I had the honor of meeting Joel and LaBreeska at a church meeting in Kentucky. Joel and I spoke for around 20 minutes. We discussed scripture and just serving the Lord, in general. They also sung a few songs during the meeting. It was a camp meeting type meeting. LaBreeska was such a sweet, wonderful woman of God. I hated it when she passed. I know she’s in the hands of our mighty savior, but it broke my heart to hear the news. Can’t imagine how Joel and the family must feel. It was crystal clear that Joel was deeply in love with his wife. Just a wonderful family, and they’ve blessed God’s people for years. Their reward is laid up for them. Can’t wait to sing praises with them and others to our Lord God throughout eternity. ‘There is going to be a meeting in the air In the sweet, sweet bye and bye I am going to meet you, meet you over there in that home beyond the sky. Such singing you will hear never heard by mortal ear' Twill be glorious, I do declare And God's own son will be the leading one at the meeting in the air’. I plan on being a part of that meeting. This world is so vile, and I long for “Canaan land”.

David Burnett David, unfortunately it is true. Joel has even written a book about it attacking even praying to Christ! Joel simply does not believe in the Trinity, nor does he believe Christ is deity or a part the Godhead. I'm not posting gossip but almost with tears the sad truth. I've had everything album and CD of the Hemphills I could get my hands on down through the years because of their great music. I'm not an "enemy" of Joel, just saying "Beware"....he has changed his doctrine!
The oneness doctrine which was given by “Revelation” to the con artist Charles Fox Parham, has messed so many people up. Joel was right to admit that and I always believed he wrote this song because he saw so much judging in that cult. However, he got some more mixed up views after he saw that the doctrine of modalism is wrong. I hope he got it straight finally because he sure wrote some good songs.
This song is nice, but it conveys a false message, which is "doctrine is not important, and it really doesn't matter what you believe." Nothing could be further from the truth. This notion is deadly, and is making the church powerless over sin. The devil loves it.

There are no denominations in the Bible- only one way to be saved, and that is by obeying Acts 2:38.
