My mom harvest them 3 times before throwing them into the compost.
From my experience, the 2nd one tastes the best, and 3rd one is okay, but a little on the bitter side.
Usually we harvest on day 8, 12 and 16, and toss them all away after that.
We start a 2nd batch usually on day 7/8.

    Hey,
You always provide brilliant tips and I need your expert advice.
I'm facing issues with seed germination and plant growth, and I'd appreciate your insights:
1- Germination Challenges: Despite good airflow and careful watering, mold forms on my seeds (it looks Like a cloud all over my tray) even though I use less seeds. How can I prevent this?
2- Weak Seedlings: My seedlings are weak (They grow zig zag and looks like they will fall within 2~3 days). What can I do to promote stronger growth?
3- Ideal Conditions: What are your recommended humidity and temperature levels for germination and growth?
4- Air Circulation: How do you manage air circulation in closed environments?
Your help would mean a lot to me. Thanks in advance for your time!

As they germinate and start growing they always form the layer of white looking mold but it is not mold. Are you giving them sufficient light for strong growth? You can use a small fan if desired

If you're looking into juicers, research auger driven and not centrifuge. Centrifuge juicers heat up the products by nature of the motion, and kill some of the beneficial things in the final product. Auger driven juicers are worth the look see. We've had the same one for 15 years and it still works like brand new. Many auger driven juicers will make nut butters and pastas.

At least now, I have something showing other than seeds laying in dirt or a container. It’s about two inches… and I’ve noticed growing without dirt, the wheatgrass is growing longer, however, they have what looks like white cotton in the roots. Is that normal? That’s not fungus, is it? …and if it is, how can I get rid of it…and even after being washed off, is it too dangerous to eat?

Hi jo-Ann. Great question. Both options are less than optimal (which of course is juicing and consuming all at once), but studies have shown that nutritional content of wheatgrass actually diminishes after 8 days of growing. As in the wheatgrass would be less nutritious day 9 compared to day 8 if left in the soil. Of course quality is also difficult to maintain cut and stored in the fridge. But I found that I prefer that method. Try both and see what works for you

Do you ever juice the whole crop and then FREEZE what you don't drink from the first cutting?? FREEZE in 1oz ice cube trays, so you then use TWO/drink ... either thaw OR pour some hot water with a cube of juiced organic LEMON juice + honey ...

Trying to figure the cost of a 10x20 tray of wheatgrass using the 8 quart bag of organic soil and the 1lb bag of seeds from the amazon link, seems like one tray would use the whole bag of seed and maybe 1/3 of bag of soil correct? Have you figured out how many 2 oz shots you get from the tray and cost per shot when growing your own?

If you are eating wheat grass grown it in trays or small dish you are not getting the same nutrition as the wheat grass gown outside in dirt on a farm.
