the remote rev is one of the coolest features ive ever seen on any car
honestly
ong bro
how is it even possible 😂
I was thinking the same thing!!
simple really... @@dream8870
v8 muscle cars are going out with a bang! also i LOVE that retro gauge cluster. it blows my mind that other manufacturers dont do this...its a screen it can show whatever you want
The government took it out.
What a ridiculous dealbreaker.
The Mustang isn't a muscle car. Never was, isn't now.
Anyways, the car is shit. It's ugly, the stuck-on i-pad dashboard is cheap garbage. Must suck for S650 owners that the previous generation is faster.
@@faheemabbas3965they didn’t take it out it’s emissions that get more strict every year. They could make v8 hybrid cars if they wanted with more power and still the v8 sound replacing some power with the hybrid but they cheap
@@glock22357how is the mustang not a muscle car it’s literally the only one left. Plus I have an s550 it’s the same car basically yea but to say it’s slower I wouldn’t agree nobody leaves their car stock anyway if u do u don’t race. It’s more for the looks ur paying not to be faster it’s fast enough
I love that Ford still keeps true of their legacy by giving the cluster the classic '80s foxbody cluster. This feels right at home for me, and I love that small tad appreciation on how far Mustang and Ford has come.
It’s only 70,000$, what a steal😐
Except its a video screen that will glitch and look like shit in a few years.
@@buzzcrushtrendkill i would say thats true on the mach e "mustang".
That's why they add it, because suckers like you still cling to nostalgia
how far they have come? mustangs looked better in the 60s and 70s, the new designs look terrible compared to other modern performance cars. Mustangs might be the worst looking performance car on the road
Solid review and people will by the 10 speed if they want an automatic, and they’ll buy the manual if they want the manual experience. Just be happy ford’s doing both idk why people complain both transmissions have proven what they’re capable of depending on conditions for the driver. Acura guy myself and even i can appreciate a good platform; which ford has provided.
I've always driven automatic, have been for 20 years. I'd love to learn manual one day but I have an old ankle injury in my left/clutch foot and since I'm on my feet all day at work it gets pretty sore some days so automatic transmission is the way to go for me.
People say "automatics have no soul, they're not fun" and whatever other silly stuff they say because they don't realise there is so much more to driving and enjoying the driving experience than just using a clutch and shifter.
@@TheoEclipse i have both automatic and manual cars. A polo GTI (207hp) which has one of the best gearboxes i've ever seen, the 7 speed dct is simply stunning, and it's an amazing daily driver. but i also have a bmw 420d with a 6 speed manual and it's also extremely fun when i want to drift a little. It all comes down to your needs, so i got both type of gearboxes ahah
@@davidelancellotti8796idk not so much of a big fan of this 10 speed automatic he mentions about it and I agree as well it reallyyyy does come off sounding like a CVT transmission.. but in my preference I had an older vw gti mk6 with 6 speed manual fun little hot hatch. 6mt Audi s5 v8 4.2, now im committed and daily driver in my Audi S5 b8.5 2016 with the 7 speed dual clutch auto and obsessed with it, I miss rowing my own gears but if ford put this 7 speed dual clutch in this dark horse it would be fire 😮💨😮💨
Be nice if they still offered the Ecoboost with manual.
@@TheoEclipse well if you would have driven a manual from your early life you would say different...
I live in Ann Arbor, and I remember when I first started watching you guys, I kept thinking everything looked so familiar. Now that I know you guys drive around here, I'm always looking for my cars in your videos. It's one in a million, but you never know. Keep up the great work, and I'll keep watching.
my first vid seeing him only 2 mins from my house, i will proceed to try to find my car in every video too
This is the first video of theirs that I've seen and I just had the same experience. I was thinking I must be crazy to think that the trees looked familiar and then they passed the road that my parents live on haha.
honda civic 2020 design style
Same Lol.
i know the key revs sound silly but really its nice to be able to hear what your car sounds like from the outside without having someone else sitting in your seat lol
I like it
can also be neat for recording a perfect before and after video if modifying the exhaust lmao
spotted this vid randomly, found gold. Calm and subtle and the sunset driving vibe🤌✨
Great video man, honestly had a lot of enjoyment listening to your commentary, very relaxing and chill.
love the foxbody cluster, the green is so ford nostalgic
Butter 🧈 smooth shifting with 6 gears❗❗ Different strokes, for other folks. After driving this with a manual. I'm hooked like a 🐟 on a reel 👏
Im from the UK, you dont see many Mustangs around, but man Im loving these new ones.
