Loooooove the DM's throwback salute to the original Horseman (I caught that 😉). 14K ATE!!!!!! The PRIDE sounds AMAZING!!! Dance break was FIRE!!! Awesome job!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This was put together really nice BCU. Earth Wind & Fire- In The Stone Cameo -Candy Heat Wave- Groove Line Roll Royce and remake Mary J Blige- I'm Going Down, and the mix at the end. People let's support the HBCU schools because these kids go through a lot to entertain us. So..no matter what jerseys we wear, band suits or what HBCU college we attend. We're all family. -SU Fan
Oh wow, you can clearly see Mr. Wells on the sideline pointing and pissed off at the 4 players on the front row L-side of field, at 03:40. Other than that mishap, they did an amazing job. I’d really love to hear BCU play some technical pieces, other than marches. I’ve never heard them play any type of technical pieces.
Bcu trombone king Til the end of time Betcha by golly wow You're welcome. Difficulty isn't always in note arrangement. Listen to dynamic structures. Dynamics in this balad. No one can say SU phrases better than Cookman .
BCU has a very good sound: I would love to see them be more creative with the drilling. I think majority of all band's dance routines are lack luster or lame.
Being that BCU sees no other bands, barely travels, and have a lot of down time between games, I expect them to come extremely hard for every performance. It’s only right. Yet, time after time again we get borderline mediocrity. This show sounded good and that’s IT. No wow factor. Same music, dry arrangements bad song selections. They needs to lock in asap because who I once viewed as the heavyweight champs, I now don’t even see as top 5. The fact that a SWAC og band like SU can outdo them in a field show, tells me everything I need to know. It’s all love BCU, but something has to give.
It felt like I had a flash back to my time in the band cause literally everything was exactly the same as I remembered it. Sideline entrance, a quick 20 second opener, drum major entrance, In The Stone, small block, that moving diamond drill we probably done every season, back to small block, then the concert formation, back to small block, dance routine that is just a variation on the same bucket of moves season after season in the same format with 10-15s of playing, drum breaks, more 10s rifts, and the BCU and the end with drum break. I have moments where I come back to bcu’s videos for the nostalgia, but it’s kinda silly I’m seeing literally nothing has changed for decades. It was probably a good thing the 5th quarter ended early. Wells just might have had to unleashed Hovi on Southern! The band sounds phenomenal in person when I saw them last year. Trombones straight crushing just like how I remembered. They got the talent, no question. Wells, I think, is holding them back. Innovate!
The tuba section is smaller but still sounds great...I still do not understand using 4 flags in the drill why not march the alternates that sit in the stands..smh... BCU forever doing a diamond drill lol
The band is smaller due to school wide budget cuts. Nothing for them to "get together". To ensure the school's accreditation remains in tact after the last corrupt administration almost lost it, changes had to be made. They've also been even smaller than this the past couple of seasons so what are you even talking about. The band is just fine. 🤫🤫🤫
As a former marching Wildcat, this was not our best performance. Rank#1(Clarinets I think), did you all forget the moves going into concert formation? (That entire rank needs a deduction). My young lady on the Sophisticats.... You clearly went the wrong way while twirling (or did your flag get twisted up), but nevertheless, great recovery. Drum Majors, IDK if i was tripping but your directing on the dance girl feature seemed a tad off (it could have been me but it just seemed extremely fast). The BCU formation, what was going on with the B? We haven't put a dash on the field since I was in the band. Overall Imma give this show 7/10. This could have been executed so much better. Dance Committee Members, I need yall to do a dance routine without so many drum fills. That band is too good to still be relying on that many fills for a dance routine.
B.C.? Really stands for Boring College University at its finest! I give them a few moments on their music! What College I mean high school band runs unto the field, then runs back off, really!
I am very tired of attending Homecoming and other BCU games when the band does not play anything in the stands to entertain the fans an Alumni. Southern University blew Cookman away in Jacksonville. Sick of hearing "Go Wildcats" for 4 quarters of a game. The band director stood on a ladder until half time. Sit down like other band directors ! Alumni travel to games to see the band and love to hear them in the stands. It makes the game very exciting. Not at a 5th quarter when we are walking to get in our cars. Smh. Who wants to stay in the stadium after the game. Not sure if the coaches are telling them not to play. I don't know, but the band entertainment in the stand is boring. Now, Drum Majors, smh...all the slow nasty dancing while the band is in concert formation needs to STOP. It just doest look good any more. They have been doing this year after year. Its boring. It doest excite the fans. Just stand still and stop all that X rated clubs dancing . The last thing, the running off the field is for HIGH SCHOOLS not college. I have not seen another HBCU band run off. Just march. You are a marching band. That look so bad after a performance on the field. Please work on all the above before going to the Florida classic. 😢 just a little wise note to take with you

What part..... I need to go back and rewatch
They have a good group this year! I had to rewind a few times during the dance routine to see it again.
Yes.
Without a doubt.
They produce a consistent quality sound.😊
This was put together really nice BCU.

Instrumentation is great! Such balance!
Balance and precision is what I LOVE about this Band!
They sound great!
Nobody does it like the 14K dose it!,,👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰 Love those Flags too.
Great Job Band and Drum Majors
LETSGO LET'S GO!! LET'S GO!!!
The first row fucked up big time at 03:40 and didn’t fix it at all. I know Wells cussed they ass out when he got a 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was nervous they gonna do the same show from homecoming lol
They sound really good.
Entertaining, to say the least.👏🏽
Great stuff sir!!
Thank you kindly!

Yeah man they really messed that up. I mean threw the whole performance off 🤣
Mr. Wells misses no mistakes on the field
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

That ending remind of TN State when they do their famous TSU signature at the end of their show
I wish BCU can afford another band director
Most people feel that Dr. Wells is one of the best band directors
@@HBCUBandTalk He is !
Hail Wildcats.
Crab class of ‘13. Jar Head, Major Payne

BcU fiinally brought back Margarita 🍹
Lol at 3:40, whole squad in the front lower right f’ed up. Damn that was bad!
Football team really isn't producing and the band never travels to other SWAC schools. BCU probably would be better off going back to the MEAC
Give it time. They are regrouping. COVID and natural disasters really impacted the institution.
That's what I been saying
Nah BCU goes wherever FAMU goes. They usually travel but the school is trying to get itself together. They'll be back.
SU should be the broken tombstone..... The Rock Fall 89
The tuba section is smaller but still sounds great...I still do not understand using 4 flags in the drill why not march the alternates that sit in the stands..smh... BCU forever doing a diamond drill lol
never seen BCU this small… please get it together asap
Never thought I would see the day that Southern is bigger than BCU
They actually not small, they were never a huge band as far as I can remember but I will say they are lacking THAT WILDCAT MOMENTUM!
I’m confused why yall consider them a small and 😂 I’m lost but ok

Fuck the size gotta do with the crank nigga tf 😂😂😂😂😂😂
A good show but could of used some more energy. Good to see that signature Cookman sound is still in tack. Overall, I would give SU halftime.

Show was way too long,
what happened to the penalty flag?
Large band with a small sound ????

They only run on to the field when there are time restraints.… If you look at most of their videos, you normally come in from the end zone…
😴 🛌 💤 🥱

What High School was this again? Lol😴😴😴
BCU boring
As well as Southern's show
But yet you’re always on UA-cam looking them up. Thanks for watching.
Bcu very boring lol!
@@MjDedrick-vy6jm and here’s another downlow fan that clicked on the video when they saw Bethune Cookman 😝
BCU is only for the musically inclined. 💯 As boring as they may be to some, they’re never off.
