- Hooking up to city sewer and inspection. I'll go over details on how to pass inspection and what the inspector is looking for when you connect to the main.

I just a plumber do the 2-45s instead of the 90 sweep like they used to do. He said the flow goes better with the 45s. The length of the straight piece between them must be 2 times the diameter. So if it 4" pipe the straight piece must be at least 8".
I’m surprised the inspector would allow that 45 into the y of the trap. I think near me they would want it brought straight out to a San t then drop and still have a riser for vent. They would for sure fail me for the 45 y combo at the end. Also 90s are fine. Long sweep 90s pass. Vent 90s don’t.
How do you get a connection point from the lateral to the city main line for a new house build?
I a plumber for 18 years in Chicago Illinois we never install a p-trap on main sewer line bcz every fixtures have separate p-trap
I think that p trap there collecting all wasted, paper, etc and then is failure point clogging every few months
Well, this is exactly what is code for my township. The reason it is there is to stop sewer gases from the main line coming into the house
@Appalachian DIY i understand a p trap is for stop sewer gases, so u install separate p-trap under kitchen or bath sink bathtubs and shower and other floor drains or not ?
@@TeslaBoy123 yes, sinks, bathtub/shower, all have their own traps and a main trap just outside the house
HI, is there a way I can contact you? I bought the house two years ago. I need advice and tips for crawlspace work. The crawlspace is 24 to 27 inches deep. I hope we can talk soon!!! Thanks.
