What I love about this is how it feels like you're really taking a journey - both yourself, and taking the listener on a journey - through very gradiated landscapes. Well I used to think I knew what I was doing with FM synthesis. After ten years l had to admit to myself that I didn't, so - props 🥂 I still have a pair of Yamaha FS1R rack units with a custom built editor that displays every single parameter for every single voice, runs to 7 pages when displayed on a tablet but could be displayed on 1 large screen. FM for non percussive sounds eg pads (complex, evolving multitimbral, including sequencable formant synthesis and syncable LFO's). I seem to remember they were excellent for emulating the sonic properties of glass and metal. If used sensitively they could counterpoint the analog sounds you very nicely craft already. I think I should offer to "donate them to your cause" whatever that is... I assume you want people dancing😃

I've been tweaking a single patch for a week or so now, just trying out little things to see if I can use tricks live. Today I've mainly been distorting the hell out of the mother-32 (again with the Saich), via the WMD stereo compressor. It's got some potential, but I think it needs a low pass filter after the compressor just to remove some of the top end. Sadly, I'm all out of filters, so I may need to go dig one out and add to the rig (luckily I still have a little bit of space). The only downside I find to the Saich is that it has so much fuzzy mids, that it makes it quite hard to tune the rig by ear when it's running. Turns out that gets even worse when you distort the signal! Hopefully with enough practice, that side will get easier.... love ya ! xxxtentacion isnt dead he is in cuba with 2pac n juice n peep n biggie snallz get a club or die trying

I don't know if it's possible in the euro rack world, but a neat little trick I use in the studio when I'm trying to tame out of control top end on distorted synth patches is using a de-esser. It really is a bit of a magic wand for me (when set right) for fixing the exact issue you are having (as the sizzly overbearing top end of a distorted synth patch has a lot in common with sibilance and will trigger a de-esser set to the really harsh range with great results), and it sounds SO much better than other possible fixes as it leaves in the fuzz, but tames it and you end up with this super buttery smooth top end, that's still retained all of it's grit underneath the shiny surface and the rest of the sound can be left a bit more lively and you can get away with less overall compression effecting other parts of the sound. I know you can get 500 series de-essers, so you might be able to get something that fits your rack, idk about the connections though but it's for sure worth looking into I recon, as it'll be the perfect fix for that issue going forward.
@@hdnenwkc I felt the same way about the person I found out about it from. 😉✌️ You get best result with a de-esser you can adjust the bandwidth at which it's active.
