It's super hot in Cali now too. Thanks for the tips on keeping chickens cool in the summer. I always enjoy and learn a lot from your vids. I enjoy your great sense of humor too lol. Keep up the good work.
I got a chicken cam inside the coop, and they look hot at night, like panting and opening their wings. It's pretty shaded, and has 3 windows and vents on corrugated roof. It's mid-80s here on the high, I wonder if I should add a vent maybe with a fan across one of the windows. And just bolt a panel onto it for the colder time.
@@pretendfarm Same, they just really don't get kiddie pools etc. I just followed the chicken chick's advice to dunk your chicken up to the neck in a bucket of cool water in order to wet the feathers because they can't sweat. It worked for a few of them, my lavender orpingtons were less panty, and my roos also, who are all docile with people, but they all protested to some degree or another. I ended up injuring a hen's leg when she tried to fly up wildly and suddenly. So lesson learned. Do everything very carefully.
Bucky 🐓🥰 get that drinky-drink on 🥰🐔🥰
Very cute video
Lol, love the hillbilly midriff in the beginning! All important points for sure. Thanks for sharing!
☺️ Thanks
Great tips. We’re in a horrible heat spell here in NJ. Thanks for the video. Stay cool.
I think almost everyone is in a horrible heat spell right now. I hate it!
I needed an excuse to buy a machete! Thank you! 😂
You can use them for everything! You’ll wonder how you ever managed without one 😂
Lol! I’m sure Jason Voorhees has a few he can give you. 🤣😂🤣

We have Ayam Cemani chickens at home, so i guess they get even hotter in the sun
Great info. Thanks for your videos.
Thanks for watching! Stay cool! 😎
I spray the ground with water. They like to dig and scratch in the damp soil and grass.
That would be like a sauna right now in the sun. I bet in a nice shady spot would be key!

It certainly couldn’t hurt!
How about a small kiddie pool! They could really cool off.😊
They don’t like water that much 😳
