Good lord the 2CV bamboo ... I brought my new in 1987 and the colour and the name bamboo was all about Greenpeace at the time and the world wildlife fund hence the bamboo name and colour. I haven’t seen one for years on the road so I’m delighted to say One is still about

if you are using it much do me a favour and open the bonnet...take the heater tubes off. the most common reason for the destruction of a 2CV is by fire, the tubes drop down onto the exhaust crossbox. when you sell it put them back and just use cable ties to hold them in place.
I’ve actually bought some generic heater tubing that I was going try to replace that lot with, but will certainly remove the old ones, even if it doesn’t fit. Thanks again 👍🏻
Thank you. We did mention that on-screen, but didn't have a clue at the time. I'm told they're actually quite important in winter, too. Would you agree?
@@UKBarnFinds air cooled mush....if you want to be slightly warmer in winter keep it on. lol. earlier 2cv had fabric muffs which hooked on. there have been several designs depending on the grill used.
You must have been quite a fan, back in the day! Funnily enough, I’ve spotted two Bamboo editions for sale this week; another at Anglia Car Auctions and one on eBay. Common as muck, since we bought one 😂

My first thoughts was . . Gosh havnt they got rid of thd auction number yet . . Lol . . Next words outa ya mouth . . Remove auction number . . . Having buffed and polished many cars for a living . . . One tip . . The longer the stroke the better. . A bit like using a sythe . . Sort of arm length passes . . . . And 1 more tip . . Dont stay on the edges to much as the paint isnt as thick there so ya can burn thru very easily . . Using a sheep skin one you can turn the buff on its edge and will get into tricky spots . . On the whole tho a good job . . Well done . . . Its come up lovely . . Hi from . NZ 🇳🇿🇳🇿
Thanks for that, much appreciated. I want to have a go on a car soon, as I dodged this one, and Mike did mention quite often about watching the edges, so I’ll definitely take that on board. I’ll pick something nice and flat to start with….one that’s fairly disposable 😂 - Elton
@@UKBarnFinds all good mate . . . When i was in ozz i worked for a new car dealer and did the paint seals ,rust proofing and fabric protections on new Holdens . . Ya learn a lot . . Geting rid of rain spots is tricky too . . Ya realy need a burnishing cream and do it all by hand . . . Black and dark colours are the worse to do . . Try and keep the cars as cool as you can . . So they dont dry to much while ya working . . . 🇳🇿🇳🇿

Funnily enough, Anglia Car Auctions have another one for sale in their November auction. Bit better shape than ours, too.
To get rid of the swirls you need to use Farecla G10 compound with the soft sponge head after the G3.
After the G10 then do the hand polish and wax

Thanks. Must admit, we were pleasantly surprised, even though Mike did tell us he was fairly confident it would come up okay.

Well, that really looks a whole lot better, it's still horrible though haha.
Haha! Don't be mean to the green! 😂
Ahm the Green Goblin yet again, and of course, you, Elton...you are not quite green ;)
