I’m a beginner so this is perfect. If one day I want it faster I can use the youtube option to speed it up right?

@@KoreanwithMissVicky for me, it's just fine. I can always change my settings if it's faster or slower. I believe there are a lot of different range for each levels so i understand it's not easy to stay on 1 pace (if that make sense??) 😅

Thank you Miss Vicky. Actually, I'm the type of person who rarely leaves comments on every video I watch on UA-cam. But for this one, I want to give thanks. I will use this video as a reminder when I feel tired or want to give up learning a foreign language. In the past, when I was lazy about studying or wanted to give up, I would always look for videos on UA-cam about tips or good ways to learn a language. However, from this video, I realized that no matter how many videos related to tips I watch, if the root of the problem is within myself, then I will not achieve my dream of becoming fluent. One thing that is very important and even many videos have explained it is that I have to be consistent. Making our goals part of our identity is a small thing, but it takes a process. Simple thing, but I just connected to this. Thank you once again and stay healthy, 쌤 ^^

as an english teacher myself, i can safely say that you are already doing awesome! i know that it may feel overwhelming every now and then because learning a language is not that easy when we really think about it, but like i said you have nailed it! your advice on how to practice korean is so valuable and thank you for sharing your opinions with us! 💘

i am still learning and far from being good, but I think the most important tip for people I would give is that a lot of language learning is subconscious not conscious. You can study and study and feel like you aren’t making progress, maybe you forget a grammar point, or keep forgetting words and it makes you feel like you aren’t doing well enough, but suddenly when you come across a word or grammar point in some media you will immediately recognise and understand it, even if you thought you forgot it. As you keep learning and keep the exposure naturally it will be learned even if you don’t realise. So instead of thinking ‘Ah, this is too hard I’m not improving at all’ instead think ‘I have to keep going even though I don’t notice the improvement, and later on I will notice it’
As well as that, my second tip would be to not worry about how efficient you are being, but worry about enjoyment. Learning a grammar point or vocabulary you are curious how to say will be far quicker to learn than one you don’t care about at the moment. Find out the ways to talk about what you are interested in, and make sentences that are relevant to you and your life. Saying ‘Sally likes Apples’ is boring, but what if you learned how to express your interests instead? If you like sports, learn what the sports are called and how to say what your favourite team is, which team you don’t like, learn the words for ball, pitch, and so on. This applies to whatever you like, movies, makeup, games, fashion. If you do this, naturally you will want to find out how to say more advanced sentences about what you want to say.

🥺 진짜 감사해요 선생님! Though i've actually (think) just accept that it will never going to be easy & just accept that i will just learn slowly yet there are somedays when i feel a little discourage & feel frustrated with my skills. "It's been a year since i started learn this, why haven't i improve like other people?" This kind of thoughts. Especially when i talk with my friend. But if i look at the small detail, i do improve a lot and actually understand much more. A year ago, i cannot even write a simple sentence but i do now. Tbh, i feel relate so much with your story as english is my second language & korean is third so i should've already understand that it took time to level up untill advance level but there are days that it become so hard for me. Thanks for those tips & advice 🥰

For me, i learn korean mostly by watching kdrama, i learned so much vocabulary by doing this and i memorize more by listening. I also learned korean grammar etc and i can speak korean, not very well yet but that's fine i can do a korean conversation and i'm at intermediate level now specifically on understanding listening and grammar. I really can understand more korean now

Interesting to learn how you became fluent in English! I remember your brother saying he isn’t very good in English, so I guess either your mom taught only you, or you were the only one diligently studying? ^^
Regarding motivation, the other day I was reading Jennie’s ig story and I could understand all the hangeul she wrote, it made me the happiest person! That’s all the motivation I need haha (I also learned Korean accidentally, because I wanted to know how to write her name at first)

Hello Miss Vicky, I read that you said that your video didn’t do too well and I might know why, since you do mostly have viewers that speak English, I think doing videos like these where you talk abt personal life in English more will get more views since a lot of people don’t want to read subtitles but still want to watch ❤

Regarding speaking speed, personally, I like authentic as possible for recorded content, as i can adjust the video speed, albeit with some distortion. But i definitely prefer this slightly slower more deliberate delivery in lives.😅

I'm a domestic learner too haha. I'm french, i learned english at school, my english writing is better than my speaking because in my english class, we practiced mostly writing like translation and in my english class, we don't speak english a lot, just practicing writing, Usa and Britain's history, that's why my english speaking isn't as good as my writing skill.
I learn korean since 2 years but not at school, online, with a online korean teacher at first and a
i learn alone too and it's very different to studying a language at school. No schedule when you study alone, very different from school.
So you need a discipline and motivation to study korean alone.
But even studying alone you can make it, so fighting!
