? Do you have to find a new one or will it continue to the next show automatically?
UnBiased Consumer Great question, that unfortunately no one has answered.
You have three options - watch live, watch a pre-recorded show from UA-cam's list, or watch something from your own playlist. When watching LIVE - it is just like watching cable or antenna - you segue right into the next show. Otherwise each show is a stand-alone choice.
Can I also use it when I go to my vacation home? Or are we locked to one place?
If they had this on Fire Tv or Fire Stick ! I'd pay that $40 no problem !
You look like Jason Sudeikis
Can't say I've gotten that one before. Thank you?!
I was thinking the exact same thing. Are you sure you're not Jason Sudeikis, actually?
Trying to decide if fire stick and youtube is the right choice for us ? Where can I look and see if able to get youtube in our area? We have DirecTV satellite for many years.
This is the wave of the future. No more receivers, satellite dishes etc. Just as streaming music apps have cut out CDs and CD players and revolutionized the music industry. I signed up for DirecTV NOW and its been awesome. have only had a couple of glitches so far in the 3 weeks I have had it. Its nice being able to watch TV no matter how bad the weather is.
Glad to hear you're happy with DTV Now!
there are a lot of channels missing from youtube tv:
hbo and cinemax
boomerang
the hallmark channels
A&e and Lifetime channels
the viacom channels (which includes many of the Nickelodeon channels, mtv, tvland, etc)
additional local channels (metv, laff, thistv. etc)
and many others
I wonder when any of these types of services will ever be available in Rural America ...?
We hope so, Dan!
Why wouldn't it be available nation wide if it's available wirelessly and on both the site and on an app interface similar to Netflix? This is confusing.
Does it work well /consistently with a VPN
So far UA-cam is the best tv out there I have all channels that I need I pay $35 a month no taxes no fees picture never freezes high-definition beautiful amazing
Woo woo! Glad you like it.
Can you watch all college football games ?
I am considering this service, but it is now $50 which is considerably less than UVERSE. Thanks for this information
Great review! I hope they expand the channel lineup.
Thank you! We hope so, too!
Bill A I will like them to do that after I sign up so I am grandfathered in on the current price lol
Does it work in a foreign country using a VPN? Can I just try on a month to month basis or is by contract?
How many devices can you have it on and how many tvs can you watch at the same time?
Signed up yesterday to get the $35 rate. I'm so looking forward to cancelling my Directv once my Roku sticks get here. $144/month savings (sacrificing HBO and sports package that hardly ever get watched).
Glad to hear it, Brandon!
Does is stream in 4K? I have spectrum and I get the HD channels but if I switch I want that same quality or better that’s why I purchased a 4K tv in the first place
Did the same 2 months ago.Im saving a ton & not missing out on anything that I used to watch with cable.
Brandon Pitts you can get hbo now, for like $10.00 a month, if that interests you
I'll probably break and give in to that once GOT comes back on.
Can you watch live fights??.like UFC??
Hey man! I appreciate your reviews and humor! Keep it up!
Hey, thanks! You just made my day.
what devices is the youtube tv app available on
Just about everything except Amazon products.
Works great on Roku Express . Got mine from Walmart for $30
Does this have Univision ? Need it for the world cup
Premium channels like HBO or Starz. Is there an option for that?
Can I combined both UA-cam Red and UA-cam TV together without no commericals?
Missing HGTV one of the most popular channels.
Yeah, that is a great channel.
Its been added now though...
Can you watch UA-cam red shows on UA-cam tv if you don’t have a UA-cam red subscription, but you have a UA-cam tv subscription?
UA-cam TV is perfect for me. I just need my Viacom channels (MTV, VH1, Nick, BET ect...) and it'll be perfect !
Here's a list of markets where UA-cam TV is currently available: support.google.com/youtubetv/answer/7068923?hl=en
If you're curious whether your specific area is covered, you can start the signup process, which will ask for your ZIP code. That will give you a clear yes or no on coverage in your area.