Hopefully one day! Such a unique sound.
Ever since the 2015 Mustang release in the UK, I see quite a lot! Mustang is definitely my favourite American car by far!
We received our 2024 GT convertible a month ago and we love the car, it's a pleasure to drive. Just wanted you to be aware of an issue we have with ours, In both front wheel wells there are openings at the bottom rear side directly behind the wheel where stones, sand and grit are tossed up and trapped between the under chassis protection and the body, I have cleaned this out multiple times and the stones are damaging the paint on the exposed portion of the K member as well as stones becoming trapped between the the rocker plastic trim and the pinch weld. When we took delivery and brought the car home, both sides were filled with small gravel . I removed a substantial amount. Currently we have started a case file with Ford and our dealer now sees the problem and are also working on a temporary fix.
It is without a doubt a design flaw and I can only hope Ford will make changes to this inner fender well. In the meantime i'm going to have to come up with a cover of some sort. We posted a video on our youtube channel to show other 650 owners of the issue. Perhaps the Dark Horse is different but i doubt it.
We really love the car but this is a problem that needs to be addressed.
There's always gonna be issues with new release/first production runs of cars. Good thing is that it will all be covered under warranty and bringing up these issues with your Ford dealership will get them to fix them at the factory before shipping for future buyers.
bro i want one so bad
Exactly why I never buy first year model of ANYTHING. You are the guinea pig!
mustangs are all trash, as well as their drivers
The remote rev is cool no lie. Imagine sitting at a restaurant and just start revving you car from your table 😂
U are goona turn many heads and cripple up the whole restraunt’s plates..😂
Good video. I have almost this spec of Dark Horse, but with the 6-speed, and have been driving it for the past few weeks. I put about 1500 miles on it this past weekend on a road trip. I can tell you it's very dailyable, a real pleasure to drive actually. The magnetic suspension makes a huge difference since it's firm, but not harsh. The Trefeo RS tires from the Handling Pack are great in the dry, but terrible in the wet - be careful when it rains. One note on the video: as you were coming into the city you switched to Normal mode which changed the exhaust into normal instead of Track mode - that includes going through the parking garage. You probably would have noticed a decent amount of difference in exhaust noise in the garage if it were still in Track mode.
Lucky man, look after her! Glad you’re enjoying it!
Can I ask you what the insurance is like? I'd consider but afraid of ridiculous insurance cost.
I love it. My dream car for sure. I hope one day I get to enjoy one, even if it’s just for a little while
The cut from 90 to 6 because he looked up the years really made me laugh. The last thing you want to do is piss off mustang enthusiasts with wrong information. Lol.
Great video!
Great car review, I really like the emphasis on daily living with it i.e. squeaks and rattles and the lack there of in this car.
28:57 the flashing happens cause of the key in your pocket for easier identification when you're around other dark horses , I love mustangs ❤
What a sound on this car! Love it
When you said "I'm going to miss my tunnel! - I felt that.
For all the hate that some people have about the 10A. The 10A is the only reason the V8 lives in the mustang. Without it, the v8 would not meet EPA. So that's one reason how Ford was able to bring the V8 back. The 10A keep the emissions of the mustang down and gets it better gas mileage.
What an absolutely GORGEOUS car!
the new with the old style is what catches my eye. I LOVE IT!
awesome review mate well said and well driven keep it up.💯
Love that starting chime and those old school gauges.
The green is a beautiful choice imo
The old school looking gauges is dope
The interieur and the dash and everything is the cleanest I have ever seen!
I will agree about the 10 speed. I have a 6 speed Challenger and it pops and jumps when shifting. Especially from first into second.
One thing about the Dark Horse with the manual is... it's the TREMEC 6 speed! One of the best manuals in the business, and you can't get that in any of the lesser Mustangs.
The standard GT also gains the new Tremec 3160 for 2024 if I remember correctly. It’s no longer the Getrag MT-82.
@@flubdreload2818 That would have been nice, but unfortunately it's still the Getrag in the GT. Gotta go Dark Horse for that sweet Tremec.
Why does no one talk about auto clutch sequential gearbox? It would be a great deal breaker for me anytime
@@flubdreload2818 No, but I wish it did. Still the Getrag MT82 in the GT.
The car was an absolute blast to drive. Auto or not, (id prefer the Mani Mc Dany though ;) great video as always, buddy!
