I wonder how many people agree that she's the damn queen of metal and deserves all the respect that she gets
Respectfully, I have to question the first statement. In terms of longevity and incredible stage presence, absolutely, but I still don't think we've heard everything Heike Langhans is capable of. Very different artists, granted, and I doubt that Heike will be challenging any of the scream queens anytime soon but that VOICE - wow. I'm old and I still hold Angela Gossow as the benchmark when it comes to growled vocals but that ship has sailed (at least in front of the mic) and the kids seem to be flocking to 'core anyway - c'est la vie. I wish the current crop of female metal frontwomen every success - life on the road was hard enough without this effing pandemic.
No, Brittany Slayes (Unleash the Archers) or Tatiana Shmailyuk (Jinjer) are way more Queens of metal. Hell, even Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf is better. Maria has a weird ass voice and no where near as good as most female metal vocalist's.

Kids, as much as Maria Brink and her contemporaries rocks they are NOT the Queen of Metal, DORO PESCH is, also Lita Ford. Not to mention that the Modern Metal frontwomen honour the 2 Metal Godesses..
Not a chance. Compared to Alissa white gluz and Angela gossow from arch enemy she is nothing. The screams from those 2 in their songs like nemesis you wouldn’t believe that they are women. It’s only when I watched them do it live on yt I saw they were women and instantly knew they were the goddesses of metal.

@Derek Charette Couldn't agree with you more about Maria, she needs to showcase her voice and drop the theatrics. I don't really think this song was right for her range either so that didn't help. I love Ivan's voice! FFDP has always been solid in my book, I don't see what there's ever been to hate.👍

Love this song.. love this band .. I heard this song for the very first time while I was in treatment for opiate abuse. Sadly tho I wasn't ready just yet to get clean but... but that all changed in 2015 .. as of August 4th 2015 I've been clean and sober and today is March 9th 2020..! I made the decision this time on my own, no ultimatums, no you better do this or else, no nothing. It was the best decision I've ever made because for whatever reason this time it seems to be working when it never did before when I had family breathing down my neck or losing a girlfriend or job. Sometimes you have to make the decision to turn it around cuz no one is going to just hand it to you and believe me when I say this: No matter how bad it is you are not ready until you're all the way ready and you'll know when that time comes trust me. Remember that you are worth the fight and it will be a fight of epic proportions believe me. Just go all in if you're going to go because failure is never an option when your life is on the line. God bless and good day.
P. S. To those who read my comment just remember that if nobody has told you they loved you today I do and I've got your back cuz knuckleheads or not we have to stick together. #imsobertoday #odaat

I have played "Anywhere But Here" featuring Maria Brink hundreds of times on my phone. I play it many times per week still after several years. One of my all time favorite songs. Turned me on to In This Moment and now I have a bunch of their music as well.!
Fun fact, The Promise was supposed to ft Ivan Moody, the track was laid down all for Ivan for his style but he was unable to do it, go listen to The Promise and you can hear how it was supposed to be him. It would have been perfect with Ivan

I was at this concert. The venue sucked but FFDP and Maria did an awesome job! Maria sang her heart out earlier with her band and I'm sure was tired as hell. It did sound a bit better in person then this recording. Made for a good ending anyway. \m/

Holy shit the Moment in the end where Jason and Ivan hug and sing together made me so happy after what happened a few months ago. I really thought the two of them had a probolem with each other but I'm glad that it was """just""" Ivans problem with alcohol :)
