I think it's important to note Reiko Kodama the character designer for Phantasy Star I&II,director of Phantasy Star IV& Magic Knight Rayearth and, producer of Skies of Arcadia and all of the 7th Dragon games passed away back in 2022. She was only 58.
It's so nice to see some of these games again, most never deserved to ever be forgotten. This is why you guys are the best. Hopefully we'll get some of these remastered at least, I wouldn't even mind basic ports.
I just finished SOA Legends for the first time on GameCube today. Spent 54-55 on it, & one of my top 3 rpgs ever. Very glad that I got to play this game in my lifetime

Valkyria Chronicles 4 developing started in 2015 (after success of Steam port of VC1), and was released in 2018. Game was coodeveloped with Shining Resonanse developer Mediavision

I have all the ones I know of released in the US but would love to get the others. Segaga sounds fun. I would love if they brought back the turn based Phantasy Star games and made Infinite Space 2

I would rather they just remaster them and release them as they are. If they attempt to remake them they might butcher them. At least the remaster all they are doing is cleaning it up and porting it over.
Most of these now have fan translations - Sakura Wars 1 (I think the group is working on part 2 now), all 3 parts of Shining Force, 7th Dragon 2020, Segagaga, Shin Megami Tensei 1+2. I think it's unlikely Sega would bring any of these back, due to costs of translation (and likely bringing systems up to speed with modern gaming senseabilities) alongside a belief that they won't find a market.
Strangely, I just played 7th Dragon III and Stella Deus for the first time in 2023. Love Radiant Historia, Growlanser, and Skies of Arcadia. Good picks.

As much as I love Skies of Arcadia, I'd personally go back further and pick either Soleil/Crusader of Centy or The Story of Thor/Beyond Oasis. Two of my favourite action RPGs that I played through multiple times back in the day!

I absolutely adore Shining Force 3. I finally played Scenario 2 and 3 last year after trying and failing to get them to work multiple times over the years on cheap laptops (I even had an aborted attempt with a paper print out of the translation!). The final act was a bit disappointing for me but I'd had 25 years to hype it up in my mind and it was probably never going to be able to live up to those expectations. I think it just falls short of being a masterpiece but it's absolutely something more people should have the opportunity to play. It's a shame how few MD/Genesis era Shining Force fans have even played it, let alone the general JRPG player.
Clicked on this expecting some reference to the Shining series. Wasn't disappointed. And yeah, we can dream, but the chances of Sonic Chronicles Dark Brotherhood coming back are probably low. The game was involved in a copyright dispute that probably isn't worth dealing with again.
It's impossible. They milking Momotaro Dentetsu now, and now this is number one Konami's IP. And if i recall their last remakes of Tengai Makyou (Ziria on X360, and Manjimaru on PS2) sold bad in Japan.
@@nr2676Yeah, they should consider rebooting the series and gut whatever gunk it has. Nowadays, RPGs have working templates. They can follow those and give the game a Tengai Makyou touch. The battle system should be overhauled. I like the Tengai Makyou Zero one because I can see the party's sprite. The older ones are more Dragon Quest like. It's quite dated if you ask me. If they make it like DQ11, it'll be great.
And they fixed that in remake. Tengai Makyou Ziria Remake on X360 have visable party like in newer Dragon Quest games, but this game as i said flopped in Japan (jrpg only in Japan, only on X360 WTF ???). The problem with Tengai Makyou is the same like with Sakura Wars series. Both games were coodeveloped by Red Company, and had Ouji Hiroi as a director. It's very hard to make new ,,good'' game from those both franchises, without Ouji Hiroi and Red Company. Hiroi is now 69 years old (and not in a good health condition), and Red Company do not exist now. They bancrupted along with Hudsonsoft, but Hudsonsoft had this ,,luck'' where was bought by Konami in 2012, Red Company had ,,unluck'' and was bought by Pachinko Company (Oizumi), along with their franchises. In 2016 Sega bought back copyrights for Sakura Wars from Oizumi, but Konami don't did that with Tengai Makyou, which means this series is dead, maybe aside of Pachinko in Japan.@@LynxxLancer