The revving thing is just COOOOOOOL
I’m in love with this car💜🏆
The denied downshifts are even worse than I imagined, but honestly, I don't think that would be a deal-breaker for me. This seems like it'd be a nice cruiser in non-Dark-Horse form. I agree with you that it's a little strange that the auto is even offered on the Dark Horse.
more people will buy it since it’s auto cuz they don’t know manual
@@userlamezz Or they have driven manuals for 40 plus years, like me, and want to try something different.
Yep, also it's more-so the fact that the 10-speed lacks character. I'd be thrilled with the 7-speed DCT they put in the last generation GT500!
It's a track car and the auto is a lot better for performance.
Huh, when the denying happened the rpm was too close to the ref limit area for a down shifting, it just prevents damage. One wouldn’t do it in a manual either, or at least shouldn’t.
this is way too close to being as loud as my stage 2 RS3 with secondary cat deletes and a 3.5" BullX catback lmao. That's insane on a stock exhaust system
Thanks for the report about your car. Nobody cares.
@@milesfathi it’s called perspective. Thanks for the general assholery, I’m sure you’re a very fun person to be around🙄
@arjuntarafdar4148 Don't worry, he cared enough to leave a comment 😂
@@RS3NDIT No one here's heard your car tho, so don't pretend you're mentioning it for anyone but yourself
@@TastiLead just because you haven’t doesn’t mean no one has. The bullx exhaust is probably the most famous RS3 exhaust, the most popular video of it has 1.4m views. I’d say a lot of people know roughly what my setup sounds like👍🏽 y’all just like to bitch I guess idk
That "retro" gauge cluster is awesome!
I'm in the rainy UK and bought a brand new RHD S550 GT in 2017 for 35K. Mountune upgraded it with a Roush Performance Pac 2 and I love it. But it's driven with passion every day and after two inlet manifolds, a rocker gasket, now the sump needing replacing, corrosion repair on both front wings and two wheels... Well, there is a cost to running a Mustang outside of its warranty! That has to be factored in as well.
Pay to play, always been how it is. I usually plan for the built second motor for most of my cars. Even after that your swapping transmissions every 2-3 years over 750whp+.
This car is bonkers! Love the green lights... and that remote rev.
The fact that all new cars are coming standard with touch screens that control everything is reason enough for me to never buy anything from the last few years. Give me analog/tactile buttons and dials. I don't want to have to look at a screen to turn my heat/AC on.
I am sure there's a reason behind having the interior look just like it did pretty much 30 years ago, but having a more modern interior would be a huge plus
The style of the gauge cluster is amazing, looks very cool. Like it!
I prefer previous Mustang front (but maybe 2024 would look better for real than in video), but the interior is massive improvement. Wonder for how much it would be for in my country, haven't seen any sold nearby (I'm ok with Ecoboost)
All the manual drivers :ewwww 🤮🤮 “I would rather walk” like stf u
For real 😂
Frr
Manual ftw
Obviously, saying that is a huge exaggeration, but it's a tiny bit of a bummer to buy a sporty car and getting an automatic...
Yup, or just buy a 23 mach-1 with the glorious tremec.
Hi, great vid, love the candid comments and opinions.... I've got a Dark Horse on order too (in Aus), did you mention you've got a "windy road" video too? Can you add that too?
The 10 speed auto works great in Sport and Sport+; you don't need to do it manual and is very intuitive in finding the right gear and makes amazing downshifting rumble when breaking
Thank you for acknowledging that the automatic transmission is the less fun and engaging option. Love how the car sounds!
Ima wait til the gt500 comes out for this
I'm excited to see what kind of Shelby we get this time around!
My dream car I have a 1989 mustang some day this is the one I would love to have those fox body gages would be my main setting if I had that car great video
Michigan guy here, crazy to hear that ford would give you one to test. Both parents ford engineers, and heard ford was pretty strict. Glad they let you drive it!
Being a polite neighbor IS waking everyone up with that sound!
That cluster looks reminiscent of the fox body era
What do you think about this in comparison to the m4/m3? Especially the CS you just reviewed? How is the handling. I watched a review on the standard GT which left me extremly dissapointed with the handling. Does this dark horse handle very good, for track driving?
It's a LOT floatier than an M3/M4, but still handles well enough! At the end of the day, it's still a Mustang, so you're never gonna have razor sharp driving characteristics.
That door closes with an unpleasant BANG.
