I think you'll love RoW, uncovering some of the deeper science of Roshar was so interesting and was done in a really engaging way in my opinion, not textbook-y at all! It's a huge book but so great. Speaking of, I saw a rumor that the audiobook of Wind and Truth is over 62 hours long... so let's all prepare for the chunkiest of chunky books lol
My November is a little fuzzy. I'll be reading The Other Valley with you guys, and I might pick up the second Dungeon Crawler Carl. I've been going really fantasy heavy for a while, do I might have to see what sci-fi I can snag from the library.
Great video, love you two. Heya, i find that reading the SA series along with Audible an awesome experience The audio is wonderful! I'm ordering The Valley, your description is so intriguing! Thank you!😊
I’m starting Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne so that might bleed into November. Other than that, I’ll be reading It by Stephen King and hopefully All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr before Wind and Truth comes out early December!
yeah.... think I'm gonna start The Other Valley right now 😂 I also have plans to read Empire of Silence in November too! for some reason it feels like a good November read for me. also I find it so hilarious how Jakob keeps wanting to see RoW on your tbr when he's barely read any Sanderson himself (I'm there too, unfortunately)
Empire of Silence will be a great November read! So thrilled you be joining us for Other Valley! Jakob just likes to crack the whip and keep me on schedule😂
I have two book club books, A Great Reckoning by Louise Penny and Jane Eyre by Bronte. Then going to move to series I'm in the middle of - Black Company book 10 (reread), Dungeon Crawler Carl book 6, Grail Quest book 2. That is probably half of my TBR for November but a nice mix of reads I'm excited about!
My November TBR is The Bone Clocks, Slade House, Klara and the Sun, and whatever Mr Pooh deems right and good. The only reason The Other Valley isn't in my November TBR is because I started it this morning, and fully expect to be finished with it by tomorrow, if not tonight. It is that freaking good.
Ryan Cahill also released a short story called The Blood That Burns the Winter Snow, which is an excellent little story so don't forget that!! It is a whopping 28 pages though so clear your schedule sir
My goals are small as I'm still getting back into reading, but my November TBR is about 80% of the Bleach manga, the Tolkien translation of Beowulf, A Hero of France by Alan Furst, and likely a Clive Cussler book (my son is 8 and knows he's in over his head but I'm here to help). If I get through all that, I might jump into The Way of Kings.
Look, John, if I can manage to re-read books 2,3 & 4 + the novellas of Stormlight, then you can manage to knock out this TBR! Also, RoW might be the least beloved Stormlight book, but it is still head and shoulders above 99% of most other fantasy books so there's that lol. And consider me in for The Other Valley, that premise sounds AMAZING! Happy reading, friend 🥰
November for me is mostly for reading all the new books I bought in september. I've read 95% or mor of my entire bookshelf and my OCD wants to keep it that way 😆 So first of I'm gonna start with Brando Sando (The sunlit man) then Im going into some nice sci-fi-fantasy-necromancy with Nona the ninth (book 3 of the Locked tomb by Tamsyn Muir). After that is the BIG reread of Stormlight Archive...unless there is something else hijacking my TBR (which is possible.)
@@Talking_Story Indeed, Im kinda scared and excited at the same time! Well it's only possible thanks to limited space for books, otherwise I would probably have lost that lead on read vs unread 😅

I struggled with Oathbringer after the conclusion of part 3 until the start of part 5 as things really slowed down. Rhythm of War is better paced imo, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it! I enjoyed it so much. It's right behind Words of Radiance for me as the best of the four that are currently out. Best of luck flipping through all the pages on your plate for this month!
Such a funny episode guys! Very exciting tbr for your November. Mine will just consist of reading LotR as much as I can. About halfway through Fellowship right now. Also, I might have to add The Other Valley to my tbr list. I picked up a copy of Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mendel based on the Mrs.'s recommendation and while I haven't read it yet I hope to get to it soon!

I'm also giving my best shot in finishing Moon Witch Spider King and The Wizard Knight, and I also hope to finally get started with the Luther Strode comics. It sounds like you're gonna be busy as well! Keep up the good work uncle!

@@Broon88 I am planning to get back to Van de Meer. I would opt for the Other Valley just my 2 cents
@@Talking_Story The Other Valley looks a great read for sure and means that I can enjoy the discussion video too!
@@Broon88 yes would love to have u on board. Hop on the discord for the discussion and maybe add some questions for when we talk to the author!
There are worse things your Mrs could've chased you down the hall with 😂
I'm waiting to me which way the cookie crumbles with Wind & Truth before I restart the series since based on what I've heard from people with similar taste to me the stuff I'm already not wild about in the series Sanderson seems to be doubling down on i.e. humour, detailed explanations on magic etc.
As for whatI'll be reading... I've 0 idea. Could finish off Memory Sorrow & Thorn or Realm of the Elderlings or return again for more Earthsea and Second Apocalypse... or ride thay standalone wave I'm on right now. Dunno. Don't really care tbh 😅
@@thatsci-firogue go where the wind and mood takes you my friend. With that list I see no way you can go wrong.
@@Talking_Story I just go with flow and see where the current takes me, don't want my reading any other way. But seriously, Cosmere Catchup means you're one step closer to Second Apocalypse, Malazan etc.
@@thatsci-firogue indeed!
....but...are you going to buddy read that?....😂🤪
@@lorifrederick2367 I think Chris from unlimited reads is with me
Not gonna lie not a big Sanderson fan. I’ve tried reading his books and I just can’t get into them
Totally get it. Art speaks to us all so differently and the difference will always be celebrated by me!
