If you are not doing noodle violence, are you doing noodle right? Or violence right? Or Dumplings for that matter? As for Diablo, Ed nailed it. It about grinding for the small little things that makes it fun. The higher levels of difficulty that you unlock and grind for give you more access to more legendaries which quite significantly augment your powers, and Uniques, which will even change your playstyle, much like the Exotics in Destiny, except in addition to being a good weapon, like the Thunderstrike (?) that machine gun that shoot out lightning storms, it will also cause a lightning storm whenever you use your Melee or Bomb. All in all, I like the slaughter and mindlessly of it :) Fantasy mindless, I go to Diablo/WoW. Gun pew pew mindless Violence, I go to Warframe. :) As for the story, it is better told and richer than WoW ( I didn't feel it is fair to compare Blizz to non-Blizz games as Blizz will lose hands and feet down). Part of it is also nostalgia, as there are many things that harken back to Diablo 2 when the game visited this area. The music themes also brings you back to D2, and boy is it really good. :)