Coming from the S550, I really do dig the interior of the new Mustangs. I don't feel at all the screens are tacky or unappealing to look at, personally I dig the technology crammed into these beautiful cars, having everything customizable makes it way better. The ability to swap out the display changes it up and keeps the car fresh, having car play/navigation on a nice big screen is a nice for those that actually take the Mustang for long rides.
All you "reviewers" really piss me off when talking about to 10 speed auto, "the dark horse should only come with manual transmission" but if you are the "boomer" or "drive in traffic".
I'm glad that they give auto option. I sustained injuries from a car accident about 25yrs ago which has left me with continued ongoing pain especially when doing daily things. One of those being driving, after 15-25 mins of driving manual transmission I am left with hip, left leg and lumbar spine pain. In the uk I could never have cars like an imprezza or evo because auto was not an option here. So I thank ford for sticking with auto boxes in their flagship muscle.
Literally, the whole auto vs manual argument is so childish.
They both have advantages and disadvantages.
Why’s it so difficult for people to just buy what they prefer and respect other’s preferences.
@@OfficialFBI Exactly! I love manuals for the driver evolvement and absolute human control over the vehicle, but I've needed auto's now for a long time. Buy what you need or prefer, I just hate that so many "reviewers" or "Influencers" rag on auto's as if they're a curse which then brings out hater comments slagging off someone because they wanted auto.
I laugh when they say "the point of a dark horse is to have manual" yet they don't say "the point of an RS/AMG/Ferrari/Lambo car is to have manual" The point is to personally enjoy your car.
@@Sly_Wolf_1 Agree 100%. I’ve struggled to find a review of the Mustang that isn’t biased towards the manual. Every video I watch starts with either “It’s got the 6 speed manual as it should” or “Unfortunately we’re stuck with the auto as there wasn’t a manual available”
There will always be people for both, it’s always an argument in the comments section. I have much more respect for those who shows respect and understanding towards someone’s choice.
Apparently it’s just that difficult for people to be happy for others.
@@OfficialFBI 👏👏👏👏👏Well said.
The best part is when you have someone who's been driving for only 5 minutes of their short young inexperienced life telling everyone what to buy. As an example this guy says the 5.0 coyote "engulfs" fuel with an economy of 11mpg, later 13mpg 🤔 err yeah when you stomp the gas pedel constantly and drive for most of the video at 5k revs 🤦♂️
Anyway it's been nice to converse with someone on youtube who has a brain 🤝
@@Sly_Wolf_1 Absolutely, the A10 especially can be economical if driven in an economical manner.
Likewise, been a nice conversation 🤝 All the best!
I have the GT with the performance pack and the 10 speed. You can stay in normal mode and still interrupt the shifts with the paddles at any time or go into sport mode and does indeed feel ike you're driving the dark horse. I have no complaints at all!!!!!
Im just so happy he did the tunnel thing 😄
10 spd is only good for 1/4 mile and daily commute. It sucks so bad for backroad fun. It's horribly inconsistent with shifts, sometimes just refuses to give gears, and it's too easy to get lost in the 10 gears when shifting manually. If you don't live in crazy traffic or race every weekend, get the manual and be glad you did
Agree main reason I sold my gen 3 outside of the numb steering. 10 speed is boring as hell over time
Wait....hold up.....your DAD daily drove a focus RS for years...there's a story there, and we're all wanting to hear it!
Still need to film a video on his car! haha
Great looking & sounding Mustang
I am so glad I wasn’t the only one who thought that the 10 speeds sounds like a CVT
My 10R does in normal mode, anything else it sounds normal cause it doesn’t “slip” gears.
I will never experience something that good but I can see it in a video, it ain't much but its honest work.
This model is so awesome, we are actually ordering one to match our blackout Ram Hemi Blackwidow, lol, so cool!
11:04 The Dark Horse has Manual too, but I disagree that it only has to be manual, it always should be optional, I personally prefer automatic transmission for cars, it’s easier and comfortable for me
I dislike all these new infotainment systems, they lag quite a bit and I need real buttons for climate and stuff
The S650 infotainment lags very little, as should be expected given it's powered by Unreal Engine and the processor isn't dogwater like previous gens. It definitely needs real buttons for the essentials tho.
28:57 the flashing happens cause of the key in your pocket for easier identification when you're around other dark horses , I love mustangs
I just looked at a few, and I'm just not sure they are worth $80k. I could see that price for a gt500 or gt350 but I do wish they had a better price. Great post pal, thanks for sharing!
