  • Dialing in my new 2025 KTM 350XCF with the Connectivity Unit Offroad. For this woods loop I am dialed back the power and throttle response using the Gravel/Wet base power map. In the Advance settings option I minimize throttle response, minimize engine braking, and maximize Traction Control. This combination really smoothes out the initial throttle response making the 350XCF easier to ride on tight trails. Minimizing engine braking frees up the chassis and gives the bike a "lighter" feel in motion. Next time I am at a MX track I will use the CUO to turn up the throttle response and use the Sand/Dry base map for a little more power feel. The CUO offers the option to change the engine power and character.
Here is a video with more details about how I used the CUO to tune my 2025 KTM 350XCF... • KTM Connectivity Unit ...
My first ride impression and other thoughts on the new 2025 350XCF:
    • 2025 KTM 350XCF First ...
350's are such a great combination of Power/Weight/Handling and this latest 350 engine in the updated 2025 KTM chassis with new WP spring forks does not disappoint! The latest KTM 350 engine has stronger low to mid power compared to the previous generation 350 engine and still pulls forever on top and both of the stock EFI maps (White or Greeen) run clean and crisp. The complete Akrapovic exhaust system on the '25 350XCF is quieter, lighter, pulls strong, and has a spark arrester too. The updated WP spring forks are impressive! The rear of the bike has more comfort too with the updated frame along with linkage and shock changes. This could be the first Austrian bike I ride with the stock suspension.

Wally @ Wheelsports is the best 🚀 more traction-control = fewer wheelies 🎯 Outstanding video 🏆

This is exactly what I was hoping the CUO would do! I was having trouble in the slow tight stuff with that aggressive throttle response even in the white map. Your suggestion definitely helped (gray throttle cam and traction control) but I'm guessing this is a whole different level of adjustment. With any luck, I can install the CUO tonight as I'm hoping to ride tomorrow. We had a bunch of rain here in Austin and the places I ride shut down real quick if it's too wet out.

Yes use the Gravel/Wet as the base power map and dial back Throttle Response to #1 (minimum) and turn Traction Control up to #5 (maximum) and enjoy smooth initial throttle response! And if it is too much put some Throttle Response back in. Fun to try different settings

Soonish you can have more maps people had some fun with it so will probably do a ECU with both or maybe even more.

Any chance you can elaborate on if this new CUO has any impact on flame outs? I have a ‘24 FX 350 and sometimes the smallest use of the rear brake can cause an easy flame out. I’m debating fly wheel weight or this new CUO. Thanks

I don't think the CUO has much if any effect on flame outs based on my experience so far. I've not stalled the bike on the woods loops so far but have also not ridden an super tight technical trails yet. I will make a video soon of slow technical riding with the dialed back "250F" map and the stock Green map. Flywheel weight should help on your 24 FX350.

I’m deeply researching my next bike purchase, I’m on the fence between new yz250fx (waiting for 2025 model), yz450fx, 250xcf and this bike. I am 5’9” and 180-185 lbs. Ride some moto and southern Ohio single track. Intermediate rider and I will not be racing. I have been riding a friends Sherco SE300 in the woods but I want a more well rounded bike. I really like lugging a bike in the low RPMs in the woods and I worry the 250s will leave me wanting more torque but I have never in my life rode a 4 stroke of any kind so I don’t know what they feel like. Love your videos and I value your opinion on the subject.

I feel like we are very similar (I may be older as I'm in my early 50's) but I bought a 2023 SX-F 350 and had never ridden a 4 stroke prior. I grew up on 2 strokes and so that's all I knew. These are very different IMO. The torque is incredible! It's the engine braking that has been SO hard for me to get used to. I HATE it!!! LOL Now (THANKFULLY) with the CUO unit as demonstrated here, it can be dialed back. I'm pushing 5'8" and I can tell you these bikes are crazy tall. Had to lower mine 1" and put a Guts -20mm foam on and I still struggle with footing. With that said, as you, I'm an intermediate rider who rides mostly motto track, but I also love woods riding similar to this video. Since purchasing my bike, I have ridden a 250 and a 450 and I can tell you that there's a pretty big difference in power and how you'd ride the bike. (think high revving a 250 versus lugging a 450). Haven't ridden either hard/aggressive but MANY say the 450 is tough to ride for long periods of time and to me the 250 felt so much lighter (much less inertia from the engine). That's why I settled on the 350 and I couldn't recommend it enough. Feels lighter than a 450, I certainly don't need more power (heck, I'm trying to tame this beast with the new CUO as he does in this video). Also, considering I ride both track and woods, if I had to do it over, I may get this bike (The XC-F 350) as opposed to the full on moto SX-F. Of course, the SX-F is beyond amazing on a track, I think the gearing and 6 speed transmission of the XC-F along with 18" tire and softer suspension does both better. Not sure you can go wrong with this 2025 XC-F 350!

Thanks for the real world 350 experience Brutus!
The latest YZ450FX is Beast with a super fun engine with very good but firm KYB suspension and a tall seat height (though 10mm lower than the YZ450F). If you like lugging the 250F's may not have the low to mid torque you desire. The 350 has plenty of low to mid torque (I dial it back for woods riding) and less inertia than a 450 so feels lighter though not as lightweight feeling as a 250F. I like 300 2-strokes from Austria with TBI and the Beta 300 Race Edition - those bikes have lots of linear torque and are light and agile in the woods. I think these recent KTM/Husky/Gas Gas 350 cross country engines run strong and are fun in the woods or on the moto track. The woods 350 versions (350XCFW/FE350) have less compression and less power and are more stall resistant and run more smoothly at low RPM. 350's are such a great combination of Power/Weight/Handling. There is no wrong choice - just decide what characteristics are most important to you and ride that bike!
