RIP brother of John FOGERTY, who died in the eighteens, because of a blood problem in the times of AIDS.
Flows like the river. Yes! Someone else gets that the smooth rhythm of the song represents the flow of the river that Proud Mary is moving across. Also say Ch Ch Ch etc in time with the rhythm and this is the slap of the paddle wheel on the water. When Elvis and Tina sing a tricked up version, they mangle it because these issues that are at the heart of the song are lost.
The rhythm of this song is incredible. It's just constant and soothing. I can't explain it I guess. This is one of those timeless songs that bridges generation's of people.