Man im very close to buying an s650. I love the look and it kinda reminds me of my s197. I drove a 2024 gt premium vert with performance pack and magnaride and fell in love with mustangs all over again. Back in 2015 i test drove an s550 while i was shopping for a car and felt like the interior was so cheap. I instead bought a 2014 chevy ss sedan which i still own. Considering going back to a stang. First on race day!
Well I don’t wanna talk too much shit on the s650 since it’s such a new platform but so far the numbers haven’t been impressive less torque than the gen 2 and less top end than the gen 3 from the races and dynos I’ve seen on yt that being said could just be they weren’t fully broken in yet.
I've said the exact same thing about the 10 speed being like a CVT. I understand staying in peak power but it's real dumb.
It’s dumb to stay in peak power? lol what???
holy dark mustang :)
Wow! Such an amazing car, so many tech options.
This 10 speed auto willl eat any stick next to it you cant shift as fast EVER.
who hurt ford??
As soon as you started your video I knew exactly where you were! YPSI!!
that retro dial design is beautiful
I love how it has a quiet mode so you dont wake up your neighbors but... NOBODY who buys that car gives a s### about their neighbors. It's by definition a car for people who are the main character everywhere they go.
That 10 speed just sounds like a CVT simulating fake shifts so much. Honestly ruins the car, that first on ramp pull you did I barely even noticed one of the shifts, the revs moved by like 100. Yikes.
Lolwut
that 10spd has no business being in that car. I agree it ruins the cars sound. absolutely criminal.
Winning comes at a cost.
The auto gear shift looks so cheap and ugly as well. It looks like an after thought. The manual shifter looks so much cooler.
@robbysmith1178 it looks like they tried to make it look like a manual. Looks terrible though as it's taller than an actual gear shift knob
so on manual mode on an automatic transmission, I'm assuming you're using the paddle shifters since there's no clutch but how do the paddle shifters work or peddle shifters or whatever they're called
Love the interior!!
People claiming it's sacrilege to drive an automatic should just worry about what they want to drive, instead of being concerned about what other people choose to do.
Yeah the manual is for sports car guys that want rev up around town , we bought it to as a daily and road course track (mainly headed to VIR) , We have the auto coming soon, as auto is for racers in every way whether your drag or road course the auto is better in every way. otherwise yes I would love to shift gears in manual just for fun of , my first car was manual , I love it too
Great review! Missed opportunity with the remote rev in the parking lot 😢
That remote rev feature is pretty freedom
All those screens plus an automatic transmission? This is no mustang!
You know Mustangs have had autos since forever?
Damn you guys love complaining
Thos big screens look stupid in cars.
the front and the headlights of it look so much better then the gen. before
The new 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse seems like an exciting development in the Mustang lineup! The S650 model must be offering some impressive features and innovations. It's great to see how Ford continues to evolve the Mustang, blending modern technology with its classic muscle car heritage. Daily driving such a car must be a thrilling experience, with its powerful engine and sleek design. It's always fascinating to see how these iconic models adapt and improve over the years, isn't it? 🚗💨✨
The Camaro is just better. Plus wayyyyyy cheaper now. Or for around the same price you can get a zl1
Without markups, the 1le and this are 1-5k from each other optioned conservativly. These are so close in performance that it comes to preference. This is coming from someone who has had a camaro and now owns a 550. Track times will be very similar.
@@jeffkelly9197 not a ton of markups just not a lot of new stock
@@jeffkelly9197the ZL1 1LE is way better in every way when it comes to performance compared to the dark horse
@bobjohn7329 I'm referring to the ss 1le which starts at 58k, not the zl1 1le.
I was sold from the start, a car I would drive everyday just to enjoy a car and appreciate on what you have.
It was close for me between this and my new 2024 M340i. Ultimately I went with the four doors but this was awesome to drive!
Wild!
I'm not a fan of that big screen but everything else is perfect! Long live the V8!
this interior is crazy, idk if thats just me, i like it
WOW this is just beautiful.
dude wait, I'm also in Ypsi, i just stumbled onto this channel. Thats really cool!
jesus that looks so clean
I really love old school style speed meter :)
I love how most of your videos take place in Michigan!! I live there!!!
green dashboard looks amazing,
bro love seeing michigan car youtuber content
Fox body gauges my favourite feature as Mustang people just appreciate
mannn you driving around UMich not only takes me back to when i was living in the area but actually to everyday right now when i hear MY college's campus in SF have a bunch of S550s send it down the main road to the student parking lot and do obligatory downshifts every 3 seconds 💀
good to see mustangs act the same around campuses nationwide lmao
