I’m sure it would only be adding expense but electric wheelchairs can set speed levels. They use a VFD. It would be nice if you could adjust forward speed level and reverse speed level.
Retired HVAC guy. This is what I have needed for many years. Perfect for moving the outdoor units out and in. I used to work lake houses, had to use atv and small trailer on the steep slopes.
Not yet retired HVAC guy here, I use the Harbor Freight hay bale dolly. Huge 16" flotation tires, 24" wide lip with a 16" extension in front. I'm the envy of the delivery guys ;) Even 5 ton package units roll through gravel and soft sod with no issues.
I'm a small general contractor and am putting an order in for the Ox. This thing is amazing! I could fabricate a plywood/lumber rack and move 15+ sheets with ease. Not to mention rolls of roofing, windows and doors, water heaters, deck boards, the list goes on. Wow!
We have actually been working on a concept for a rack system (and other attachments) to carry lumber and other items. Hope to have it available in 2023
They're wrong about lithium ion batteries, first of all they'll have up to 4 times the range of an AGM lead acid battery also they can work in colder weather environments than an AGM lead acid battery
Love it! Need to get this in every tool rental in the midwest. This combines several tools in one for small jobs and DIYs Great demo and asked all the right questions SDM!
I spent a year working in a parks department and I wish we would have had one of those! A very well thought out piece of equipment! I can think of so many places we couldn’t get a backhoe into where these would have fit just fine. Well done gentlemen, Well done!
Way better than any other power assisted wheelbarrow out there. This would have saved me from wrecking my body all these years. Thanks for sharing Dirt Monkey.
I now have a new life goal to buy this thing. This is awesome. You can build a side business helping other companies simply by having the tool available. I love it.
This machine is great for companies with aging employees. Companies are hiring older employees because of there work ethic. Machines like this will help older employees get the job done safety and with less effort. 😎
I have an electric wheelbarrow and it really helps move stuff around my 5 acre property. Moving dirt gravel, cement etc. any distance with a manual wheelbarrow is exhausting and the electric really makes it easier. I don't have a tractor but am getting by without one. Also used it to stretch wire fencing.
Looks great. The only thing I can think of is a high / low speed switch for better low speed maneuverability, especially for inexperienced users. Well done!
12k is a year's take-home. And the only way I've been able to do that work was by exceeding my back's design limitations. These would save a lifetime of pain.
@@martinscluff They are asking $12,149 for one of the Ox Standard units. No wheelbarrow is worth that much. And it has to be transported on it's own dedicated, empty trailer, unlike how you can throw a bunch of wheelbarrows on your trailer whether it's empty or full of debris and tools. I can't see this thing holding a candle to 4 guys with wheelbarrows for moving, well, anything. These guys have totally wasted their money and time inventing something that seems cool, but in reality is so impractical, and so expensive, that almost no one will buy one, and NO ONE will buy a second one after realizing what a PITA drag on production the first one is.
I think everything has its place, otherwise it wont be for very long. I don’t want to be the early adopter on this one but I would hope that it would perform well. We are looking for something just like this if it works. My skid steer doubles as a wheelbarrow sometimes. It is rather expensive and requires its own trailer as well. If this thing works in sandy conditions, on a slope, and relatively reliable then it is worth something to some people. It isn’t a new idea. If I understood correctly then they said that under full load it had a one hour run time. Fwiw.
@@seanwilliams480 after you get through paying those four guys, if they bother to show up it might not be as bad an idea as you think. I have a Toro Dingo and I can out work a crew of four like it's nothing. No arguing , no cigarette breaks , no lame excuses or food and drink getting spilled in my truck.
They need a jump cable that the two batteries could be backups if the other dies. I liked the bucket having angled corners, not curved. Scraping concrete from rounded corners can be a pain. Curious about holding mixed concrete capacity for each model. I can see a plow blade attachment for the front, with or without the bucket. Pushing gravel, sand, snow, and dirt to smooth out what it just dumped. Not quite seeming a bucket loader tho.. But definitely a plow. Add a tow hook and a buggy chair. Or a rear foot rest and seat attached to the frame. Horn and headlights.. B-) And one caution to users is... When bucket is full, no high speed cornering. The center of gravity seems pretty high. BUT If I were in a business that this could work, IN A HEARTBEAT. (Like ALL the home improvement and gardening stores. Paving and road construction...)
Them are very nice and very well priced and I believe them are manufactured in the USA it’s not way over priced and it’s a product that you can get your investment back in full and a timely manner.
Slap a magnetic flasher on it or some lights for that early morning work. Looks like pneumatic tires, any options for solid tires? Never got a solid run time on the thing, but they said 3 miles and it runs about 3 miles an hour. 150 yard runs means 300 per trip. Thats 53 round trips loaded, they never gave the unloaded distance or the max battery size. Visibility over the barrow looks good. They mentioned regen brakes, unless they have an electric load those probably wont work, meaning that if a battery isn't installed, it could roll away. A horn button for powered equipment is usually a good idea. Any options for bigger tires on wet, muddy ground that's just had sod layed? Might be nice to have some optional forks for carrying mats. Front mount hitch for moving around trailers or tugging other stuff around.
It's a very nice little unit. You should use a two-stage trigger for Speed. I can see the fast being a little bit too fast in certain instances. Have you ever considered trying to lower the price by using a cable winch instead of hydraulics. Just an idea it's a little on a high-end price. Keep up the good work.
🤔so.. You mean the track-spool method? If you want to be energy efficient_the track-spool winch is a wind motor that uses more energy than hydraulic injection

I appreciate you asked for a run TIME multiple times, but both times they gave you a distance of “it will go 3 miles…” They also said it goes about 3mph. So there ya go, you get about an hour of RUN time, at full load, full speed.
I think they missed a key advantage when promoting their product. I could definitely see how a landscaper could use this versus a skid steer to avoid damaging lawns. Just my opinion🤷🏻♂

Good looking bit of kit. Would be great available in the UK. One thing I can see from this video, is that it could do with a low and high speed switch to moderate the ground speed depending on the load. Super review though.
I replaced stairs and sidewalks for apartment complexes so densely landscaped that all the old and fresh concrete was wheelbarrowed in. These Oxes would have been perfect for that if they made them 30 years ago.