Does YTTV get all the ESPN channels? Sports channels like PAC-12, Fox Sports, etc?
I used to have UA-cam TV. I am not sure if remembering correctly but if your DVR content is not viewed soon enough it was converted to network on demand content. This included commercials that could not be fast forwarded through. Is it still that way?
Yes, it converts the next day so then you're stuck with endless commercials. Yuck! I canceled after my 7 day free trial when I discovered this. What a major flaw!
My problems are : no service for the last week AND no place to complain about the same to.
I have one question: the DVR how many channels can I record at the same time, my Directv box lets me record 5 at the same time?
Here's what their support site says, "You can record any program that airs on UA-cam TV. Recording doesn't take up space on your device, but you need to be connected to the internet to view recorded programs."
Now, we haven't tested to see if it's truly unlimited recording at once, and UA-cam doesn't state that clearly. We'll test it out and try to get back to you asap.
Do you have to have internet service in your home to get it?
Yes! If you do not have internet, we recommend HD antennas. www.reviews.org/tv-service/best-indoor-hd-antennas/
What I'm really worried about is the streaming cutting out if the internet goes down.
I'm thinking about giving it a shot. How the fuck does Showtime think it's still worth $11/mo in this day and age.
You can cancel at any time?
Yes, you can!
You can, but there's no pro-ration. When the monthly cycle you're in ends (and you've cancelled during that cycle), they won't bill you for any future months.
Would an add appear on a live sports game like the upcoming World Cup? Soccer games don't go to commercial break until halftime 45+ mins in.
Why does the video look grainy?
the local channels are not live when you record them..they seem to a day behind.. only found this out after subscribing to it !!!
How do I get rid of the prompt/popup?
do the have a lot of movies?
So no nfl Sunday ticket?
$40.000 is great compared to what I get with direct's lowest package. How can I find out more information about YTubes TV packages, programming etc ?
I also have sure direct, I really don't k ow how this utube tv works, sounds like it's complicated for a novis 'widowerer'. Is there anyone that can help u through all the red tape?, people keep taljing about , fitestick..etc, cable carrier, u have to have specific one's, I need help.
I have it, and I'm pleased with the quality of picture and ease of use. Only issue is no digital sub-channels on the OTA locals, like MeTV, Antenna TV, etc., and no PBS or CSPAN. Also no NFL Channel.
Glad to hear it, Brent!
Can you still watch it when you travel outside the US? Thanks
Nope! You can only watch it in regions YTTV is available which is still quite limited.
Great Review!! Do you know which Streaming TV has the TLC channel?
Thanks, Linda! Playstation VUE has TLC! Here's our written review for it: www.reviews.org/tv-service/playstation-vue-streaming-service-review/
Can someone please help me, I just bought a Kindle Fire 7, just to have something bigger than my phone to watch my games. But, on the Kindle, I guess apps and everything is somewhat different. Can anyone tell me if the Kindle 7 has UA-cam Tv as well??
I just installed it last night and now I’m trying to figure it all out!
what about ad commercials? I dont want to get and i have to see a lot of ad commercials when watching shows.
Thanks for the review. Can I watch content streaming via cellular on my iPad, but connected to a big screen TV via Apple’s HDMI adapter?
Yep. Logically you should be able to, but I can’t promise their won’t be lag using a cellular network depending on where you live.
I love UA-cam TV it has everything but BET. Once they get that they will be #1, it works great through your internet without any hiccups. No issues during rain, snow or sleet like regular Direct-TV. Please check it out!
How long is the free trial period?
One month!
There is no Hallmark channels that my wife loves which is a issue for me !
Happy wife ,Happy Life
Maybe you should pay for her to get some education so she can grow a brain and stop consuming media that was created for absolute morons.
Great Review! Very helpful!!
Thanks, Erik!
Reviews.org just signed up, so we will see!
Will I be able to use it on a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime by Samsung?
When a service such as UA-cam tv increases cost. Do they increase the cost of current subscribers as well.
