About an year ago there was 103 sample libraries... now there's 1000 and growing. Amazing.
Thank you I downloaded all of the links in all of the tabs on google and added them all to my decent sampler libary. I think I downloaded 300 instruments give or take. Unziping each of of them was a bit of a nightmare but its worth it

How I envy producers starting out now (and by envy I mean happy for them).
Some kid starting today will have this, plus those affordable Spitfire classics, plus LABs, plus really cool lite instruments like Shreddage Stratus or Amplesound guitars. Amazing.
When I started in the late 2000's as a broke college kid I had... DSK VSTs, Sonatina orchestra, and the abomination that is FL studio's Slayer. Twas years before I got anything with round robins :D
Then one day I heard of Kontakt ^^ and slowly, but surely... it ruined my life, someone help me I don't what to do with all these string libraries!

I like that I can use DecentSapler as a Drag & Drop, Stand Alone, No Fuss, quick instrument host... HOWEVER that seems to be only DecentSampler instruments... I can't seem to just drag and drop PianoBook instruments this way.

@@DavidHilowitzMusic Oh wow, thank you! These drums sounds are tight. I'm going to use these so much. FYI - there is a small bug in this drum library/GUI. If you resize the interface the kick knob glitches into the text overlay, which seems like it shouldn't. :) All other controls don't move. Just wanted to let you know. David, is there any way to download Henson's "Winter Felt Piano Free Prototype" in DS format? Why did they take it down from the website?
Hello. I have followed the steps. I have downloaded and installed it, I downloaded several instruments from the pianobook page, but it only opened one piano and its sound was minimal. It's a shame I managed to get excited. I see that the process is not really that intuitive.

As a Kontakt owner are there any advantages to using Decent Sampler? Is it lighter on cpu, sound quality etc. Thank you.
Maybe could be the fact that it runs on many more systems than just windows and Mac Os, I use Lubuntu Linux and my PC just has 2 gb of ram and it is still working hehe..
I'd probably download any alternative to Kontakt that doesn't use a tiny unreadable font

if you really like pianos for free this is your heaven. if you want other stuff there are a few other cool things that are not pads nor pianos. if you don't know the name of something before you click, it's most probably another piano

And, while I know the demand for AAX version and overall improvement are more important, is there any chance that DecentSampler coming to Linux? Currently it ran pretty well with Wine (a compability layer for Linux distributions to run Windows apps/plugins) but having a native version would always be better.
some of the list are just kontakt but eventually I hope they will be converted. this is the beast thing ever nonetheless
David thank you for your videos. I am a newbie to Kontakt, and play only piano. Do you have a comprehensive video on how to use the older piano samples and vsts with Kontakt. I had always had an issue with getting them to play properly since Kontakt 2. Thanks.

Yes, it will always be free. I’m using the sampler to sell my own samples through the decent samples site. Soon I will also start selling libraries from select third-party publishers. Those sales help fund the ongoing development. But yeah, the plugin itself will always be free and open to the community.
@@DavidHilowitzMusic that's a really nice vision for the project. It's great to see independent alternatives for the the big samplers out there. It would be great If we see more vst creators doing reasonable priced vst. NI prices are astronomical for many wallets. Thanks David for these alternatives. It's really nice when I see a company or person making money while being reasonable and helpfull for the community!

i'm having trouble downloading this on Fl Studios. Is it a VST? i cant seem to find the file, no matter where i put it. I tried sound generators and everything, the only place i can get it, is to my sample packs. But it doesnt play the same on sample packs
Sir now if we are downling a decent sampler library we also get a sample folder and in the sample folder there are one shots . What we have to do with that folder ?

Hi, i have download Decent Sample and some of its packs. Does it matter where you download the packs to cos when i drag them over to the sampler they do not load. Can anyone help?
