    I’m going through this exact issue as well speak. Very low voltage at the fuel pump. And as you stated, no buzz of the fuel pump priming. I did notice this paper you showed when it fell out of the relay area and didn’t think anything of it.

    Inherited an '01 A8L & a '17 A8L; the '01 we did the valve cover gaskets (they were weeping pretty bad), the timing belt kit, water pump (factory only, aftermarket go bad in short order), t-stat, alternator, all pulleys, tensioners, popped in a new radiator (Nissen), belts, fuel pump, new progressive-rate coil springs (German, TUV-certification, 30MM drop), Bilstein struts, poly sway bar bushings, replaced the "Banana" rear muffler with Magnaflow 11378, and a pair of double-wall stainless-steel tips in the factory spot- it is not obnoxious or very loud. It still rides fantastic, handles a bit better

      For about 3 minutes. Lol. I just bought the car about a year ago for 500$ and ran until just recently. Bit it's.just me and 3 kids in a tiny town where I'm pretty much ostrisized so I have been looking for videos to show me about this car and there are very few. I guessed where the fuel pump relay was... (Petrol sticker helped) you verified and the trick with the paper is genius. So my fuel pump comes on. My filter isn't clogged I guess it's the injectors next... It did have a bad fuel pump fuse which I assumed was gonna fix it but to no avail. I am going to replace.the relay for sure though because it seems erratic.. I
      TMI I'm sure but if you have any more pointers I could sure use any help. Thank you again .

      I don't think you need to fiddle with the injectors, if the car ran for a few minutes the injectors should be ok. You may want to check connection/plug at the fuel pump, if the pump runs and sounds strong then you might have to have the fuel pressure tested to see that it is adequate.

    Hey buddy is that relay looked in the same place for the 2004 a8?

      I won't lie to you, I can not say for sure. 2004 is the D3 model which is the next generation than this one in the video. However I would think that all this is still the same in the next generation. It is pretty simple to access.

    I just had an oil leak job done inside the intake manifold on a 2007 A8 4.2, however car only cranks but not start after the job, I am being told that it is the high fuel pressure pumps that went bad. Car had not issues of this nature before the aforementioned job, is it possible this can happen? An OBD II isn’t showing a fault code related to this claim. Thanks for your help in advance

      I don't know much about the 4.2 fsi. I would need to start testing the system for proper pressure and voltage or signal. With the obtained results a diagnosis may be achieved.

    What codes are you getting

    • @rockcreekcreamery
      @rockcreekcreamery  2 роки тому

      It was not diagnosed with codes. I could tell as soon as the key was turned on, the fuel pump did not start to buzz and pressure the system.
