Sound on! I have taken a new spy video of the next generation G99 BMW M5 Touring during some hot laps on the Nürburgring. The new Plug-in-Hybrid prototype has done a couple of laps and is expected to be launched later this year.

i don't understand why people are so concerned with the weight. it's supposed to be a fast cruiser, used to rival the audi RS6, not a track weapon
The Audi RS6 has always been a fast cruiser, but the M5 used to be a 4 door-sportscar for sportscar-drivers with children.
@@ERTZZTRE both are in the same league. Both will be touring/avant so.. It's not a race car. Just performance wagon. And we love it for that.
No, the M5 is supposed to be a car equally comfortable on the track as it is on the road.. BMWs have always been about precise handling, especially M cars.

A F90 M5 is 1900-1950kg and it handles great for that. Im very sure this will also handle great.
For a car that weighs close to the Atlantic ocean, it looks like it handles well.
Fuck the EU for crippling these cars with a heavy hybrid system.

M5 Touring ca 50-80kg schwerer. Macht 2560-2590kg nach EG.
Nach DIN jeweils 75kg weniger.

It looks like it's having a ton of trouble dealing with the weight in corners. I don't have any issue with weight if it's managed, but this thing looks like it's rolling over onto the sidewall from all the body lean. The F series M5 looked much more controlled.
