Andy! You are a life saver. How I wish you were here to see the relief your video brought into my life. My 2005 Audi A4 1.8T B6 model cranks but fails to start. I called in the mechanic who worsened my plight by making me change my coils and spark plugs. The car still failed to start. He then made me change my fuel pump. I also got my key re-programmed and all these did not make the car to start. Finally, they asked me to purchase a new ECU and it was at this point I couldn't take it anymore. Out of frustration, I searched for solution on UA-cam and I chanced upon your video miraculously. Immediately, I tried your relay trick and Hooooolaaaaalaaaaaaa........My Audi is on fire✔✔✔✔. I turned the ignition on and off countless times and the car performed beyond expectations. You are a life saver Andy. Am very much grateful. U have saved me from wasting more money. I Will purchase a new relay tomorrow. Thank you so much and may God richly bless you.❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍
Hi man, it's been 3 years from this video and stil very helpful. I've been searching for a long time. And I'm excited to try if it works. Thanks so much.
Dude u helped me out!!! For the longest time I was swapping ecus and then when I watched ur vid closely, I seen that u had a 5 prong relay and mine was a 4 pin someone put the wrong one in my car no wonder the ECU had no power
I am currently having the same issue myself. I just replaced mine but still no luck. Still haven't gotten a new battery yet so that could be my issue but thank you for letting me know that was the correct relay to replace mine was just like yours.
Thank you bro, I have been looking at different videos on youtube for two year.hoping someone would point me in the right direction. And today you earn a new subscriber. I had that exact problem . try everything but this work the first try👍😅
Not sure man. Don’t have a lot of experience with diesels but my guess would be the same spot, different relay slot. Companies usually tend to build cars very similar.
Is it the same Audi? If so there’s only 3 or 4 things it could be the relay, the coil pack, plugs or wiring issue.. plugs wouldn’t cause it not to start all of a sudden it would be a misfire while running, coil packs maybe one or two being bad could make it not start but again highly unlikely more than one or two will go bad at a time so the car will usually start and run just misfire or it’ll sound like it really is about to start but just won’t go the last mile.. and on these Audis this relay sits in the compartment and oxidizes and then the car can’t start because the system isn’t getting power. Or if a wire got cut or nicked and is shorting out the plugs and coil packs wouldn’t get power so no spark.. it’s a fairly simple system in these cars. Hopefully that helps if not let me know what you’ve done to fix it so far and maybe we’ll figure out what’s up with it..
Hi, thanks for useful videos. l have a question While I was driving my Audi A4 2001 has lost elecric power that means no power at all. alternator is ok and the battery has enough power. what could be the issue.-'' Thanks
Not 100% sure what you mean. You were driving down the road and the car just shut off and never turned on again? Or it was a flick thing where it lost power real quick and car was good after..?
I have a allroad 2.7 and it won't start up in the morning for like 20 minutes of trying to start. Sometimes I have to jump the battery for it to start. But once it starts it will start for the rest of the day until the next morning and won't start again.
It’s a cold start issue. So off hand idk the exact setup but I would look for the egr valve and or a idle air control bc it seems like when it’s cold the cars cold start or “choke” isn’t working and you crank it for so long it partially warms and frees up whatever isn’t working or moving. My Subarus egr gets dirty easy and it’ll start having similar issues and I’ll take it out clean it and it’ll run perfect. I will do some research on this exact car later today and I will get back to you..
How’s it going , just swapped the clutch on my Audi a4 b6 1.8 , battery needed to get jumped constantly after repeatedly stalling attempting to get on the lift so I replaced the battery song with a new clutch pack. Everything installed perfectly. Immediately after the swap the car started very easily. After turning it off and buttoning the rest of the car up it wouldn’t even crank. Now I’m bump starting my car just to get to work tomorrow any help ?
I have an Audi A6 3.2 car model 2007. If you accelerate the start-up from the first start at a speed of 140 km, and if the speed drops below 60 km, do not start again, the engine has reduced its torque. Please reply and diagnose, I am in a state of confusion I changed half of the car parts and got tired, does that have a solution? Thank you
With any car always start with the cheapest and easiest parts. Also you must always do an elimination process such as, check spark at the plug, check fuel at the injector and go backwards…ie- no spark at plug, pull plug check spark at coil, no spark check wire or connections, good.. go to the relay if you haven’t yet. But honestly I check relays and fuses first .
