At 6:47, what you have there is the engine ghost that came with the Highway Haunter. I always appreciate a good pun, and Kenner seemed to pull it off using a giant, otherworldly, insect creature to represent the demon soul of this retro buggy. Good show, Kenner.
I get the vague impression I had the "Ecto -3" but it was so long ago, I'm not certain anymore. And that Playdoh play set looks so familiar too, especially that play mat.
I still have my original firehouse, I remember going to Toys R Us with my brother and Father, I was 3 or 4 years old...I was born in 84...I remember my dad buying it and walking back to the car and the box was so big, he was carrying it like a boombox on his shoulder. I had the main piece with the railings and did a little ebay shopping a couple of years ago to complete it...now my 7 and 5 year old boys play with it along with the vintage toys and new kenner re-releases...so in other words, I have an excuse to play with ghostbusters toys when I am with them as a 37 year old man. SO MUCH FUN. I still use that slime/ectoplasm feature, too.
This makes me wish I was a kid in the 80s. Growing up in the early 2000s, there was no Ghostbusters stuff anywhere. I was lucky enough to fing a fright features Winston at a Goodwill that I loved to death. 0ast that it was a box taped to my back with a string tied to a stick as a proton pack.
Really impressed that ghost trap still works. I had one as a kid, and mine also stopped working after the cord got damaged after getting kinked near the connector too many times.
I saw the thumbnail and the thing that jumped out to me was the playdoh set. I knew what it was right away and I was waiting for you to take them out to show off. I really hope you make a video showing the molds. I had that as a kid and it was without a doubt my most favorite Ghostbusters toy. And yes, I had the Proton Pack and a lot of the other items in that box (along with an inbox Ecto 2) but nothing best that Playdoh set for me.
Recently just got into collecting the Kenner equipment, what I've been doing is getting two of each, so I've got one to keep as a collector's item and one to mod. I turned my proton pack into a full size RGB replica by combining it with the Spirit pack
Ah yes, I have the Play-doh set in box still, as well as the proton pack in box, though I lost the ID card and the foam that came with it. Stickers are peeling off and the PKE meter has a broken antenna. I definitely put it through it's paces when I was a kid!
Incredible haul, Jason. I’ve been working on completing my minty-loose retro Kenner RGB figure collection over the past year and am about 90% finished. I believe the Ecto 3 only came with one flag originally but it’s nice that you got two considering there are two slots for the flag.
When it comes to my Kenner collection, I’m 12 accessories away from finishing the all figures. Technically 18, including the 6 accessories to complete my 2 Ecto-Glow figures. Accessory hunting has been quite a chore let me tell ya. That’s not all, I’ve still gotta get bits and pieces for the vehicles, other ghosts, etc.
Oh totally make a vid with the play doh! Bonus if you can get the og colors the set came with. Edit: Looks like it came with neon green, orange, and purple.

Think you should catalog what you DONT have. When I was into multiple toys brands and toy lines.....it was way easier to shop with a list of "not haves"

Play-doh was actually a Kenner brand at that time. Was owned by Kenner from 1971-1991. So technically everything is Kenner.
