The Home Army 5th Wilno Brigade (also known as the Brigade of Death) was a unit of the Polish anti-Nazi resistance organization Home Army, active in the Vilnius Region during World War II. The main commander of the brigade was major Zygmunt Szendzielarz, nom de guerre "Łupaszka".
During the German occupation of Poland the brigade found itself in particularly difficult circumstances as it faced off against three different foes; the German Nazis, Lithuanian units which were collaborating with them, as well as Soviet partisans who generally fought against Home Army units in the region, especially after 1943. In July 1944, the brigade numbered around 500 partisans.
Lyircs:
Gdy ziemia ojczysta skąpana we łzach
o pomstę krew woła męczeńska.
Kto walczy o wolność i mści się za krew
to Piąta Brygada Wileńska.
A szlakiem zuchwałym prowadzi ją wódz,
„Łupaszka” - bohater nieznany.
Z nim tylko umierać i walczyć by móc
z niewoli kraj wyrwać kochany.
Wiernie iść będziemy twoim śladem,
Bo ty jesteś z nami, z tobą Bóg.
Śmiało trwać będziemy pod kul gradem,
aż wolności zagrzmi złoty róg.
Przez szturmy zuchwałe i walki od lat
dla wroga on stał się zagładą.
I płynie pieśń wolna i dumna we świat
za Piątą Wileńską Brygadą.
Dziś naszym udziałem jest walka i znój
Przyszłości los czeka nieznany.
Za Polskę kochaną prowadzi nas w bój
„Łupaszka” nasz wódz ukochany.

Good song about brave fighters. Are you Polish? If so, what are your thoughts on The Intermarrium idea?
I was born in Sweden, but I am part Polish myself, so yes.
As for the Intermarium, I do like the idea of all of Eastern Europe and some in Central Europe being united against our common enemy Russia, but I’d prefer it if it was a military alliance and not a federation of nations.
@@Nordbon1523 Okay cool. Thanks. Peace ✌🏻
Why you wrote Vilnus,despite Vilno?
Wilno is what the city is called in Polish, in English it’s called Vilnius, it works either way. I made the video in a hurry, I’ll fix it soon.
@@Nordbon1523 but, Vilnius is Lituanian name of city, and before it became Lituanian, the correct name is Wilno,no?
And when I wrote "Vilno" with V,I thought it was in English in 30,40-ies
@@Domadimin yes you’re right.