Doesnt prevent them working with SEGA again, since at the time they weren't 100percent owned by them anyway. Oji Hiroi's age has nothing to do with anything since he just released a Sakura Taisen type game for mobile last year. And SEGA themselves just released an event crossover for an online game using the RED designed Sakura Taisen characters, they even got credited for it. Try again.
Phantasy Star 2 and 3 need a remakes and Skies of Arcadia and Shining Force 3 need remasters. Everything else is fine as is so long as it's easily available to play legally.
Phantasy Star 1 really needs one. All of them were available on the Sonic and Sega Genesis mega collection but Phantasy Star 1 had some issue saving. I would also like to see them add an auto map for the dungeons.

I think the problem is: PSO2 New Genesis exist (MMO overshadowed singleplayer games), and age of Phantasy Star 1-4. Those games were released 30-35 years ago, and younger people do not even know about existence of those games. Panzer Dragoon sold like dogshit outside of Japan, thanks to unpopular platform in West (Saturn) and Bernard Stolar.
What a shame, a new SP Phantasy Star would be a great way to reintroduce the series to a new generation. They could even remake 1-4 if they had any ambition for it.

Think PS1 needs some major quality of life, but this is due to I do not like fake 3d dungeon crawler games.

I think the problem is: PSO2 New Genesis exist (MMO overshadowed singleplayer games), and age of Phantasy Star 1-4. Those games were released 30-35 years ago, and younger people do not even know about existence of those games. Panzer Dragoon sold like dogshit outside of Japan, thanks to unpopular platform in West (Saturn) and Bernard Stolar.
What a shame, a new SP Phantasy Star would be a great way to reintroduce the series to a new generation. They could even remake 1-4 if they had any ambition for it.
I mean will see given SEGA has 1 studio could do it Consumer R&D Division 2 but also they worked on mascot games, Sonic, Samba De Amigo, Puyo Puyo and many more while Consumer R&D Division 1 has Like A Dragon, Super Monkey Ball and Virtua Fighter that IPs owned.
Consumer R&D Division 1 (RGG Studio) is divided into 3 teams: Yakuza team (RGG Studio), Super Monkey Ball team (former Smilebit), and Virtua Fighter team (former AM2)
Consumer R&D Division 2 (Team Sonic) is divided into 3 teams: Global Entertainment 1 R&D (Sonic, Samba De Amigo, Puyo Puyo team), Global Entertainment 2 R&D (Skies of Arcadia, Sakura Wars, Valkyria Chronicles team), Online R&D (Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis team)
Sega Sapporo Studio (knowing Sega, probably new mobile / online games division).
That's all dev teams which have now Sega Japan (6 dev teams + newest Sapporo Studio who still developed nothing). Not counting mobile divisions. The only way for revive most of franchises from this video, is outsourcing.

1st Creative Development Studio (Team Maniax) is divided into 2 teams: Shin Megami Tensei, Devil Summoner team, and Etrian Odyssey team
2nd Creative Development Studio (P-Studio and Studio Zero) is divided into 2 teams: Persona team, and Refantazio, Catherine team
3rd Creative Development Studio (former Careersoft): Growlancer, Devil Survivor, Tokyo Mirrage Sessions, Soul Hackers 2 team
Atlus have 5 dev teams.
@@nr2676 Online R&D/PSO2/SEGA Sapporo Studio dev team is now part of Division 3 and working in JSR Reboot with Division 4 SEGA Networks working on Dx2. With Division 1 and 2 two studios of SEGA that still do offline console games. Based on the SEGA Development Studios Wikipedia entry.

PSO 2 NG is very often promoted by Team Sonic with Sonic and previous PSO1 was developed by Team Sonic, so probably because of that i thinked it's part of this departament.@@xerontokyo

Yes it definitely should be on list (along with Phantasy Star 1-4), but you must understand maybe he don't played this game and don't know about their existence. Blame Sega for doing absolutely nothing with this franchise over 22 years. But maybe Sega hear your word and you will have Panzer Dragoon Saga Remake, because there is rumour Panzer Dragoon, Sakura Wars, and Neon Genesis Evangelion also will get new games in ,,Sega Power Surge'' project. @@FelixS.