Hi Andy please advice , my car is doing something am failing to understand, after i sort that problem i park it after a drive we had, then after 3 hours the horn alarm is beeping. Then i went to check it i use my car key to switch off the alarm as usual but i discover that the power on the battery is too low in a way that the remote cannot respond. I try to start the but its click as a car with low battery i jump start it ,it started what could be the reason the battery is loosing power while parked with everything off. Is it a sign of bad battery or any advice. Thank you, Ronald from South africa ( durban)
Something is draining power. Is there anything wired in the car not from the factory.? If not, something is staying on and it could be a bad relay. Try and figure out what’s not turning off when the car is off
Hi Andy ,on my last question i might have found some information that could be a little light on my worry. Yesterday i drove to one of my brothers while the car was parked 10 minute after i arrive the fan start itself and switch itself 3 times . Then i realize that was the cause of my battery getting drained while parked. Its could be that after that heavy rain we had here in South Africa the water went somewhere in the wrong sensor or something that triggers the fan. Thank you
I’m having an issue on my Audi A4 2008 B8, where it would crank but not start up, I checked the spark plugs and it was covered in fuel and not sparking
I am now suspicious of this as a stamp. Does it have anything to do with torque and speed? The part number I have is 614, number 2 on the right and on the left in the same box.
Hello. I have a problem with my Audi a4 b7 1.6 petrol. Sometimes the car starts and sometimes it doesn't, either hot or cold. Without any logical reason, it won't work and then it works and everything is ok. advice please. Thanks a lot in advance.
I changed the crank sensor, but the same problem, as if I didn't do anything other than that in the morning I got tired of running the sound of bombs getting rid of the exhaust
My audi is cranking but it won't start. No check engine light, it usually takes me a few tries to start it, but this time it hasn't started at all. Half tank of gas, tried jumping it, I have no idea what to do
Honestly it’s pretty hard to diagnose without hearing the car but I can give you direction on what to check.. do you know how to check for spark? And check if it’s getting fuel? It could be a hundred different things but process of elimination is how I always figure out what’s wrong.it sounds like a fueling issue if it takes a few times to start.. have you ran the car down to empty recently? Or do you let it get to complete empty before putting gas in it?
Well it ended up being exactly what you had to do. I replaced the crank shaft sensor, still didn't start. So then went to check the relays and yeah. It was barely hanging on and all corroded. So I cleaned it, put it back in and the damn thing started.
It's been a week since I fixed it, it still hesitates to start but it usually does start after a few times. I think I just need to buy a new relay, but I read online that the 614 relay is being replaced by a 644 because of it being faulty. I don't know much about cars, but I've read everything I could about this car. Down the line it's going to have costly repairs, so I might just sell it.
@@veronicab208 sometimes that’s the best bet if you don’t or can’t do all the work. But ever single one of these I’ve worked on had a rusty dirty relay.. happy to help though:)

I have had the same issue with a Subaru. Find the master ecu fuse I had to go to the dealer because they were the only ones who knew but just do some research on your specific car and I bet you fried the master fuse. It was under my center console. That’s a Subaru tho.
You must see also if the coil is burned or heated this will indecated the realy the ignation time is to long so the coil is heated and some times it will by weak magnatic force
You can buy it at any part store or even offline at a reputable part dealer or even a part recycling place. If you can take the relay out so you can bring it with you that way they can match it with the numbers on the part.
Hey what possible code will throw it if this relay is bad ? My car is 1.8T now I would like to check it out the relay too on my 19 years old poor daily Thanks:)
Not sure of what code will come up, sometimes with things like a relay it might not even throw a code. It’s fairly easy to check so maybe just try to take the relay out and check it sometimes you can’t see the corrosion until you actually remove and inspect it.
What year? This relay issue is mainly with older cars that have had that relay in them for 1015 years and it just corroded overtime but people never check them so it’s a newer car it’s probably not this issue specifically could be similar could be a relay but it’s hard to say not knowing the year
